Sounds like, to me, that GB was punishing her for what she said in her song off her album UK Blak.

Commenting from the year 2024 here....I'm an 80s-Baby but didn't discover these guys until like 2 years ago. I immediately fell in LOVE with their SOUND & LOOKS. I happened across them by accident but have been hooked ever since, and have added some of their songs to my 'Retro' Playlist. "All Fall Down" & "Rain or shine" are among my favorites!!! Born of a Jamaican father & Indian mother, the sisters remind me so much of the Braxton sisters, and sometimes the Jackson sisters too!! And my oh my were the Brothers handsome! I have older cousins who remember watching them on Soultrain in the 80s.....Black is truly Universal!

I liked Princess. I think Say I'm Your Number One was her finest hour because it was a very good song, very well written. Despite the drum machine / synth elements, the chord changes and modulation were very classical in their essence. Her voice was stunning. The follow-up songs never quite cut it.

'Dayz Like That' was my favourite song. 'Sweet Love 2K' was another great song. I remember reading at the time that there was a lot of in-fighting in the group which is what ended the band. So in a way they likely sabotaged themselves when they were hitting their stride as a girl band.

Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards are one of many Singers/Songwriters from the US who thank The Brits for keeping their music alive. Everybody Dance was also covered by Kimberley Walsh of Girls Aloud and Steps. Kenny Gamble/Leon Huff of the Philadelphia Soul Sound.

This is a great video i am stuck at home with covid and decided to do the take that years having just watched rob on netflix. I was really wasnt into them at the time but remember seeing them piling out a door of a nightclub as it was too dangerous to perform in hull in 1991 and they also performed for my school at dinner time. My brother measured their van for his maths project. haha

Thank you so much for putting so much effort into this video. It was really interesting to watch a summary of their early years and their eventual split. Especially the interview that Howard gave in the end was pretty chilling because I've never heard him talk about his struggles at the time. Especially the way he described it...wow. Can't wait for part two!

I think she was one of the great vocalists out there. "Say I'm your Number 1" was an outstanding song, and she produced an outstanding vocal performance, but then we stumble into where it went wrong. I hear all the talk about contracts and record labels etc.., but the elephant in the room is that the songs she came up with following that were well produced, but they were not good songs, they were poor by any standard, and that is the simple reason they didn't sell. If she had teamed up with a good songwriter, we would be telling a very different story here. You can be the best singer in the world, but if the songs are not good, you will struggle..., and that seems to me what happened here.. Just my opinion. She is an outstanding talent.

I've had "Skin" since it was first released and still enjoy it to this day -- amazing voice. I remember getting curious about him towards the end of the 90s as I was only ever aware of the one album. I couldn't believe it when I read what happened. Suicide? Sketchy as hell. What a shame that the world lost such a talent at that young of an age. He was just getting started.
