I have two of these. One is slightly used in the pristine box. The other is brand new in the box. I also have a brand new K800 & MX Anywhere Mouse (v1) in the box, plus the used K800 & same mouse used out of the box. I am cracking up seeing this K830 & th eK800 on ebay for almost $700. Wow....

People say they will only buy if they don't drift lol, these are cheaper than the original, if the performance is feels like the original these ones are already better because they are cheap. Lol
Just got the original on sale and I'm undecided. I like the dpad a lot and the ABXY buttons are nice. Right thumbstick is a little awkward, but my biggest worry is removing and scratching the back of my Zelda OLED switch. Taking it out is awful. So not sure if I will keep it. The Satisfye grip is honestly way better for ergonomics, and I have a joy con where I swapped a d-pad shell. If crkd even put some silicone runners on the back, like the satisfye products, that would prevent scratching.
it's definitely risky! i haven't experienced any scratches but I know some have so it's not work risking it. If you go with it, i'd look into maybe some film or paper that you can sandwich in-between! But compared, the satisfye is my go-to for the best grips out there! if you want a new controller for handheld mode, this one is a current favorite BUT we just got the new one so will be posting about that asap!

Both versions are a no for me sadly they fixed my only 2 issues of the original by adding hdmi compatibility and making it easier to remove without scratching...but then ruined it with top symmetrical sticks so it's a deal breaker...so close to a great product

Why is it that people pronounce the "Do" in "8BitDo" as "doe"? Like is there a history behind that?
That's how the company pronounces it! I use to say 8bit-DO but i've reached out to them and they say it's DOE. I'll take either though haha There's another brand I used to say as Skull & Company but it's just Skull & Co. lol I was just so used to saying Co. as Company haha

Does this monitor work well when playing OLED Nintendo Switch games? I need to find a good gaming monitor for my PC, PS5 and Switch games.
Of course! OLED makes just about any good content look great! BUT it's MASSIVE and the Switch can only output HD so it will look pixelated up close! Still looks great though!
Would it still look pixelated if I sat 3 metres away?

Very nice monitor, but for a 'back to school' setup I'd recommend a steam deck with dock, a spare dock setup (usb-c dongle, hdmi cord, & charger), controllers of choice (I like ps4 dual shock for the touch pad & battery life, but if drift is a concern or if you prefer offset thumb sticks then substitute whatever you like), and a slim case or grip case with removable front plate (I like the kill switch, but there are a bunch of equally good options these days, many of them cheaper, you just need something small enough to fit in your bag that will protect the deck's thumbsticks and screen while its in there) so you can throw the deck in your bag to play on the go. Between emulation (get a big microsd card) and steam sales you'll have as huge a library at your fingertips for far less cost than game pass - especially with the price on the latter jumping up now that microsoft has giving up on the unsustainable 'growth forever' model - and you won't have to worry about losing access to all your games if that subscription price ever spikes higher than you can handle. I remember I had little enough spare cash and better things to spend it on when I was at school. Sure, the steam deck is a MUCH less powerful device than the Series X, you won't be capable of anything close to the same resolution or fps, and honestly that very nice monitor might end up being overkill. They're different devices aimed at different use cases, both exemplary at what they're trying to be, and I'm not at all arguing that the Series X is a bad machine. But for a one size fits all gaming solution in a school setting? Especially a college setting? IMO the massively increased flexibility is a more than worthwhile trade for the performance. Being able to un-dock the deck to play in bed with headphones while your roommate is trying to sleep, or take it with you in your bag to play at the quad or in the library between classes, or easily take your deck, controllers, & spare doc set up to your friends dorm or rec room to play some games there will matter so much more.
