need to redefine modernity. the component that interest s the ummah is science and technology, not its philosophy, law or legal system. the ummah has quranic philosophy which is enough. however , they have to have a thorough understanding of the other component.

Modernity is not totally abandoned in modern Islamic philosophy, but digested and absorbed of the the good thing which is supposed to be a part of Islam and which has been neglected and lost by scholarship due to obsession with Sufi epistemology and methodology!

Concerning Arshia Ali-Khan. She is a world-class liar. In 2012-13, Arshia and her legal team changed emails sent between Arshia and her ex-husband as well as Arshia and others to make her ex-husband look like an uninvolved and violent Muslim man. The judge who held the custody trial in May 2013 had previously made both parties aware that he favors mothers over fathers when it comes to custody rulings. Her legal team used the false information and Arshia's influence over her friends to demonize the ex-husband throughout the trial. Shariah law had nothing to do with custody nor was there anything regarding Arshia seen as a radical Muslim, nor was it that Arshia had no money nor that the ex-husband tried making her seem like a terrorist. There are actual transcripts of the trial available as the ex-husband bought and paid for them because he eventually appealed the lower court ruling. There were no "counts" as Arshia falsely claimed...she is great at making herself look like the victim. By late 2011, the ex-husband wanted to divorce Arshia and that both should have joint custody of the 2 children. Arshia was hurt by her ex-husband's decision to divorce here, so, Arshia filed for divorce and expressly made clear she wanted sole custody. Arshia was doing very well financially as she worked full time at the UMMA Center and kept ALL HER INCOME when she worked. The household was run strictly and solely on the ex-husband's wages. Now, by taking sole custody, Arshia would ensure several things: (1) Care and control over the 2 children, (2) Arshia's desire to oust and eliminate father's influence over the 2 children, (3) to obtain "child support", and (4) grow in stature, promininence and prestige playing the victim card and lambasting others based on her ideology. Oh, how fruitful she became taking money and the kids who were exploited as Arshia played victim. The ex-husband began paying child support to Arshia in April 2012 (while they were legally marries) and after the sole custody judgment (late May 2013) he was squeezed for child support and extra curricular activities including child care expenses as Arshia needed time and opportunity to grow more and more powerful. The ex-husbands repeated attempts asking Arshia to watch the children were shunned and ignored by Arshia. Arshia made sure she punished her ex-husband for his decision to divorce her not simply bullying and gaslighting him in emails but by her continuing litigious actions in courts. A pound of flesh would not curtain the thirst and hunger of Arshia. Dark times didn't relinquish for the ex-husband, who had once helped Arshia rewrite her Psych papers in her Masters program, as he was now enslaved to Arshia and basically eliminated from the children. So much so did the support and expense obligations impact him, he began falling back on child support payments. Arshia made sure to collect or have the ex-husband thrown in jail. She collected more than her share and was awarded RIBA, which she freely took. Her father passed away the same time as the time when she didn't hesitate collecting RIBA (the 1st time, that is). After taking RIBA, Arshia and her mother went to Umrah (or Hajj). While Arshia worked at the 'American Islamic College (AIC) in 2016-17, she wrongfully usurped healthcare benefits at a discounted premium for the 2 children via State of Illinois' "All Kids" program. When the State of Illinois learned in late 2016/early 2017 that Arshia was essentially stealing benefits by making more income than eligibility for All Kids allowed, the children's benefits were terminated. Arshia then enrolled their 2 children into her employer's benefits (AIC) around March 2017 and demanded her ex-husband reimburse her for their 2 children's health insurance premiums (Arshia insisted the amount was $499.81/month). In reality, Arshia wasn't paying a dime for their children's health care premiums via AIC but Arshia wanted more money from the ex-husband. Arshia went as far as lying under oath to the Court saying she actually paid the children's premiums and was due thousands in arrearage. The Court then wrote an edict in early 2018, against the ex-husband, that such money had been paid by Arshia and that he would be sent to jail if he didn't give her the money (or produce overwhelming evidence that justified him not paying). It took thousands upon thousands of dollars and loads of billed hours by the ex-husband's legal counsel to eventually get a subpoena issued to AIC (1st attempt was denied by the Court after Arshia's legal counsel asked it be) and find out the truth. After nearly 2 years went by and ex-husband's counsel couldn't get much out of Arshia, an Agreed Order was decided upon in May 2019 to settle matters regarding the supposed health insurance premiums and ex-husband's child support and expense obligations. Thousands and thousands of dollars he paid Arshia. However, Arshia wasn't done lying, cheating and pulling amuck. For you see, Arshia made it seem to the ex-husband as though she was employed by AIC when she actually employed by MLFA. In fact, Arshia did not even tell her own kids she was employed by MLFA (around Aug 2018) until the ex-husband told them (Sept 2019)! Furthermore, Arshia had remarried in 2019 and had forced the 2 children from disclosing the truth to their father. Only after an incorrect agreed order was signed did the ex-husband learn he had been duped, yet again, by Arshia. Arshia had been busy growing an empire based on the bloody cherries of others. Her desire for dominance and control via any means was not exhausted. Arshia was remarried and had a much higher income at MLFA than at AIC. This meant the agreed order signed in 2019 was fraudulent because a lower income amount for Arshia was used making the ex-husband liable for higher child support obligation. Fast forward to 2023 and the ex-husband is still fighting Arshia to have the false 2019 agreed order overturned (because Arshia refuses to cooperate and allow her true incomes to be seen via loads of discovery attempts). The ex-husband filed for sole custody of the 2 children as Arshia committed fraud to initially obtain sole custody and Arshia's unimaginable levels of fraud in the years thereafter. "When you see them, their appearance impresses you. And when they speak, you listen to their impressive speech. But they are just worthless planks of wood leaned against a wall. They think every cry is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah condemn them! How can they be deluded from the truth?" - Surah Al-Munafiqun (The Hypocrites) of or beautiful Quran 63:4

His ideas are summarized in books such as: The Impossible State (2013), Restating Orientalism (2108), and Reforming Modernity: Ethics and the New Human in the Philosophy of Abdurrahman Taha (2019). Arab American Christians have good efforts, such as Dr. George Saliba, Dr. Joseph Massad, Dr. Wael Hallaq, and Dr. Edward Said. Especially treating the problems of Orientalism and bias against Islam.

Very interesting talk by Hael Wallaq! As for what followed... the Umayyads as egalitarians and the only "problem Mu'waiyah at-taliiq had was with Ali" as Ovamir Anjum tells us shows how confused he is! The so-called egalitarianism - a word unknown at the time, btw - of Umayyads was more to do with undermining the mission of Islam and its founder by encouraging riffraff and targeting those who wanted to carry forward the original message of islam based on ethical and moral principles. Most of these were members of yhe family o the Prophet, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib being its foremost figure. Mu'waiyah instituted the ritual cursing of Imam Ali from every pulpit in the empire after every Friday sermon (khutba) throughout his empire, a practice that lasted 70 myears or more. This has left an extremely bad after taste in the entire world of Islam, and we see its effects till this day. All those who may not believe me about Mu'awiyah's evil machinations are welcome to see these videos, some bilingual Arabic-English, showing the evidence from ORIGINAL Arabic historical sources: *The Sunna of Cursing Imam Ali (as) From The Pulpits- Sheikh Zakariyya refuting Uthmaan al-Khamees * [Eng Subs] ( *SUNNI source only* ) kzread.info/dash/bejne/mZyesdeGdL3fgso.html *Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan's hatred for Imam Ali- Seyyid Kamal Haydari* [ENG SUBS] *Only Sunni source* I سنة سب الإمام علي (ع) من المنبر- الشيخ زكريا دحض عثمان الخميس ( مصدر السنة kzread.info/dash/bejne/gXyVqdGeot27o8o.html *Mu'awiya instituted the bid'ah of cursing Imam Ali* v أقام معاوية بدعة سب الإمام علي kzread.info/dash/bejne/dIKFxrV6lbTLhZs.html
