Swift slash is by far the hardest ash of war to use. If you see any tarnished out there Swift slashing, you know they probably have hundreds, no, thousands of hours in elden ring to be able to control such a precise aow like Swift slash.

A genuine tip for Messmer’s Assault is that the second attack is an excellent rollcatcher and can be delayed quite heavily.
You know, when I first saw the great katana i thought to myself "this looks cool but not good. Its just a great sword but longer." But recently, and probably after seeing you use it, ive given it a chance, and you know what? I get why you like it so much. Very satisfying weapon. And ide say it still kinda is a greatsword, but longer. But, thats a good thing.

Occult Great Katana with Poisonous Mist is my favorite setup right now, great Status pressure (the Poison weapon buff scales with your Arcane, so Occult gives a massive amount of buildup on top of being the optimal infusion for boosting both damage and the innate Bleed) and is a decent Ash of War for Hyper Armor trading. Couple it with the Poisoned Hand (5%), Mushroom Crown (10%), Kindred of Rot's Exultation (20%), Lord of Blood's Exultation (12%), and Sacred Bloody Flesh (7% + 18% when Blood Loss occurs) and your attack absolutely skyrockets just for applying some Status effects that are already beneficial to be applying. You could even choose to put the Great Katana in the offhand to take advantage of the true combo it has into a fast mainhand weapon, such as the Poisoned Hand. An alternative Fist weapon I've been enjoying with this build is a Blood Venomous Fang for some extra Bleed status buildup.

Amazing weapon for 1v1s, however 3v1 the no poise break makes you suffer a lot in invasions. Really sad as this is hands down my favourite weapon in the dlc but yeah not the best for invading :(

it seems like you didn't proc rot with the poleblade on a single person? the only time I saw rot proc in the video, it was from a rot pot? I won't say the ripple halberd is better since I don't really know, but it does seem like the buildup is really bad if it's never proccing. the thing about the other innate rot weapons is that they have the same rot buildup but way faster movesets, it's easy to get a lot of hits in. they're too short, for sure, but even so it's still easier to get a lot of hits. I think this weapon should have at least 75 rot buildup. honestly even with 90 I think it would still not be overpowered. the other halberds have so much better AR, and while rot helps to make up for that, it's a huge downside to have your damage rely on something that can be instantly negated with a cheap consumable. true that lots of players don't seem to understand they can go into their inventory and consume a bolus. but even if only 10% of players eat a bolus when you're building up rot, it's a big downside since other weapons don't suffer from that problem. heavy claymore doesn't have a situation where 10% of players are able to swallow an abundant consumable to effectively lower its AR by 50%. even bleed builds don't have that problem since it builds up so fast. that doesn't make status builds useless of course, but it does mean fromsoft can afford to buff their status buildup a lot without making them overpowered. especially poison and rot, since they don't do instant damage. the reason bleed got overpowered was because there's no way to prevent the damage unless you consume a bolus before it procs, but it builds up insanely fast. even if there was a weapon that instantly procced scarlet rot in 1 hit, it still wouldn't be anywhere near as overpowered as rivers of blood was back in the day, since if scarlet rot procs you can just eat a bolus. if you're quick enough you'll only take like 100 damage. so, I don't see why rot buildups need to be so low. I understand why they're lower than poison buildups, this makes sense as rot is better than poison, and we don't want rot to be strictly better than poison, since most players don't do much weapon swapping and therefore can't really take advantage of both at once. but poison and rot are inherently so much weaker than bleed, frostbite, and madness (maybe even sleep), that they should naturally build up faster, not slower. I think for balance reasons and to encourage more variety, they should weaken the status buildup scaling of the ripple weapons a bit, but add arcane scaling for status buildups across the board, so weapons like antspur rapier or poleblade of the bud can achieve rot numbers over 100 too. it's silly to have such a huge gap. it makes me wonder if maybe fromsoft intended for this weapon's rot value to scale with arcane, but they forgot to implement it. because why else would it have the same base rot buildup as a rapier that swings more than twice as fast? and why have both weaker buildup AND weaker AR than the ripple halberd? it makes no sense.

You know, I expected messmer Soldier's axe to be better than this on keen and lightning considering warped has no dexterity scaling to begin with. But after going on build planners it seems not to be the case. So I suppose until further notice warped is just the best axe, period.
