Anyone who looks at titles like World and Rise, and says to themselves, "Yeah, this looks just as difficult as Freedom Unite." needs to be admitted to a mental institution. Not to say that all QoL changes are all bad all the time, but come on. The fact alone that you can do things like use items while moving (and without stopping to flex) is quite objectively easier. Monsters auto track, auto identify, and are shown from the beginning of a hunt. Mobility mechanics are better than they've ever been. Hub quests actually scale to player count. You're given a literal visual marking/indicator when enemies are capturable instead of having to gauge it off damage marks and exhaustion... There is a laundry list a mile long of objective reasons as to why the game is easier and easier, at a fundamental and mechanical level regardless of Hunter skill. Whether you like that or don't, or if it's a good thing or not, is a different discussion entirely... But if the only question being asked is "Is Monhun getting easier?" Then the answer is undoubtedly "Yes."

Honestly, I've begun to notice after replaying through some of the older titles that monster attack patterns and habits are a lot more predictable and easy for me to react to, but i find myself being woefully underprepared more often due to the last of inventory qol, which makes my hunts more frustrating in that regard. So honestly, i think the hardest part of the older titles is the ritual of preparation. I do sort of wish prep played a heavier role in World and Rise while still being convenient as it is, but the actual fights feel a lot harder now in terms of pattern recognition and complexity. So the new games are easier in that you're less likely to be unprepared and if you leave anything out, its easy enough to fix mid hunt.

Yes, but not by enough for genuine complaint. Difficulty to a veteran is entirely different than it is for a new player unless you are perpetually bad. You will always have the fundamentals and that takes you a long way in this series.

13:50 Man, I love the Methods of Mayhem CD, it's so good. Klepacki and Bailey used it quite heavily on the Red Alert and Half-Life soundtracks, and I like those soundtracks very much. I also find it somehow funny that the Mirai Nikki ending "Blood Teller" used the "Overwhelm and Destroy 81-07" sample (together with the "Shocking 81-08" sample) from Methods of Mayhem, 20:08 Ha, I've heard that sample previously in a track by SFX (early Astral Projection) titled, well, We Are Controlling Transmission. Cool seeing it here.

I started with MH world then rise. Lots of players kept saying old MH games are so much harder than current ones, so I tried them. They were not. To me, as I already spent over 3K hours on world alone I actually found the older games differently not as hard as world if not the same.

For example, a lot of people brought up the fact that you cant move while drinking a potion or sharpening in older games. However they dont mention that you can get out of the zone, do all that, come back with zero consequences.

Because in monster hunter, the character doesn’t level up. The player does and the levels are transferable for the most part to another monster hunter game.

If im gonna be honest, if the monster hunter series had consistent hit boxes like fromsoft games and god of war series and the nioh series (not saying they are all bad, world has some of the best like alatreon and also some of the worst like tigrex) then the game would be alot easier and more fun than it already is.

I have over 2000h on MHFU and I can tell you Lunastra, Kushala and Rajang are really harder in World. You have new tools to fight against those stronger monsters but if you don't use any mantle or palicoes it's really hard even if you can perfectly evade plesioth hipcheck in FU

As someone who started on 4 Ultimate then went to Rise I found out it's better to bring extra heals like I bring potions, mega potions, etc including ones that heal others along with cure, boosting powder because sometimes other players don't run them in their play style but I find them to be helpful and make it easier for us to recover from potential mistakes and the moment I see my health drop and the monster isn't blind I use flash bangs so I can get away and heal up or if someone sees my health drop too low for comfort they heal me as i would do, Rise is the game i recommend for beginners since it's more forgiving and has it easier to learn weapons because i was an insect glaive not knowing anything to a switch axe main that went back to 4U to defeat it and it's also taught me the value of armor skills and which ones work for my style like i always run evade extender and recovery speed as my comfort skills

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if this whole fan project actually inspired if only in part what the actual Persona 5 would become later on, and I do hope it also influences future games as well. Really through, a Persona game where you actually work alongside NYARLATHOTEP of all beings would be WILD! GOOD LUCK!

Huh. Can you beat MHW Fatalis with the MH1 SnS moveset? Yes but it will be a very bad fight. Change is good, in fact as a MH1 veteran, changes are great! I once grinded 2 weeks straight killing Golden Rathian for that Ruby. Now I can just grind a few hours and focus more on difficult hunts.

20:52 this little loop itself is definitely just an edited version of the drums from led zeppelin's when the levee breaks, it's gotta be, wouldn't be the first time it's been reused in other songs (pearl by chapterhouse comes to mind)
