I also turned down rehab just like you got out on my own got home and had beer in the fridge instantly picked it up and threw it all in the dumpster after going to a crisis center for 5 days I just knew it was time to be done and I've been sober ever since people say I'm crazy for doing that especially having beer in my fridge I just knew I was finally done at the age of 46 and it all started with a little partying in high school with all the athletes

I am almost 11months no alcohol and I know what you mean about awkard moments. I am wondering how I will maybe get back out there and date without alcohol. one thing for sure I love being by myself and with my older kids so really that is all that matters. the awkward moments will pass just fine my daughter(2 years sober) told me. great video. we all need a pat on the back

I struggled for years trying to quit, I watched this video maybe a year ago, and unfortunately failed at quitting on my own. I ended up in the hospital early this year with multiple organ failure! If you are reading this and are struggling, please get the help you need! It is not worth it. I’m thankful I was able to get through that horrible wake up call and can proudly say I’m 5 months sober and never looking back! It is not worth it.

It's unlikely anyone will see this comment on a 6 year old video, but I've been in the mood for your fun Arizona adventure / life videos again, and this particular video reminds me that I've wanted a jeep for years, but almost everyone I know react with: "Oh no! They're not stable!" "They roll over!" "They break down a lot!" Meanwhile I see more and more Rubicons here in Canada and its usually some ordinary car that I see in the ditch or the side of the highway. [Edit: there's a video in the list at the side that is called "Don't Buy A Jeep Unless It Has This Engine". Sheesh! 😆 ]

If you are considering living in a remote rural location better spend some time there first. The constant wind, brutal heat and sun, washboard roads will wear you down. May people build a place and then abandon them.

Bro, my background is so much like yours, just a few years earlier, and kept going a few years longer. Didnt hit quite the depth of bottom as you did, but low enough. Over a year sober now, and i remember watching this video when i was struggling through my first week of sobriety over memorial day weekend 2023.

This video and some of the experiences were deeply relatable - even down to that particular style of panic attack you were experiencing. Clenching so tight that my damn muscles would be sore. Happened to me numerous times driving as well and that’s just no fun. Thanks for the upload even if it was an eternity ago - recently on the sober wagon and it’s great to know I’m not alone out there in the struggles.

Man in Germany alcohol is so ridiculously cheap. It would make it harder to resist if they would make this poison just a little bit less accessible. A Smirnoff Wodka is around 10 Dollars, Wine you can get for 2-3 Dollars and a cheap beer for 40 Cents ...

Definitely compact and minimalist, maybe a swing out storage container would free up space inside. I would want an inside shower for that reason. I wonder what MPG’s on a loaded small rig like this gets? I feel like a wide body with diesel power would be my choice for more interior space to invite people in to gather.
