Hi, I'm Ashley Rae. I document my year-round fishing adventures! Thanks for joining me 😊
I enjoy figuring out the next bite and documenting my year-round fishing adventures via my kayak, boat, from shore, and out on the ice. I'm based out of Ottawa, Canada, and love to travel and explore new waters. I also enjoy putting together instructional, walkthrough, and installation videos occasionally to help others save some time or answer questions about some of the products and techniques I use.
When I'm not on the water creating videos, I'm writing fishing articles for publications/websites internationally, and hosting fishing seminars at trade shows and events.
I'm grateful for the support from my partners: Yamaha Motor Canada, SeaArk Boats, Power-Pole, Garmin, Fogh Marine, Hobie Kayaks, Striker Brands, Mustang Survival, and Otter Outdoors.

Thank you, Art! 🙌 I hope you're having a great weekend!
Wow what a catch. You always get the big ones. We got 14 sockeye this week for not knowing what we were doing. Give blitz some belly rubs 👍👍👍🎣
That is awesome, Tony! Well done! I have not targeted sockeye yet! ☺️ 🐶
15 inch brook trout, musky from a kayack, big blue cats and now Tarpon. ne thing is for sure, you don't let any grass grow under your feet.
Awww thank you, Stuart! I aim to experience as much as I can ☺️🙏
@SheLovesToFish if you ever get to Destin area, look up Captain Gabriel Barns, of Lady Luck Fishing Charter. She is a kindred spirit to you I am sure.
Get it!! 👏

It's a bit wavy but successful . See the pike, huge.💪😎💯💯💯👌
@@uwegewinner6343 Thank you, Uwe! It looked bumpier than it was with the boat wake but it settled down nicely ☺️
What I can appriate is that you can do all that while standing up in a kayack. No way I can.
These kayaks are very stable! ☺️
@SheLovesToFish Not near as stable if you put a 6-3, 290 lb me in it. Hahahaha
Welcome to the Dark Side! And the Tenth Legion.
You had a good day! Love the opening!
Thank you so much! Just love frogging ☺️
Ashley, congrats, you are doing well. Keep it up 💪
Thank you, Uwe! Have a great weekend ☺️
@SheLovesTFish ♥️
I hope Eric was catching just as many 👍👍👍
Thank you, Tony! We both got into em!! Such an amazing evening ☺️
Congrats! Love your setup! Which Garmin do you use and why? Nice video!
Thank you so much! ☺️ I run the GPSMAP 8410xsv units for many of the features they have, but a big factor for me is that they allow screen recording as they have HDMI input/output. I love sharing my Livescope footage and often overlay it in my videos.
@@SheLovesToFish do you have the LVS34? Thanks for the information. I may be looking to make a change or upgrade soon.
@@JT_Fishing1 Yes, I do! That's exciting ☺️ Happy to help if you have any questions!

@@smithfamilyhomestead1515 Awww you are so sweet, thank you! More to come ☺️ I hope you're having a great summer!
I know you had that look on your face. But let me ask you you’re in a kayak how many poles do you need?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍
To be honest, I would have been fine with just a jig but I always bring way more than I need! 😆
Nice Bass... I prefer using a spinning reel. Easier to control the rod and fish.
Thank you! I had no problem bringing that fish to the net quickly (once I realized I had it on 😆). Baitcasters have stronger drags and offer more precision when casting as you can thumb the spool. I locked down the drag and pulled that fish out quickly without any issues.
@@SheLovesToFish I have a Shakespeare rod and reel combo that I bought when I was 12 (52 years ago) I've never had a problem with precision casts. I do have to open it up and re-grease it, it's getting a little squeaky in its old age. I have 4 rod and reel sets of various size/weight class, all have spinning reels. I've tried spincast reels, I found they don't hold up as well as spinning reels. I once had a baitcast reel, never could get the hang of it. The biggest reason I prefer a spinning reel set up is, you hold the rod in front of the reel, and you can either put the butt of the rod on your hip or under your forearm for better leverage when bringing in a fighter.
That's a great one Ashley. Good for you 👍 😊
Thank you so much! ☺️
great fish ash ….. i’m hoping to be a competitor in future events in big rideau best luck to ya in the future 🎣🎣
@@ryanbothwell9310 Thank you so much, Ryan! It would be great to see you there! ☺️
Where is this?
Ontario, Canada ☺️
@@SheLovesToFish where abouts in Ontario though? Roughly
@@DisplacedCzech Ottawa area.
I admire how you wait to set the hook, I am still brutal at that when top water fishing!!!
It can be tough as our instinct is normally to set the hook right away! It takes patience and practice. I hope you'll give it a go again, it's so much fun! ☺️
Did you swear Ashley?!?!
@@jimradix6684 Guilty 😬
@@SheLovesToFish Hahahaha!! I leave you alone for a couple of years and you turn into a potty mouth!!!!

WOW I know you had that fish face look when he smashed that frog. I get that same look with all the fish l catch. Way to go👍👍🎣
@@tonyjessen8204 Hahaha fish face, love it! Thank you, Tony! ☺️ I hope you guys are having a great season!
🤯 Now that is a mind-blowing catch, great job with this one. I don't think I have ever seen a bass that huge before.
Thank you so much, Shawn! They grow much, much bigger but this was my biggest of the evening ☺️

I’m going from a 16tt tiller to the 2023 version of this boat. Any advice?
Ashley, you are doing great. The Kajak is really nice. The fish huge. Congrats, Ashley, you are doing well. 🎉
