Both are excellent bikes you need both for different trails the renegade 800 is money'for value but if a 1000c comes at a good price grab it they put will put a smile on your face maintenance is a must .

almost 10 years after this video was uploaded, im betting that raptor is still running great. still got the factory torque on them head bolts. renegade has had to have new head bolts due to being removed so many times! xD

That's what I'm looking for. Durability. I have an older raptor and been thinking of getting a new one. Im crossing the renegade off my list. They're too high maintenance and not as durable.

8 years later, the Raptor is on its 3rd owner... The Renegade was most likely parted out after its 10th set of timing chains..

It's a gen 2 machine in the video so it wouldn't have that problem, at least they fixed that in 2009 and newer rotax engines..

the 1000cc sport utilities are all fun and games until you need to turn, then traditional sport quads leave them in their roost lol Can Am and Polaris can compensate in a straight line for the weight with power, but no amount of power can make 900lbs corner like 450lbs

It is kinda funny looking...especially lined up with an actual race style quad. What is you quad though? What's u got for a motor? It would have to be the baddest 490 anyone has ever seen in order to beat a renegade 1000. I have a ' slightly tuned '10 polaris outlaw 450mxr...do you think you beat me? I've been able to ride a lot of quads in my time....including many diff moded 400exs (1 fully tuned 460 ex(1 with a stroker kit), 690 tuned raptor, modified raptor 700, modded 450r, yfz450, piped banshees.....a dude I used to know owned a cr 500r(2 stroke dirtbike). Those things have more power than anyone needs. Just rediculous. Ive considered upgrading my KTM motors jug to the 510cc but my 450 was just rebuilt and power isn't my highest priority...reliability combined with power is. If I had to guess...my KTM motor is making 45+hp rn and the quad is 375lbs. The great part is its durable and doesnt have to be rebuilt every 80 hrs. I was very reluctant to buy anything polaris but am now happy I bought it.
