  Now THAT was useful, have run out of a £4.50 bottle of Pebeo drawing gum bought four years ago, and the cheapest price on eBay was £9, which to me is taking the proverbial. The problem is and happening more and more is that to get experience wit artistic materials you need to make mistakes and concentrate on your art not worrying about the cost of using the material, i.e. drawing gum. So thank you very much, will certainly try this.

  Hi Iv got one for you. Google a double rainbow or even better photo one in real time. secondly examine the top rainbow of the double rainbow. What do you notice? Answer; the top rainbow will be in reverse colours exactly like what you see in the reflection of the waters your drawing. To get to my point is what’s it reflecting of? Let me know if you want to know the answer

  Use of negative space to see the shape is quite useful, thank you for that. I love to paint, but drawing is another matter lol Drawing is the foundation for painting though so I realize it's important. Funny that this is the exact method I learned to draw horses from when I was a child, like you, and it is a rock solid way to draw. Thank you and blessings!

  I would expect the deodorant to spread around in the paint as well as get on the brush. What were the long term results?

  Once the deodorant dries it doesn’t spread, this is only a quick fix for experiments rather than for a final picture

  I would let them dry out if ur not going to use them often from fear of mold! at least in the make shift pallet it's easier to use right? i also heard a lady drops a little anti bacterial oil in her gouauche for anti molding but i cant remember the name....
