    Das K hat mir auf Anhieb am besten gefallen. Sehr harmonische Obertöne mit hellem und feinem Anschlagston. Wäre was für mich 😅

    C was my favorite. I wrote "balanced", thought it could be an Agop Trad. Jazz 22. Well, I got the brand and size.

    i picked all the AGOPS as my favorites! And the Spizzichino. Used to really love a 22 Mel Lewis I had for a while. Such a sweetheart.

    Oh I’m sure I could make them all feel right at home! There’s no way to pick a favorite because they all are so good. The 21” avedis however did surprise me❤ Thanks for posting

    They all sound really fantastic! Really nice! However, Tony usually played really large crashes. The 18" here would not have been Tony's choice for such a cymbal set. He went with 20" crash/ride types or often a big chinese-type with rivets to go along with the 22" ride.

    When we have cymbals such as these, it's almost criminal that we have to get old.

    2:22 That’s the point when you don’t think about technique and just get in the zone. Letting the music, rhythm, groove, and feel take over. Brilliant musicianship!

    how does this compare to the pre-split mel lewis?

  • @mattalpweg
    @mattalpweg6 ай бұрын

    The cymbal is still new and in comparison with older ML - pre-splits I would have to play it for a few years then a comparison would work. With the newer Mehmet or Agop as with the old pre-splits Istanbul there are very good and bad ones, almost like with the old K's Zildjian Istanbul.

    A very nice Mel Lewis and nice playing/demonstration, thanks. What is the other cymbal? Istanbul 80's crash-ride? or ride? is that 18"?

  • @mattalpweg

    Istanbul pre-split 18" inch, underside stamped with crash, from 1991 with 1'524 gr.

    @@mattalpweg Thanks. It appears to be in very good condition; at first I thought it was an "Agop signature" under too much light.
