I picked up bench #2 in March from Dan. I had a great time putting it together. Joints are very tight, and tolerances are close. The leg vice works like a dream. This bench has lifted my woodworking several levels. I also bought 2 hold fasts which were a bit tight, but with a little use working great. Far exceeded my expectations. Could not be happier. Thank you, Dan!

thank you for sharing this, much appreciated . i'm real curious about that neat vice you got there. i've just started trying step up my woodworking game, and man these C-clamps were giving me hell. i've resorted to screwing together jigs for whatever piece im messing with at the time. it would be nice to not have to do that

This looks like the current batch of axes you are offering. It looks different than the one I got a while back. Beside the grind of the cutting edge, were there changes to the handle and design of the head profile? Thanks Jason.

I wrote you two emails, each of which were not responded to. DIsheartening really. So, instead of buying, I'll be making those as I started my own smithing journey last year. Turns out, its not as difficult as I originally imagined it to be. I still like your presentation style, value system for living and supporting the folks around you. I wish you success.

I’m glad to see the difference in those. I have wondered what they would look like side by side, so I could try to see exactly what you were pointing out. Only thing I wish you had done was throw in the spoon adze to see how much smaller it is than the other two, plus the sweep of it versus the others.

I bought bench #2 from Dan. The joints are so strong, you don't even need to drive the dowes into the hidden tenon of bench top. This is the best bench I have ever worked on by far. Its extremely stout with a 5-1/2 inch thick bench top that is perfectly oriented and flush with the undercarriage, absolutely no apron, perfect for clamping your work from the legs to the bench top. Exactly what I wanted!! Thank you Dan, you built a fantastic Roubo!!

Dan was telling me about these benches when I visited him this past summer. Been buying and trading tools with him for several years, He is a great man to work with. He has a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share it with you. One suggestion I would make is plane about a 1/4" chamfer on all 4 bottom corners where the bench sits on the floor. Then if you ever have to slide it on the floor it will not chip the wood out. Glad to see you purchased one of his benches. Wishing you many, many years of happy wood working on that fine piece of work. Jim Light, Goshen, Ohio
