David Klose, a local Houstonian and World champion BBQ Pitmaster, founded BBQ Pits by Klose in 1986 with the principal of maintaining integrity of the Old Western Trail Drive style of cooking in mind.
Keeping with the spirit of the old style iron foundries, all barbecue pits are made by hand, with no machinery involved in the manufacturing process, except a welding machine. One welder to one pit, from the beginning to the end, handmade, all the way. Yet his lead time on orders is shorter than most of his competitors.
His custom cookers have included things like Chuck-Wagons, Beer-Bottles, Trains, Torpedoes and even a motorcycle sidecar barbecue pit.
David’s pits hold records for the World’s Largest Transportable Smoker & the Guinness 2005 World’s Record Holder for the Tallest Grill in the World, which was 23 feet Tall.
