I'm a white Australian and we have nothing to say sorry for. We didn't do it and it was justified anyway because most indigenous family's were horrible to each other and they still r. Most of the kids that were taken into white family's had much better lives then they would have.

Indigenous children were happy with their parents and I think the government should not get involved in family matter unless it serious. The problem with people like Mai is that they never get the land title under their name. They see a piece of property, make it their own, and live there for decades. By Cambodian law, if you live on a piece of land for a certain amount of years, you are entitled to claim it as yours and file a deed for it. They are poor and cannot or would not spend money on such paperwork. Unfortunely, the government can claim that property at anytime they want. She is lucky to be compensated with piece of land.
