The Powers of our world don’t care about fixing and doing what is right and healthy for our planet, they just care about fulling their and their colleagues pockets . It’s so sad 😢.

Mexico will figure out a way to extort money from Brandon to pay this project off.

Yes, Egypt could build a parallel Canal at way less cost but it would do nothing for Gaza. Yes, in parts of the Negev, the land elevation (500m+) is a natural roadblock. Massive, massive excavation is preferred to complicating lock systems (like in Panama). It might take longer to build, and that would give more Gazans a chance to oarticipate and own it, especially if we consider building it closely along the Egyptian border from the Philadelphi Corridor, Gaza right down to Aqaba, (expanding/repurposing the American temp dock in the Mediterranean as a beginning of the North entrance).

Yes! Rename it the "Gazan Canal". Give every Gazan a shovel. Invite Gazans to share in raising funds, planning, building and sharing profits. Give them a new identity based on a capitalist investment in which they can participate and accrue profits. A timely project, well executed that will take almost a generation to build and will provide positive inspiration to all Gazan school children, replacing UNWRA-seeded hatred (and UNWRA itself!). Invite Canadian open-pit mining specialists to assist and invite Canadian-Gazan foreign aid to be earmarked specifically to this project. Sell it in terms of how many Great Giza Pyramids per year need to be excavated, by the vibrant 2-million-strong Gazan workforce. This is a truly liberating vision for entrapped young Gazans who would welcome a chance to better their lives, and the lives of their families (and eventually shed their inherited refugee status, creating their own wealth as young entrepreneurs, interested in expanding regional trade in a new safe and peaceful Era).

It s not the Americans but the French that started the canal of Panama, inspired by the success of the Suez.

BRILLIANT ON EVERY LEVEL. Israel is a brilliant country; those who hate it are jealous of people that work hard.

If Israel sells investment into the canal to friendly countries it will create indirect protection of the project. It could also sell small shares to the popullus so that many small families are assisted toward prosperity.

It's a brillian project, well thought out by a country of thinkers. If it lowers the sea level in the East by a few inches, even better. Useless Gaza will finally benefit humanity and Israel will have a security buffer. It will send people who are already jealous of Israel and the Jews (half the world) into an uncontrollable rage, too! Very satisfying and a good investment.

The problem is that you either need rail that goes up to the USA, or another barge on the other side. The rail may be quick, but add the unload on one side, and reload on the other side to the time.

At best/worst it will supplement the canal. There is a lot of backlog at the canal and it costs a huge amount to traverse the isthmus via the canal so an alternate route will help with the backlog and lower the costs. Mexico has a notorious problem with corruption which they will need to restrain or eliminate. Otherwise the train could be hijacked for ransom.

Great decision for Israel to go ahead and do this because it cannot depend of the US any more because of political concerns. When a country does not have you back politically you are doomed to fail if you become dependent on them.
