The key is to remember is that nothing is free. Would you rather have higher payouts and be reaposible to take care of your healthcare cost, or lower payouts and someone else takes care of your heathcare cost? The fights themselves are the payout generators so even making the organization that hosts them have to spread Pay and benefits way out in front and/or behind those events creates complexity which generally adds risk, lowers the payout amt, and even lowers overall payout potential to any individual fighter.

I love to watch UFC fights. That said, despite the sad piano music in the background, I don't feel bad for people that "don't make enough money for fighting." Being an actor is no different. There are a handful of actors that make millions, and there are thousands that barely get by. In both cases, not my problem. Maybe you should choose a better line of work.
