    I love mine! I use a Tone King II Iron Man Attenuator and a Maxon OD808 for a boost. Between the amp, the Iron Man, and the boost, there are so many tonal options. I love it!

    This is a superb comparison. Thank you for positing this. I'm looking to add the Sheriff to my Duchess head for a couple of extra dirt channels so it's super helpful to hear how close it is. Have you tried it with a Klon or tube screamer-type pedal?

    @@somerandomguy180 kraken is more modern high-gain (like a 5150) in the second channel, whereas the sheriff is like a modded Plexi in the second channel and less-tight sounding. Depends on taste and or usage I would say!

    @@olirossow3179 That's good to know the differences. My problem is I like both sounds :) 70s rock/metal and 80s thrash. In an ideal world, I'd have both, but finances are apparently a thing, lol.

    @@ppa6964 actually not a bad setup at all… if you want to try these dimarzio Pickups, it should get you close. I believe the super distortion is also more hot than a PAF-style humbucker. Maybe try to add a Marshall-Style Distortion-Pedal in front of the amp.

    @@ppa6964 Yes mids are important for a „cut through“-tone. I favourite Delay Settings around 500ms…

    @@franciscovalenzuela152 you’re talking about the sheriff not being analog? It is, 1000%. There is also a full pedal-amp version with a built-in solid state power amp, but this version is just the preamp.

    Thank you, glad you liked it. Yes, I would recommend the Softube JMP 2203 Plug-in. I did a comparison between my amp and the plug-in (you find it on my channel). I have to say if I would have set the input gain a bit higher, it would have sounded more close. There is another comparison on KZread that is better than mine. And of course my last tip is the neural amp modeler (free). You will find some good Jmp 2203 captures on tonehunt for sure. In general I would recommend the neural amp modeler for very realistic tones.

    @@olirossow3179 Thank you. I did hear the comparison videos you posted. Will definitely pick up the Softube JMP 2203 or maybe the whole Amp Room Marshall Edition which is on sale quite often. I hadn't looked into the Neural Amp Modeler so will check that out as well.

    Nice comparison. Subjectively speaking, I'll take the amp sound...more full and organic, which you will never ever get in pedal form. Glad I saved my pennies to have a pair of JMP 1968 era Plexis...

    I think for digital stuff the EHX Black Finger or the Ibanez NTS are the best pedals to give it some more "life" to the sound.

    I do not see a UA Apollo interface listed in your gear used. I thought these Softube plugins required it. Are these plugins native now and any interface will work because the plugins re running off the computer's CPU/RAM ?

    Yes, you can get them all individually, no matter what interface you have. I believe this one is included with the apollo?

    Where in Mannheim was this show? I was stationed in Mannheim/Sandhofen/Coleman Barracks and saw many concerts there and in Ludwigshafen. Best shows in Europe were just a train or rental car away. 🤘🤘🤘

    Good comparison, same phrase and side by side switching between amps. It's easy to see the difference. Can you redo the test but with adding input level for the vst? It also would be cool if you record two type of samples normal like in your video and the second played the same riff but with the quieter sound of attack. The reason of quieter playing It's interesting to listen how accurate the vst responses the dynamics of the input signal.

    Great plying my man. I order a Dimarzio SD for bridge and Paf pro for neck for my 1998 Gibson R9. I hope it's a great combination

    Tone is the same, but you should add input level into the plugin to nailed the same level as it is through the real amp. So the difference is only in input level.

    I'm an amp purist. Nothing beats the sound of the amp with a mic on the cabinet. I have a 1976 2203 with the matching 1960A cabinet. I bought it from a friend in 1980, for $600.00. It's been a war horse. The amp is a screamer!

    Yeah me too. I Love analog stuff. 600 bucks, that’s a goddamn steal. Those were different times. Nowadays in good condition probably around 3000.

    I used an all maple guitar with dimarzio super distortion pick up, and sounds too fat and creamy, I will try others guitars today. and how Nam amaze me is that you can really feel the difference of different guitars, not like other plug in which sounds all the same

    Do you have to use a impulse responses for certain profiles? I've noticed others do and others don't. I think I'm going crazy with the profiles and differences 😅

    You should use one. I used an external IR Loader. It’s an amp-only profile, not a whole rig.

    Yes, Not all the time in this clip but most of the time. I opened a new instance of NAM and use a Boss SD-1 profile in front. Works great!

    Because in some other external IR-loaders, you have more control over the IRs. You can compare them or „scroll“ through folders more easily etc. Plus, NAM sometimes even crashed when I added the IR.

    @@VincentVegardSvart You just open up a new instance of NAM (with the SD-1 or any other boost-Profile) before (or in logic above) the Instance with the actual NAM-Amp-profile. You don’t have a lot of control but some people have profiled lots of different settings on the pedals.

    It appears to me the real amp has a higher high in the spectrum. As stated, that can be fixed using a eq on the plugin. Great video.

    Sounds great but I’d crank the plugin input to match the gain of the real amp to make it a fairer test
