Dobyns rods by far are the best on the market IMO 👊👊
Been really enjoying this series and hoping to open another can here... but would you consider these to double as jig rods as well?
NAILED IT! That DX 784C is what I use for the big worm as well as big jigs when going deep. Can't beat it!
you'll need to throw the kistler z bone 7-3 lite medium heavy and comeback...the kistler & g.loomis collab.
I'm curious too see a flipping/punching rod video. I'm pretty sure I know atleast 1 that will make it
Whats a good rod for a 6" and 8" magdraft rod, owner beast hook
I agree I got a slx dc for my birthday there and they where so much help
I have the 6th Sense ESP 6'10 m/f I got for jerkbaits, meh.... but absolutely love it for shallow cranks! No issues pulling in a 6.8lb Lmb on a 6th Curve Finesse SB and a 30" Atl. Striper on a DT6
Largemouth or smallmouth Bass in the fish tank.
Fish tanks are too much trouble. Just need an American Flag mural. 😅
GLX 895 got a great deal from ALFC on the previous gen. very sensitive! 3/8 tg weight 5/0 owner OFWG hook Berk 10" power worm (any color) gets bit!
How much does that loomis weigh ?
What are the odds you upload this the day after I buy a shallow cranking rod. I went with the Ark Randall Tharp crankbait rod. I think it's the 'B-hittay' model. Which also doubles as a great chatter-bait rod from what I read review wise.
After watching 3 minutes into the video, I found that you pointed out that this video would not be for what I was looking for. Nice to know information anyway! If you all respond, what would you say about my choice?
@@DividedWeAllFallexcellent choice. The B-Hittay does make a fantastic bladed jig rod too.
@@bcdolne Thanks brother! Appreciate the feedback, and I'm looking forward to trying it!
Definitely stay native species in the tank
A stripper pole that resembles a casting rod! 😁
IMX 847, MB Flatside special it's always backordered or sold out.
Most things are always backordered. TW has them but this outfit has terrible inventory control. Waited months for many things. Still backordered
@@bigguy7618 I meant it more as it's a must have square bill rod. Since its always out of stock. American Legacy has treated me well, great deals on used rods and sales.
Pirahna
I like the St Croix Victory Power Target Cranker. Don’t really use squarebills a lot so my opinion probably isn’t the best on this but I found a section of 5-7 ft boulders on Grand Traverse that I just ripped that rod through and had a smallies coming from every direction crashing that bait. Bought it initially for throwing DT10s primarily. Thanks for hooking me up with the rod guys!
I've owned several 736 and 735 Glass Dobyns rods and yes they are good chatterbait rods . I use the Kistler Feel and Reel now and am more happy with them
My GLX heavy F/P for a heavy fast it still has very good sensitivity it’s 7’5” and throws baits extremely well. Not as sensitive as my 892 GLX (that rod is insane) but very good. The GLX series is still a solid choice imo..
I got the G Loomis NRX+....So...
I use Ark Invoker 7'1" heavy action. I think the best!
Great job
You're absolutely right. I AM looking for a smooth transition from tip to butt.
Another good video. Next video for the best rod series: Best Frog Rod.
I take the 7’6”H Shimano Expride B over Dobyns any day of the week for sensitivity and power for $280
When you break that Expride get ready to deal with paying out of pocket money because that 1 year warranty wears out fast…
Loomis hit it out of the park with the new GLX 863 DSR
Couldn't agree more... The new GLX line is hard to beat
I use the DOBYNS Champion Extreme 784 for C Rigs… it is an awesome C Rig & Big Worm rod.
What’s the best Carolina rig rod? Old school technique still catch fish
Still love dragging the ole ball and chain around! For my money , it's hard to beat the action of the Loomis 894c JWR in whatever series fits your budget.
Can you tell me how much that 7'2 MHG Poison Adrena weighs?
Great insight Brino. Tell Bob to stop hitting the weights and his shirts would fit
Hey man! G.Loomis engineer here. I'm just curious why you think the GLX 841S SJR is better for mid strolling than the 891S JWR? We designed the 891 to be a mid strolling rod. Thanks for the feedback!
In our experience and research, mid-strolling is most effective when utilizing a 6'6" to 7'0" rod. Some of those in Japan are even using a 6'0" model for this presentation. General consensus seems to be a 6'10" rod is ideal in the US market. If we're talking about the Damiki rig, the 891s JWR is the 2nd best Damiki rig rod on the planet (only to the legendary NRX+ 901S 😏)
Agreed on the Croix Give me a yell on anything on the Smallmouth side 😁 Keep them coming Brian 👍
Nice video and great audio! 😂 hows the GLX 841 SJR compare to the NRX+ 821 NRR? I like that NRR a lot for shaking anything.
Would you recommend any Poison Adrenas or Exprides? If so which ones and why? Thanks
Poison Adrena 6'10" Ultra Light Medium.. it's got a really really soft tip and will be extremely sensitive. It's on the lighter side power wise so as long as you aren't throwing any heavy ball heads you will love it! If you want an expride option, you can go with the Expride 6'10" Medium SB!
Great selection on all of these rods, and I hope you slay those Kentucky Lake LedgeHawgs by the way 🍀🎣🍀😎😜💯
Great job Love the videos! Keep it going
Great vid, Brian!
Love those Falcons
Awesome video. Thanks for the info. I have 2 Zodias rods. 7ft and the 7’11” you featured. Love, love my 7ft for medium depth and square bills. I would like to try these others rods to compare these to. Too bad there isn’t a program to try before you buy with rods. I’d pay a subscription for that privilege. On another note, I really think it’s counter productive for people in the comment section to say the rods each individual use are the best out there without truly trying all the others out. Maybe there are a few anglers who have truly tried all the options but I believe they are few and far between unless they are a pro. I love my Zodias rods, but like this video shows, there are others possibly as good.
Appreciate the support! Zodias glass rods are incredible, we have a ton of guys at the shop using those this season! We love when u guys share your input, it's always good to get advice and opinions that might improve the sport!
Cb804XP Cb805XP! No comparison
tough to beat those options!
I've been throwing my glide & soft baits on 1 set up last 2 n half years. It's the original line of Diawa tatula series, not the new current series. It's a 7' 8" heavy mod-fast action swimbait rod rated up to 6oz. I use a Diawa lexa 300 with 20lb floro. It's been excellent set up for me throwing K9's, baitsanity explorer gen2, & chimera shad, defiant 210's, 8" magdrafts, 8" savage gears swimbaits. It's got plenty of backbone but soft tip for hard baits. Last year my 5 biggest largemouth were 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 - 11.4
LOVE these rod series videos!
many more to come!
How about a swimbait rod video? I 5-6" Magdraft and the Freestyle version..
coming very soon!
Imx pro, 906 cbr!
definitely agree!
So I still fish from my 1996 Ranger. That means a 7' rod is the longest rod I can put in my box. Does nobody make a 7'6" medium fast action rod that's retractable, or whatever it's called, I have 3 heavy action flippin' sticks that take up no room in my rod locker?
The Japs does make travel rods for that specs bud
unfortunately the industry standard now is one piece rods and they no longer make the telescopic rod options for most manufacturers!
The Megabass OrochiXX Launcher $250 the best deep crank rod on the market!! Composite baby 7’11”
without a doubt! another great option
I didn’t spend $300 on my deep crank Megabass rod I spent $600 lol Megabass Evoluzion White Python lolol
lol we love to hear it! that white python is no joke!
What lb test are you throwing on the 806cb? I’ve tried 10lb fluoro but have issues with it breaking when I bomb a cast. I don’t have the same issues with the 805cb.
something to consider: the 805cb has a much softer tip than the 806cb which means the rod is going to load up much more and will inevitable put less stress on the knot or line when casting.. maybe try going up in line weight! We prefer to use something around the 20lb flouro marker!
The audio is only playing from the left channel.
we will look into this and correct on future videos! thanks for the feedback
