I've been throwing my glide & soft baits on 1 set up last 2 n half years. It's the original line of Diawa tatula series, not the new current series. It's a 7' 8" heavy mod-fast action swimbait rod rated up to 6oz. I use a Diawa lexa 300 with 20lb floro. It's been excellent set up for me throwing K9's, baitsanity explorer gen2, & chimera shad, defiant 210's, 8" magdrafts, 8" savage gears swimbaits. It's got plenty of backbone but soft tip for hard baits. Last year my 5 biggest largemouth were 7.4 - 8.05 - 8.6 - 9.3 - 11.4

Whats a good rod for a 6" and 8" magdraft rod, owner beast hook

Great stuff guys. Great company. That HMG- how does that compare to the Dobyns Fury 795 SB rod (never held the Champ 795)? Any idea how much it weighs? It'd be cool if you mentioned rod weights in these videos. Thanks!

the dobyns 795 has slightly more power and a stiffer tip.. the hmg is gonna max out around 4 oz whereas the 795 will max around 5 oz.. weight is very similar in hand

All these casting rods need a comfortable handle like that of the Tatula. It makes no sense to make straight handles or even tapered. Isn't about time the technology advances?

Ratings differ from company to company in the same ratings. There's really no way to tell or get the perfect tod unless you've tested it your on the water.
