    The Slipstream S-03 windshield used to mount differently on my 1992 750 Nighthawk, so I had to watch your video to make sense of the new instructions. The brackets used to attach to the headlight bracket bolts on the fork, the windshield was positioned in front of the brackets, and the mounts on the handlebars used to be rotated 180 degrees so the thumbscrews were facing the back of the bike. Why they can't include photos of the way it's supposed to be mounted in the instructions, rather than paying someone to drawing confusing diagrams, makes no sense to me. Thanks for the video.

    It would look better with round headlight. Of course you had to get rid of the original tank and side panel, and replace them with nice ones to make it look good. Probably seat would not fit then.

    According to specifications I found on the internet the engine has only 54 HP. This is true? The question is why there is a huge difference to the competitors of the time. CBR had 85.

  • @Hpynos2010
    @Hpynos2010 Жыл бұрын

    The FZ 600 had a simpler engine design, air-cooled with 2 valves per cylinder and smaller carbs. The CBR and other competitors sported bigger carburetors, liquid cooling and 4-valve engines that made substantially more power. The FZ was quite simply outgunned in the horsepower wars.

  • @alexjimenez73
    @alexjimenez73 Жыл бұрын

    @@Hpynos2010 You're right. But what a strange strategy from Yamaha. They used the XJ series engine (standard bikes) in a race replica and, instead of increasing the power, they reduced it.

  • @Hpynos2010
    @Hpynos2010 Жыл бұрын

    @@alexjimenez73 The FZ600 was based on the 1987 Japanese market FZ400. The FJ600-based air-cooled engine (with its smaller carbs) was the only thing around at the time that would fit the small confines of that frame.

    Hey, I’ve been thinking about converting my Vespa Grande to electric. Roughly how much have you spent on the conversion?

  • @historichomestead
    @historichomestead2 жыл бұрын

    Why convert it? The Grande is a great moped. And with a few cheap upgrades can do 45 and climb some pretty good hills with a 234 pound rider. And gas is a whole lot quicker to get you back on the road than batteries.

    Install the harness from the engine side. if you can, it would be useful to have a helper in the cockpit to help pull it through.
