Hi Laura, I’ve noticed I’m not receiving your replies and comments. I have a question this morning my flour tortillas came out very tough and rubbery. The only thing I did differently was that I let the dough rest for about 4 hours maybe that did it. I don’t know.

What kind of chili powder do you use?
Have you tried toasting the flour? It adds a deep flavor to the polvorones.
The beef feet are not in the recipe listed. can you edit it please?

Hi Laura I’m an old man in my late sixties. When I was a child only a few women could bake pan de campo. Now I can’t find anyone that knows how would it be possible that you could make a video on it. Mind you they used to bake it in their ovens not like the cowboys in a cast iron Dutch oven out in the range. I remember it was so delicious. Thanks Laura!❤

I've been missing my gramas cooking. Growing up we always had beans, rice, and tortillas 😂 which I hated! But now, I miss it and regret taking her cooking for granted. I couldn't find her recipe but this is it!!! She used comino but she would crush it in a molcajete with garlic and pepper. Thank you!!!!! 🙏🏼
Hi Laura I followed all your instructions to a T. Expect I used a lean New York Strip for the meat cubes and it came out tough and dry. I wonder what I did wrong?

Yes I do I add a paper towel to catch excess water.

I gave my mom back in the day the idea of using the Tortillera. We were using a spoon to spread the dough. What you do is put the the corn husk then lay the dough in the corn husk and press down to spread the dough in the corn husk, just like if you were getting ready to make corn tortillas.
