Great video, lovely edited. Just got the a6700 and looking forward to start learning to use it. Used GoPro up to now so a huge step for me moving from GoPro to APS-C. First observation is the filming takes longer time as you not only have to think of the framing, but also the ISO, F-Stop and VND setting 😊Again, nice video 👍

Sony readout speed sucks either in the R series, or the default series, Canon EOS R5 still does better with a 2020 older camera, Lumix S5 II does better too 20 fps like the Sony a9 stacked sensor... why do they keep it at a higher price ? They are just lazy to release firmware update to use the full potential of the Bionz XR so they use slow components

Great video, thank you Andrew. I'm a beginner with my first full frame camera so all tips are very welcome. My interests are landscapes and astrophotography. I have a FE 28 - 70mm f3.5 - f5.6 OSS lens and that's it.. Could you recommend a lens to me? Thanks in advance.

Feel like I shouldn't be here, being an avid Olympus OMD user, but I like the approach to photography Andrew uses. So I will sit quietly in the background, learning from you Andrew, photography is my passion, and now I have retired I have the time to devote myself to this most engrossing of hobbies.

Hi,thanks for your interesting review. If you had to choose between the Sony A7C and the A6700 for taking static photos most of the time ( landscapes, cityscapes, architecture ,interiors and things like that),which camera would you choose? Thanks!

Thank you for introducing the bulb mode as I do take some astrophotography ! As a a6400 shooter looking for a second camera for not swapping lens between birding 70-350 & 18-135 general travelling or even 11 1.8 for landscape and a quick selfie should be a nice choice~

Love to see beautiful WA. How is the video compared to ZV E1? I’m considering upgrading from my ZV E10. Mostly do Instagram music videos and done stills. I have a good collection of APSC lenses but open up selling them to get ZVE1 + 28 - 70 sigma 2.8 as my only lens if it makes more sense compared to A6700.

Any problems with overheating ? That’s the rumor I hear but I think there’s probably exaggeration lol. I’m trying to decide to just upgrade my APSC body or switch to full frame. Lol financially APSC would suit me better. 😂

For me that question was easy to answer, none. You see I don't own a Sony camera, I have a bunch of cameras from Panasonic, Pentax ,Olympus, Fujifilm and one Nikon ZF. The cameras cover full frame, APSC and micro 4/3 and I can use any one of them to photograph any subjects.

Information for those who are chasing pixels... The sufficient number of pixels depends on the needs of the camera user. It is also worth remembering that the quality is influenced by many technical indicators of the camera, including the size of the matrix, the selected lens and, of course, the camera settings. The higher the resolution of the matrix, the better the quality of the large-size printed photographs and the more opportunities for subsequent processing of the photograph in a photo editor. For those who, in principle, do not print or process photographs, but view them only on digital devices and post them online, even 5 megapixels will be enough; If images are post-processed, their resolution is somewhat reduced. Especially when framing. This means that in order to process photos and maintain acceptable quality for viewing them on a computer and printing small-sized photos, you need a camera with 7 megapixels. With this indicator, the resolution of the images will be about 3072 by 2304 pixels. This means that it will be possible to safely process them, remove unnecessary objects around the edges, without deteriorating the final frames. After this, you can print pictures measuring 10 by 15 and even 20 by 30; For those who prefer more detailed pictures, it is better to purchase cameras with a matrix resolution of at least 12 megapixels. Such a camera will allow you to take frames in which every detail is visible, and then enlarge and crop them if necessary. However, such cameras are more expensive, so it’s worth weighing the pros and cons. And also decide whether strong detail is really necessary for amateur photography. Professionals, of course, need cameras with a resolution of at least 12 megapixels. But a resolution of more than 20 megapixels is not particularly in demand even in professional circles. These are more advertising gimmicks for manufacturers. Moreover, photographers who made the comparison point out that 24 megapixels is redundant for cameras with a cropped matrix. Lenses cannot cope with so many pixels, more digital noise appears, and frames are processed more slowly due to their large weight. In addition, the images at 12 and 24 megapixels have almost identical detail. Author: Sergey
