The Gulf of Mexico is the ninth-largest body of water in the world and a giant laboratory to explore the greatest questions facing our oceans today. The Harte Research Institute at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, founded in 2000, works across the Gulf-bringing together three countries and multiple disciplines to create science-based solutions that have a lasting impact. Because we believe what’s good for the entire Gulf is good for us all.

Another amazing informative video, can't wait for the next one!
"And these things sting real bad." Promptly picks it up.
always a good day when a new beachcombing episode comes out!
I once went to the beach and my family all crowded around a small area. I see this thing, and 4-year-old me is like "BLUE FISHIE ON BLUE FISHIE LINE" and grab it by "the fishing line". One word still sticks in my mind: "Ow"
Ah, such a beautiful little eldritch horror.
Just another reason why I stopped surfing. Got out alive!
Dang nature, you scary!
I saw one of these stuck on the beach in ormond beach. I never knew what it was or of it was alive, thanks for teaching me! I really learned something & will save it next time
I thought they were juvenile Portuguese man o' war... Nine or ten years ago, I had collected a dozen an put them on a separate hexagonal fish tank, hoping it would grow into a full Portuguese man o' war. It never did. It stung like someone struck my hand with whip. Of the doezen I collected, most died but three survived for about 3or 4 months, I thought some requirement was missing for it to become "an adult". Now I come to find out it's whole different species, but related to the Portuguese man o' war. Anyways, I named the 3 surviving Spaghetti Monsters, _La Niña, La Pinta, La Santa Maria_ for giggles.
when I was a kid I got stung by this mf, I didn't know what they were and I saw something blue floating not knowing it was an organism, I thought it was a bottle or a toy and I touched it and it stung, damn, the pain was quite something
I saw one in the Ocean one time North of Venezuela. Very cool.
I thought Man O'Wars were toxic as hell.
Haha had to laugh when he said you don't want to touch any part of it. In Australia kids for generations have been running along the beach popping them with their feet.
Wait what are those spaghetti monsters? Never heard of them before

if you get stung, you need to find someone to pee on it
Looks like an eye ball with an optic nerve attached
"Oh and these are some 'Spaghetti Monsters I found,'" casually without explaining anything about these one-eyed pasta monsters - what??
Wow, you should have genuinely excluded the last warning. People should leave them alone because they are living being, not because they sting.
Yep, once you get stung by a Blue Bottle you never ever forget it. Blue Bottles are the smaller species of a Man O War. These look like monsters, the tentacles are much bigger vs a Blue Bottle.
in german u call these portuguese galley *porugisische galeere}
Love fun science programs, but when the filmer is more interested in making sure his face is in every shot. NO THANK YOU, not a fan of narcissists.
The thing is having a bad enough day already without you coming along and poking it in the balls.
My favourite weapon in call of duty mobile turns out to be a spaghetti monster 😞

"Oh, I got stung all over my belly last time." *proceeds to lay down and get stung again* "You do NOT want to touch these guys." *proceeds to touch it a lot then gets surprised when it stings him* Steve Irwin, you are not.

Wow it's crazy these videos don't have more views, found this channel randomly and it's definitely one of my new favorites. Keep up the incredible work!
“You don’t want to touch these.” Proceeds to tickle it
What beach is this? So i can avoid it!
pretty cool find. I bet it got washed off a ship.
I know God made everything for a reason but this has to been the closest thing to an abomination in nature.
