The ears on your right actually did not pollinate and wouldn't have filled out even with more time unfortunately. It often helps to plant corn in short rows 4-6' long and at least 4 rows next to each other (18-24" apart) for more nearly even pollination. If you only have two rows or even if it was just planted too far apart it will generally struggle to pollinate the whole ear.

Another tip. If not sure, only take 1 and check it. But majority of the time if the hairs are gone and start to brown on the ends. It's ready. Corn is pretty forgiven if you wait longer where the worst case is bugs like caterpillars get inside.

people need to stop saying talk to your doctor. doctors dont deal with herbs generally and therefore would usually tell you to stay away from it. its all a big evil circle, before a doctor can tell you it is safe it would have to come before the FDA who would also think about how to make money off of it and if they cant then they will probably find a reason people should not take it. so the only way to keep a herb legal is for the FDA to stay away from it and tell people talk to their doctor which in turn will turn people away from it.

Not a big fan of those spongy-ish rubber handles like on the puukko. Yeah, they're grippy for a while. But I live in the tropics--heat and high humidity--and all that kind of stuff breaks down really fast. I had expensive armored binoculars--supposed to be bulletproof--and the rubber alternately dried and cracked and then melted and turned sticky. I had to cut away all the armoring to salvage the damn things. Considerable effort and the results were not so inspiring. Also, anything glued together will fail in that environment. Even epoxies.

This might be a great place to ask this question since it’s focused on California poppies. I was fortunate enough to get 50 to 70 plants that someone was thinning out. They advised to throw them out in my open area as they dried. The seeds would germinate themselves. First of all I hope that’s correct but more importantly, my question is I used to use weed killer in the same area and now I am struggling, it’s impossible to hand pull the weeds in this large area. How do you all get rid of weeds without stifling the poppies to grow? Help?!
