I'm the same one. There was so much pressure to sell and we would get yelled at if we didn't sell enough. I liked working at the cash register.
I just started working at BBW for seasonal in November but I'm having issues with them scheduling me late at night (I told them it would be an issue because I live in a high crime area)

I applied online and i call to see if they got my application and see if they were hiring and they said they would call me if they want an interview. Is that a good sign and how long should i wait to call back again?
Hey there, I'm in high school and haven't had a job before. I want to apply for barnes&noble (as a bookseller? that's the only position open right now? would you recommend? still a bit confused on what that is) anyway and the problem is I play a fall varsity sport at my school, it's extremely time consuming and I would probably only be able to work weekends the first couple months, then in October when the season ends I'll be able to work way more often. Do you think they would consider me at all because of that? Or should I look for a less-demanding job at the local grocery store or whatever instead haha?

Thanks so much for posting this! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that FREAKS me OUT!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
I currently work at Starbucks and have been working there for about a month. I like the afternoons and evenings. I absolutely hate the mornings and the store I work at has a drive thru so it's absolutely nuts in the morning. The shifts and the manager have no qualms about throwing you in the deep end of the pool and letting you drown. Every morning makes me want to quit or at least transfer stores
Good tips! Would like to add: check the gift card walls at places like Safeway, Target and Costco because they often sell Disney tickets at a discount such as a three day ticket for the price of a two day ticket, or an adult pass for the price of a child's pass. Read the card very carefully, because they are usually only valid for a narrow window of time, often expiring a few weeks from date of purchase.

What was Barnes and Noble's policy on exotic hair colors, tattoos, and piercings? I'll be working at one in a larger city but don't know if they will necessarily be more lenient on body modification policy because of that.

rides dont cost anything, all you have to pay for is your disneyland ticket and you can literally go on EVERY ride

you said you got paid little but how much did you actually get paid?
You get paid minimum wages and it's really hard to get a raise there from what I remember. Hope that helps!

I tore mine when I went for a high ball and I came down on my right knee and it just gave away

+Lizzie Bags I had ACL Surgery a week and a half now and am experiencing a bit of swelling, did you experience swelling?
There are a bunch of outlets!! I see outlets throughout Disneyland! In stores, in restaurants, hidden throughout the park. One time my mother just asked a waitress at Carthay Circle (where we were eating dinner) to plug in her phone and after eating we just grabbed it and it was charged.

I tore my acl and meniscus this year cheering of all the times I could injure my knee it happened during my senior year and I was so upset and cried pretty much everyday after surgery. This is common in cheer leading as well
