  @@ludwigwittgenstein2422 The sources at the huts are fresh water springs. Most people drink it (me too) without filtering. I thought (during offseason) it was very nice actually. When it comes to rivers… I would use a filter because there are pigs, cows and other animals roaming around 💩 Habe fun on your adventure :)

  Hey Phil, super schönes Video über den GR20! Ich plane grade auch meinen Trip für dieses Jahr und bin über etwas gestolpert: an Tag 7 warst du restocken und sagst du kommst grade irgendwoher, wo warst du da und bist du mit dem Zug dorthin? Ich mache mir etwas Sorgen wegen der Verpflegung, weil ich keine 20-30€ jeden Tag fürs Abendessen ausgeben möchte :)

  Hey Lör, schön dass es dir gefallen hat! Der Ort heist Corte und ist gut von Vizzavona (quasi die Mitte der Wanderung) mit dem Zug zu erreichen. Auch nicht allzu teuer, wenn ich mich recht erinnere :D Ganz viel Spaß dir bei deinem Trip! :)

  Mir fiel eben ein, dass in Vizzavona selbst auch ein kleiner shop mit allem essenziellen ist. Vllt reicht dir der schon, dann musst du nicht nach Corte. Ich brauchte nur Medis und ne neue SD Karte :D

Unfortunately I don't know of any other place to restock food.. hope you can find something :) And all the best for your trip!

  One thing that might be good know is that it is bad etiquette to walk in ski tracks with boots or snow shoes.

  We actually talked to some people about it :D but never found someone who really cared. The snow was pretty hard too tho. So maybe a bigger problem in other snowconditions. Usually in that area all the tracks are blown over by wind and there are no traces left behind anyways. But thanks for the reminder :) All the best

  @@philhamann420 Well, did it twice in summer. So next time in winter is at least considerable. Most likely I will use cross country skis instead snowshoes. Nobody needs to know my nationality on first sight.😄

  Hello Phil, I'm from Corsica, I made the GR20 couple of times and I have to say this is the very best GR20 I ever seen .. I enjoyed it a lot !!! I was also walking on the trail on October 2023 but we didnt meet !! Would have been a great inspiration for me because i'm really a big fan of what you do, going abroad , hike like you do. Really great man ! wish you the best

I do have some other projects (In 2 weeks I will be filming in the arctic for a bit & a video about Vanuatu needs to be cut), but I guess I will first work on a advice video on the GR20 after the arctic trip.   Amazing video Phil! I'm considering some multi-day hikes this summer. I've never done a solo multi-day hike, so this will be quite the adventure. Can you make a video about how you started doing this and where someone new should start? I live in Germany (moved recently), so a European perspective is helpful.

  Thank you! Glad you liked it :) I don't know if I'll be able to make a video in the next weeks but there will be a video about that sooner or later. In my opinion the most helpful skill is to accept every situation radically. This gives you peace of mind in any situation. But it's something people train for a long time (meditation...). Also hiking solo will develop this skill. Of course basic info like needed gear or known tips & tricks should be part of your prep :) The Scandinavian countries are perfect for your first solo multi day trips :)

  Thanks Michael! Glad you enjoyed the video :) The amount of hours I hiked are shown in the bottom left corner on the beginning of each day (just skip to the beginning of each chapter :) ). I'd say I'm a pretty fast hiker but had todo a lot 3 times because of the filming. The backpack weight was around 18kg at the beginning (food for 7 days, filming equipment, gas, tent..)   drones are not permitted within protected areas in Tasmania. I wonder how many times you were informed of this fact ?

  Oh, I didn’t get informed about that.. otherwise I wouldn’t have used the drone. I was even having my drone with me inside info huts of the national parks and no comment.. I was a complete beginner in drone flying back in 2019 and the regulations seemed not too strict from what I heard then. Thanks for the Info.

  Really great video and shots of some spectacular landscape. I know we all have different musical preferences but I found most of the background music to be annoying and distracting from your great visuals. I reckon great visuals are best paired with very simple and quiet music .. maybe simple acoustic guitar, or soft and simple piano. Percussion, strong beats, grand and dramatic gestures in music seem to go best with video involving dramatic action.
