  Saying "He didn't have a choice" when he spent $60k because he needed a vehicle is a f***ing joke. There were PLENTY of vehicles available during the pandemic that cost a fraction of that price. That being said, auto insurance is just legalized extortion and the provider needs to reimburse him for what he was paying for.

  The problem with this is that the insurance company can deny a claim in bad faith. The response is to take them to court and have the court order a payment. If they lose the court case, they simply pay for their lawyers and the claim they should have payed. The few states that decided there's also lawyer fee shifting and treble damages are the ones doing it right.
