Hi and Welcome to my channel! I will be making videos of my hikes. I'll be releasing a video every mouth or more if I can. I am new to the hiking community, so i have a lot of things to learn and a lot of mountains and places to explore, and I can't wait to take you on my adventures
Being ex military ive done a few odd hikes in the past like Snowdon and a through hike in norway I've done a London to Brighton 100k charity walk and few odd hikes in the new forest and peak district and i really enjoyed them. so i thought, why not let's turn it into a hobby and start a youtube channel whilst doing that to make it more interesting.
I hope you enjoy my videos.

Such a beautiful and lovely hike my friend! This looks amazing!
Very nice Matt. You had beautiful weather. Good drone images. Nice to hear you'll be doing a wild camp there soon. Nice vid👍
Thanks jamie it good to be back filming again 🙂. I was lucky with the weather! I'm glad you liked my drone shots too! I can't wait to start my wild camp adventures it opens up so many opportunities 🙂.
Keep up the great hiking videos ❤
Thank you, I will and I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
cracking video matt loved it. the views looked amazing and the drone footage was brilliant with everyone having a little pose 🙂 look forward to future uploads
@JIMcLauchlan thank you mate! The views that day were great, the DOE Lot were lovely too a great bunch people! I'm filming this weekend I think so keep an eye out for 2 weeks time. 🙌
@@matts_hiking_adventures will do have a great week Matt
That was brilliant mate. Never done that route but it’s on my list, yet I’ve climber most (nearly all) of the mountains you were looking at. I did the route from Dragons back to Waun Fach. I need to do your route to finish it off 👍
Thank you mate, you should definitely give it a go at some point! Since then I've done more of the black mountains, but I'm yet to do the dragons back to waun fach! When I do it I going to drop down to the resivour then up to rhos and then back down the dragons back. I cant wait to do it. It is in the plans, I have so much more to explore 😬😁.
Nice short Matt👌
Thanks mate 🙌
@matts_hiking_adventures Where you going next mate?
@@JamieHarding5 the Vale of ewyas is next. Looks like a nice hike 🙂.
@matts_hiking_adventures Nice Matt, Llanthony Priory too I'm guessing. It looks beautiful. It's on my list. I'm probably going to the Shropshire Hills or Fan Fawr. Not for about 8-10 days. Have a good time mate.👋
@JamieHarding5 yeah your right! I'm also going to the priory too! How come not for 10 days are you busy with work?
Brilliant!!
Thank you 😁.
Well done Matt. Another good one. Nice mate, you said you are so glad you came out today because of the views. Nice👌 Lovely singing birds and blue bells. Nice spot to stop for food and pony. Well done👏👏 Watched and enjoyed👋 Sugarloaf is very good, great pub at the bottom, also very nice Wetherspoons in Abergavenny town. I go up that way often. The 3 together, skirrid, Sugarloaf and Blorenge. You could do two easily in a day and have 2 separate videos over a couple of weeks👍 . Welsh 3 peaks for me tomorrow 4am start👋
Cheers mate 🙌. Haha yeah I was glad because i wasnt going to 🤣! The views were awesome that day! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Good luck with your 3 peak challenge 🙌 I look forward to your video. I have recently done the sugarloaf and skirrid fawr in a day It was really good, the smaller hikes I keep to my instagram and post my bigger hikes on here. Blorenge is a good shout. I forgot all about it 😁.
@matts_hiking_adventures 😁👍 Thanks mate. Have you thought of wild camping mate? You'd do well with that.
Wow the Welsh mountains are stunning!! Nice one Matt!
Yes they are aren't they, the ones I've done so far are away from the tourist hot spots, so it makes it more of a pleasure to hike them. I'm glad you liked my video and thanks for watching 😁.
Such a beautiful filming and editing my friend! Gorgeous solo adventure 👏👏
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it 🙌.
Looks good....heading down that way this coming weekend....[ New sub ]
Hey! I hope you enjoyed your weekend down here and the weather was good, thank you for watching and subscribing 😄
@@matts_hiking_adventures Cheers...we are having a smashing time.
@atrampinthehills.841 that's great I'm glad you're enjoying your time down here. If you want any recommendations don't hesitate to ask me! I know a few nice places 😄
@@matts_hiking_adventures Thanks Mate..we have done Tintagel, Brown willy. Hartland point so far....hoping to do Yes tor and High Willhays tomorrow then another coastal walk on Friday before going home on Sat.
Great video clip Matt, thanks for sharing, it looks beautiful there, we've hoping to get out hiking in to Glyn Y Fan Fach later in the year so you're video can give us some ideas on where to go, we've subscribed :) 👍
It was lovely wasn't it! It's definitely worth a visit you wont be disappointed. I have many more videos planned for this channel I'm sure you like them. Thank you watching and subscribing 😄
Good going Matt - I know all them peaks. I have to agree a great view from Twmpa and into the interior of the Black off Pen Y Gadair to be fair. I have to disagree with your assessment of the Black Mountain. Although not much on the spot a little West and you can see into the interior of the Bluff-East and it's the Black Hill and the Olchon Valley - gotta go off piste for that to be fair. Well, an awesome day. All the best. Mark
Thank you. It was a very long day! That's fair mate. Everyone has their opinions! But I didn't really like black mountain, I just felt there wasn't much there to show or speak of and i like a good view or an interesting summit and to me it had neither of them, and it was very boggy so going off piste wasn't really an option. Thank you for watching. I'm glad you like it 😁.
@@matts_hiking_adventures A good long day. Yeah, just saying if you were to go off piste it's slopes are fairly interesting. A pleasure.
Such an awesome hike and trail! The place looks so beautiful. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Thank you! The place was lovely! I have many more adventures to share 😁.
This place looks outstanding, everything looks and sounds so soothing! Birds chirping fits perfectly my friend!
Considering how windy it was, the birds were out and about singing their lungs out! 🙌
This looks like a wonderful trail and the perfect hiking adventure. The welsh 100 looks fantastic through your lens Matt. Great video!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked my video! There will be more of the Welsh 100 coming up soon 😁.
Fair play. You put in a shift on that one💪👏👏 Very good vid and you showed the area in a great way. Funny standing in England then Wales. Liked that.😁 Glad you had a beautiful day for your huge hike. Keep them coming Matt.👍👋
I certainly did! It was a long day! There were some great views that day, too. I'm glad you liked the video 😁.
Some stunning sights there
Thanks 😁. It was quite cloudy that day so i got what I could 🤣
Nice 😉👍
Hi Matt. Looks a great hike. Beautiful conditions for big walk. Nice you had snow. A nice watch.👏👏 Really good to see you out again.👍
Wha a beautiful scenery, gorgeous hike my friend!
Thank you 🙌😁.
A fantastic walk out there Matt - great conditions. It's good to know you earned your day out. A tip bro. The audio levels were so much higher than your voice levels. The trick is getting that right - I was up and down like a yoyo. You're likely to get more views and fewer people abandoning the video. Well, all the best. Mark
Thank you for advice dude! I will tune the down the audio a lot more 😁. Thank you for watching
@@matts_hiking_adventures That's Ok Matt - yeah most won't say anything mate. All the best
Boggy and bright out Matt but a great ascent as the views opened up. Nice and fresh on top. I imagine you got back down buzzing. Good going. Mark
Yes!! the views were great, weren't they! And was definitely fresh on top thats for sure. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for watching 😁
@@matts_hiking_adventures A pleasure to watch Matt-good to hear of the day.
Nice to see someone off piste. There are better starting points.Pen y Fan is not visible from the summit as it is covered by Corn Du.You have to go about 200 metres north to glimpse both.Give a shout if you want pronunciation tips.Keep the off piste going
Thank you for the info I didn't realise I thought you could see both from the summit, if it wasn't for the cloud cover I might of noticed it! I know I'm rubbish at Pronounceing the Welsh names so If I need some tips I will give you a shout 🙌. Im glad you liked the video and Thanks for watching.
@@matts_hiking_adventures do you have an email or messenger I can send a summit photo later?
Hiya Mat, I dropped a comment but it doesn’t seemed to have worked, I’ve never been to the Brecon’s, it is on my list to do but with the lakes so close I always just seem to head there Cracking vid mate with some great views, loved the music and even all the bogs lol I’ll drop a sub on the way out ATB Alan
You should definitely go when you get the chance its a nice place! I'm going to the lakes this weekend! Expecting a bit of snow too 🙌 I'm glad you liked my video and thank you for subscribing I will check your channel out aswell 😁.
@@matts_hiking_adventures cheers mate, yeah I’m out on Friday got a sneaky day off work, so going for a camp 👍👍

@@matts_hiking_adventures Hiya butty. You are slower getting your vid out. I noticed you said it will be week later, hope you are ok.👍
Good going Matt. I enjoyed the hill count. You had a great day for it - I imagine you for through a fair bit of fluid. All the best. Mark (Hereford)
I got through 2.5 litres of water thats not including the Lucozade, it was a great day I loved it. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the hill count 😁.

That was some effort mate. Truly enjoyable upload. Really enjoyed it thank you. 👏
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. 😁
Nice video. Did you encounter swarms of flies? We did this climb a few days ago and couldn't believe the amount of flies buzzing around.
Thank you 😁! luckily i did not encounter any flies on my way up. We have had lots of rain recently so that might of been the cause of them all.
