Thank you for this video. I have been battling with not bloody diarrhea but blood on solid stool. My small dog, who is a very picky eater, will have a firm stools but they will have either bright flecks of blood in them or as streaks on the outside. Sometimes he will poop and then have blood drips. This throws me into a whirlwind of emotions. This happens about every three weeks. I have taken him to the vet loads of times and they told me he is fine and prescribe a food for him but he won’t eat it….this dog 😢

Thank you for the compliment! Swimming is a great choice because the water provides resistance for your dog's back and leg muscles without providing forces from impact that would stress the joints. And, it's a great way to stay cool and avoid hot pavement this time of year.

Add a 2nd ring to it, and BOOM Double D-Ring belt/strap but in this case Double D-Ring leash. Double D-Ring dates back to Romans for belts, to modern day for motorcycle helmets to stay on neck in a crash, and hey.. it could be used for dogs even. Double D-Ring would allow the leash to NOT tighten down at all like a lot of people fear, while still being as easy to slip on as it currently is.

He still loves the job, but is working 14+ hours a day for the last ten years and it's not sustainable any longer. All the other clinics in the area have closed for various reasons so my dad services a community of about 20,000. It's crazy. Our blog article details when and how to use this solution on a pet.

My dog is dealing with the exact same issue other than diarrhea. We’ve tried everything, blood work, urine test, x-ray, ultrasound, and still nothing. We’re struggling to afford more tests when everything is coming up negative. This endoscopy is our next option which costs $3000 and our fear is they won’t find anything and if they did, it’s looking really hard for us to even afford a treatment when it’s already costing us thousands. Shes been this sick for a year, we’re mentally exhausted and it breaks me everyday seeing her suffering. I’m trying to learn as much as I can from other peoples experiences to guide us in the right direction. Would it be okay to ask what the results were for this dogs issue? It would help so much giving us an idea, we are so lost.

Bonjour Dr Smith. Pascale

We adopted our Golden retriever, Millie, aged seven and a half on the second of February 2024. I almost immediately located a small lump on her back. We took her to the vet on 14th March, by which time the lump had grown significantly and was looking very nasty, together with another twenty or so smaller lesions on her back and neck. The vet told us that it could be Lymphoma and we all agreed that if it was the worst case, we would not consider chemotherapy as it is too harsh on any dog. Most dogs don’t last more than four to six months after diagnosis. Some much less. He operated on the following Thursday (March 21) and removed approximately half of the lesions. On the previous Monday (18th) we had commenced her on a course of Ivermectin which we got from our local farm produce store. This was our decision. Thursday 21st March, Lymphoma was confirmed. 2nd April, sutures removed. Most of the remaining lesions had fallen off, leaving just 2. Millie had healed from the operation in an incredible manner. Our vet was amazed. Follow up by the vet was on 15th April by which time the remaining lesions had fallen off. The vet just kept looking at her and said he had never seen this before. Today is the 5th May and Millie is going from strength to strength. Everyone who knows her and her story (quite a lot of people) are delighted and amazed. What we don't know is how long she should be on Ivermectin, what the dose should be and where we go from here. Millie is also on a no carb diet and will remain on it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not the required amount, that is why a pet owner will spin out hard and think the dog has been bitten by a snake or eaten a cane toad or something, ha what a coincidence. But in a day or two the dog is usually back to normal with zero side effects.
