    We still don't know if this is Lestat's version because Lestat isn't telling the story. Armand and Luis is telling the story. Lestat is telling his side in Season 3 but it does'n't mean Lestat's version is going to be 100% true. The truth is in the middle

    16:15 yeah, you're absolutely right that he was having an affair with Antoinette BEFORE Claudia left!... There are inconsistencies in the play compared to what we saw in the show (additionally lestat says that he like slept for a hundred years in the ground in the play... but there are things that he has said in season 1 that contradict that narrative... so he most likely wasn't asleep for that long of a period of time) but the flashbacks that they showed in this episode were the real situation. And there's details pointing towards that in season 1 as well... The verbal dialogue in the fight scene is heard but you dont visually what happens... And there is damage to the coffin in season 1 after episode 5 and fans were kind of creating theories as to how the coffin could have got damaged... They SHOW us how it happened in this episode. So thats interesting! Most of the theories i saw were that it had been damaged at some point during the fight... they just never actually showed it in season 1. And there are some EXTREMELY passionate fans in this fandom that absolutely do look at those tiny background details that most casual watchers will absolutely not notice... There's fans in this show that prior to season 2 being released were looking at stills that have been released and tiny clips in the trailers and analyzing the characters clothing to determine when in time that scene happens by looking at how the characters hairstyles and what period style of clothing they are wearing. Its interesting to see the breakdowns of it on tumblr and twitter. Some fans have eagle eyes with the details they are able to spot! Another really interesting one is when Lestat is reading that letter to Louis at the lawyers place... Some people zoomed in and looked at the actual written contents of the letter... And it kind of points to Lestat being illiterate. There's some misspelled words. Waste instead of waist and stuff like that (tiny little mistakes that someone who isn't fluent in English would make)... Cause, in the book, Lestat was illiterate as a human. Granted, he is able to teach himself to read and write VERY quickly after turning into a vampire because vampires pick up on skills extremely quickly... But yeah it looks like the physical prop of the letter might have been a little Easter egg about that... Or it could be nothing and we fans are just insane 🤣🤣🤣

    Armand - in fact none of the vampires - are able to control a large number of people for a very long time. It still takes a lot of energy to control people. You saw Lestat bleeding from his ears and collapsing from making all those soldiers leave the house. Their strength isn' limitless. Not even Armand's. If Armand could do EVERYTHING, then plots would be boring. It could all be easily explained away with "Well, he's the strongest so he can make that happen. He's manipulating everyone's head" - well, no. The writers can't rely on any of them being massively powerful so they can do everything. Also, you can tell when Lestat is on script (when he's talking about how Louis stalked him instead) and when he's off script. When he's *off* script, the theater vamps are panicking and confused because they can't control him - Santiago interrupts him, someone gives Lestat his lines, etc. When he's *on* the script, he recites the lines the theater vampires wrote to make Louis seem dangerous and therefore, guilty. It wasn't ever meant to be a fair trial - its still a play. Lestat's playing along but they're unable to force him to do everything. Louis says plainly that Lestat's version of Claudia's turning was correct. Lestat is the one who advocated for her to not be damned to an torturous eternity. And he DID tell Louis about the Great Laws. He advocated for her to be treated like an adult and like the excellent predator she was. He was the one to advocate for her to get her final words before death. He tried to get them out of being killed by saying "If they're guilty, then I'm guilty too." And as for the fight last season, when Lestat says "I'm trying to restrain myself!" & "I don't wanna fight like this any more!" - YOU CAN HEAR IT LOUD AND CLEAR WHILE CLAUDIA IS RUNNING UP THE STAIRS. He tries to deescalate twice - which is what he should do since he was the one who choked Claudia. She sits down and you can hear them in the coffin room. Louis has ALWAYS talked to people like that. Did it to Paul, did it to Daniel, did it to Lestat, did it Armand.

    They can read minds but they have to decide to do. And there's also an implied politeness around it for vampire's like Louis, Armand, and Lestat. As in - its rude to do it. You're violating a person's privacy and it's reminds you too much that you're not human - which is not fun.

    Two things... not spoilery, per se, but just know (if it isn't cllear by now) that both Louis and Armand are false narrators. Or at the very least UNRELIABLE narrators. While Lestat will lie, when pressed he will tell you the truth (which he might be protecting you from) because he doesn't give any F's when it comes right down to it. Also, the (anti)hero of the Vampire Chronicles is Lestat, he was Anne Rice's hero to the universe. Louis and the rest are fly by night and float in and out of the chronicles but Lestat is always the main focus. All others are expendable.

    "Armand is kind" meanwhile he let Louis sit in the pain from the attempt on his own life for days before giving him his blood to help heal him, tortured Daniel to punish Louis, called Lestat as a way to shame him for his attempt, and got in his brain and erased his memories. I love Armand, but I don't know if I'd ever use kind as a word to describe him, hahahah.

    Louis feels like safety and stability is boring. I personally feel like Louie has become the abuser but we already knew this because this is season 1 Louid when he was a pimp. It's not lost on me that Louie is a pimp and Armon is a former prostitute. As soon as he figured out our armands trauma. He used it to his Advantage the same as when lestat confessed that he was afraid of loneliness. Then proceeded to torture Lestat in silence for 7 years and he told Daniel that he enjoyed it . He started calling armand by his slave name. He quickly disregarded Claudia after he made his promise to her Louie is not the victim he is a participant

    He didn’t torture lestat lol he was depressed (their relationship was deteriorating)and Armand wouldn’t let Louis call him that name if he didn’t want to. He plays at submissive but clearly has the real power. I don’t know what this obsession with jumping back to Louis being a pimp is always about. Louis isn’t perfect but armand is also super manipulative and plays at helpless. Arun is not his slave name if anything amadeo is. Louis is a victim he’s just not a perfect victim and he does carry out emotional abuse. It makes sense Louis would want more control in his next relationship (although he shouldn’t have been jumping into any relationship) after being controlled by lestat. Louis and Armand both take toxic roles as results of their trauma.

    I always assumed they didn't make withdrawals because they didn't want anyone to trace their movements through Europe. 3:44... Is all this in the book?...is your question.... Yeah, kind of. I think there's like a paragraph of text that describes that Louie and Claudia traveling through a war torn Europe... The show was just able to take that little chunk of text and expand upon it into the details that are in this episode... So like this didn't happen beat for beat but the show was able to take creative liberties with stuff that absolutely IS in the book.... It's just stuff that is only vaguely mentioned in the book. From what book readers have told me... they are enjoying what the writers are doing with their expanding upon things. The majority of people are enjoying the extra details the shiw is providing! Which is great.

    It was never "you and me" from Louis to Claudia, it's always been "You and him" between Louis and Lestat/Armand 💔 I'm wondering why "you get your gifts from your maker" doesn't seem to have passed on from Lestat to Louis? Armand has taught him the fire trick but why not anything else?

  • @AnxietyRat
    @AnxietyRat27 күн бұрын

    The show has kind of changed things from how the vampire powers work in the book... In the book vampire gifts can't be taught. You do just get them from the blood of your maker. But the show has obviously changed things slightly because Louis was able to be taught the fire gift. He also has the mind gift in the show where as he did NOT have it in the books, IIRC... So the show has kind of shown how vampire powers work and are transferred but not in super explicit details so it's a little bit tricky to figure out EXACTLY how they work. All we really know is that the vampire powers DON'T work like they do in the books... so we can't really use the books as a template. It seems like certain gifts can be taught if the fledgling has powerful enough blood. 🤷‍♀️

    Louis has some nasty ways about him. He's definitely taking the Lestat role in his new relationship. He has consistently used Armands feelings against him to get what he wants. My good sis Claudia has suffered more than Jesus. Nobody on this show has her back besides Madelyne. I wished she never joined the damn coven.

  • @nunu-nm6pw
    @nunu-nm6pwАй бұрын

    I agree that Louis is mirroring Lestat a lot in his relationship with Armand, but I don’t think he’s intentionally using Armand’s feelings to get what he wants . Lestat gave Louis whatever he wanted to keep him at his side. Armand is taking the same approach, giving him whatever he wants in order to keep Louis with him. It’s why Armand is willing to take the submissive role in the relationship despite being way older and stronger than Louis (I also think that Armand might have a kink for playing the submissive role due to his past trauma with his maker). It’s obvious that Louis is still healing from his relationship with Lestat and probably shouldn’t be hopping into a relationship with somebody else while carrying Lestat with him, but Louis doesn’t know who he is when he’s alone and with Lestat ‘dead’ and Claudia accepting the coven as her new family, he had to find somebody to fill the void and Armand was happy to take the place because he had a void that needed to be filled too.
