    I love my 08 GT convertible in Vista blue with the GT package that added the rear spoiler and hood scoop as well as the 18” five spoke crime wheels. I get compliments all the time from young and old.

    In the end of the day, the V6 is the one who usually gets out to drive more daily due to the gas mileage, and with everything turning into EV, and the likely point that gas prices would bump up to "force" the EV cars into sales, i can safely say the V6 will one day see its fair share of the spotlight

    The classification of "muscle car" is based on the chassis/body, not the power train. It's been argued (by dodge and chevy guys) that the mustang (any mustang) shouldn't be called a muscle car. A boosted 3.7 V6 will at least keep up with any N/A Coyote. So does adding a supercharger or turbo to a V6 make the car a muscle car, or was it already a muscle car? I swapped a 2012 Mustang from a V6 to a 427 Windsor. Did that make the car a muscle car, or was it already a muscle car?

    You know what?!!! Loved your review because you are HONEST and present negatives as fluidly and freely as you gush over the attributes. You have no axe to grind like the other 99% of reviewers who don`t have the nerve to criticize vehicles because they may limit their future options. Thanks for an excellent review. Refreshing. Borrow some buddies` cars so you can give more truthful evaluations.

    It don’t need a tune to run on higher octane. You can have your car tuned for 87 octane and use higher octane gas. However, if you had a 91 octane tune installed then you cannot use 87 octane gas.

    Love your video and good discussion. i think we get too stuck on names and identity. Personally, I believe if you are a fan of American brand cars with rear wheel drive and powerful engine (V6 or V8), then you are a muscle car (in loose sense) fan. strictly speaking, the origin of muscle cars refer to big platform full size cars in the 60s that came with largest size engines available, so strictly speaking, mustang and camaros and firebirds were pony cars. but it shouldn't matter, if you love powerful american cars, then buy what you love and enjoy your muscle car.

    traditionists stick by the formula of 2 doors with a V8. the test is, would you take a small displacement V8, over a large displacement V6?

    Very nice job with this review! I am a refugee from the muscle car era and was thinking of picking up one of these. Like the retro styling more than the new ones. Yeah it’s not a coyote but fun is not always measured in raw horsepower.

    i own a 2011 Shelby and a 2007 Mustang gt. i drive my gt all year round and i have to say i have more fun with it. its black on black premium 5 speed a cold air intake and Borla attacks. i put my factory Shelby 19 inch wheels on it and i bought the track wheels for my Shelby, the gt is perfect balanced power for the city i can do a burnout beautiful and not worry i will end up in the curb. bang for buck you will not find a modern muscle car like this for the money i would give it a 5 star rating.

    I think the Germans designed part of the electrical system on those cars. The reminder dinger, the gauge clusters, and the door windows all behave like my wife’s late model Volkswagen Beetle. Especially when the windows slide up & down when opening & closing doors.

  • @newfie-dean5803
    @newfie-dean5803 Жыл бұрын

    The windows are designed to do that. I think at the time it was an option found only on German cars like Mercedes.

    I mean think of it this way, the last gen 4.6v8 makes less power than the modern V6s do. It's less to do with how many cylinders and really just the platform itself. I've always said that if I had to choose, I'd love the V8 but the V6 would still be faster than most things on the road. Just don't think you're gonna be able to win races.

    I have almost this exact car. Cons: 1. The interior is horrible. Like playskool toy fort level horrible. I can pull the plastic trim above the door glass off with my hand, then snap it back in. The parking brake housing wiggles like it wasn't put in correctly. The brushed silver plastic feels awful. The vinyl panel on the doors comes off after 30k or so miles. The seats suck. I dont care about the interior, but objectively it's the worst interior of any car I've ever been in, and it's not even close. 2. The factory clutch is too heavy. 3. The motor is pretty gutless after about 4500 rpm. It kicks hard, but the power tapers off. This car needed the 03 Mach 1 4V 4.6. 4. The wheel hop is substantial and kind of annoying. Around town you don't notice the solid axle, but if you go from a stoplight it can get away from you. Also the front end dives under hard braking. Pros: 1. It sounds way better than the coyote. It has an old-school, nasty tone to it. 2. The styling is the best of the s197. It's the cleanest and not a busy as the coyote cars. 3. The transmission itself is very good. Its stronger than the mt82 in the coyote. It feels notchy enough without being overly difficult. It's stronger and can take more power. 4. The brakes are pretty good and the pedal feel is really good. For me, they have the right amount of bite without being too touchy. Hope this helps. I really love the car, but it does have some drawbacks like any other car.
