    Hey Jeena, I’m a subscriber and wanted to let you know I found your channel when I was prepping for crna school interviews. I had 2 interviews! One was a couple weeks ago which I haven’t heard back from yet, and the other that I interviewed this past Thursday notified me on Saturday that I’m accepted starting next year! So thank you for your tips and advice and I will continue to follow along your journey to hopefully help me in school also. Congrats on all your hard work!

    Is your program DNP or DNAP? Is there really a difference?

  • @jeenaalexandrasrna
    @jeenaalexandrasrnaАй бұрын

    My program is DNAP. They are both clinical based degrees, but it is because the program is offered from a school that is not under a specific “school of nursing”. Technically it can be considered a non-terminal degree. This website has a little blurb about the difference if you care to read it over. thecrna.com/dnap-vs-dnp-understanding-the-difference/

    Hi, I've been following your videos for a long time. You're pretty brave for doing these videos while in CRNA school, so thank you for taking the time to do these and sharing your experience with us.🙏😎 I'm looking for schools that accept the last 60 hr credits. I believe you mentioned awhile back that your school accepted the last 60 hrs. Which school do you attend for your CRNA program, if you don't mind? And is the GRE required? I would love to learn more about it. Thank you.

    On average how many papers do you think you had to write each semester and how long were they? I know it should be the least of my worries, but I hate and suck at writing papers so a doctorate program makes me nervous in that regard lol.

    why would you add that ICU experience in the total amount of time to become a CRNA? for medical school and AA school, having healthcare experience is a critical part of the application, for which, students take a gap year to gain healthcare experience. this can easily be a year or two. we don't add this to the total amount of training. it does not seem to be a very fair comparison in that regard. my opinion is that all types of healthcare experience are essential for provider roles.

    Hi, after watching your journey video, I felt like we are in similar shoes. I too did hit couple bumps on the road. I chose like 2-3 majors right out of high school, couldn’t figured out what I wanted to do. I ended up choosing Biology major, taking those difficult courses while working overnights at my job full time and that led to bad grades and dropped my GPA significantly, I’d say I had a pretty bad chem teacher (but these are just excuses) I ran out of financial aid. I obtained my associate in biology and on my third yr of biology I figured I wouldn’t be able to do much with the degree so I went for nursing (2yrs degree) right now I will graduate this May and got an offered from two hospitals, the Rochester one offered me way better deals with benefits and higher pay with sign on bonus but even tho Albany med did not offer me little, they do have connection with CRNA/NP program there and I am willing to sacrifice that to reach my goal. At the moment I’m conflicted and just don’t know if my goal is realistic. I watched your journey video and your perseverance definitely gives me hopes. I’m just discouraged right now because I heard from my interviewer(Albany med) they’re switching the program into a 4 yr doctorate. Chem, bio, physics, math are not my strongest either but I’m willing to retake the courses if needs to be. Any advice or suggestions on the steps I could take?

    @@jeenaalexandrasrna I’m not even in nursing school yet but i know i want to be a crna, and your videos are a huge help in preparing me mentally for what is to come. I am mostly worried that I won’t be able to keep up with the amount of material in such a short period of time, so i already downloaded a few of the textbooks i have seen other srna’s mention they have for classes. I’m slowly teaching myself the concepts of anesthesia. If you have any recommendations on which textbooks would give me a good foundational knowledge of anesthesia that would be great!

    you can move the notes and highlights with the lasso select though. (just adding because it sounded as if when you accidentally move the slide then everything will be messed up and one has to just deal with it.) hopefully Microsoft will implement the possibility to group slides and notes to move them together if one gets moved accidentally. or to lock the slides where they are.

    I love the anesthesia profession. Whether AA, CRNA or MD. I’m really curious as to what they teach in anesthesia school because every time I take a nitric oxide patient to the OR not only do I have to give DOCTORS and CRNAs a crash course in nitric I gotta be on standby if they have questions and I’m really curious as to why anesthesia is not educated on specialty gases.

    Hi Jeena, thank you for making this video! I’m preparing to apply to an AA program in Colorado. For anyone considering going this route, it’s really important to look into specific program retirements. I’m expected to have a bachelor’s degree, meet the prereqs for the AA program (which equates to a premedical background), and take the MCAT (not the GRE) before applying.

In prodigy I did the NCE Exam heading section that had questions based on the subjects for anesthesia equipment. Lots of practice questions to help with your test taking skills, testing endurance, and read the rationales!! You got this!!!
