I wish more people visited this place back in the day and it could’ve grown into what thr creator probably imagined,I grew up here and I certainly know how much me and my friends would appreciate a amusement park , looks way better in the day

Theo Hughes All of the rides have been removed/sold for a future development they're working on. Shame but it's clear the amusment park side of things just wasn't making money.

Last time I went there the Arthur Daley cafe caught fire, got woken up in the middle of the night to fire engine alarms and a big red glow in the sky.

I wouldn't say ruined. Times have changed, the rides of old are superseded by huge corporate theme parks. Recently there has been an introduction of classic rides and carnival games to the park, only local support will help them from this point forward.

Nice Vid! It looks like a machine from the mid to late 80s judging by the face mould used for Lofty. They certainly are very rare nowdays.

Glugsy1 you're probably right, the amusement arcade has been in Felixstowe for years, and so have most of their machines. It's a shame a few effects aren't working- have you got any ideas on who could have manufactured this gallery?

Glugsy1 the Moose tongue barely worked, and a few of the other props on the floor weren't working. One of the triggers set off an effect nowhere near it, as if the control system had wires crossed. I wasn't expecting to see the water squirting props actually working though, which was a nice surprise.

This was actually released by Showrides Ltd. (aka R G Mitchell) of Skegness in 1979. The latest advert I've seen for it dates from 1982 but they may have continued making it after that. Great video! I love how you captured close-ups of all the different features. :)

TheSarahshaun most of the older photos I have seen are included in this video that I've found online through research, a few of them were kindly shown to me by the Manning's workers, who let me take a look on my visit in July. They were very helpful!

yup the log flume was- fun house on your right looking out of side gate - would of been on your left , had some fun running that some body used to sneek in at night and put washing up liquid in it lol when we started pumps up in the morning you can imagine the mess - I recon it was old mrs manning or willis when drunk lol

TheSarahshaun haha, yeah. That happened at Frontierland in Morcambe too, it caused a few issues with operating the ride over there from what i've heard. The boats Mannings used looked very cute. I loved the theming the park used to have, very unique, especially for that time when theme parks weren't around in the UK.

most of us worked there through out the years - starting with my dad on the over under when it was buttlins, brothers that worked there - paul - mike- keven(dogems) - steve(waltzer) - me(dogems-various others) would do it all again - cant remember what I did yesterday, but can remember my time at charlies. to the right of the arcade was bill's mini bikes track there was an old converted bread van that my brother keven used to own and live in I used to stay they now and again when I couldn't get a life home

Wow, you can tell the place was thriving back then with that many staff members dedicated. Do you remember a log flume type ride? In a few older photos i've seen one near to where the funhouse is, however i haven't been able to find any information about it.

the ghost train was bottom left looking from the arcade , metal turn stiles to get in .we use to touch them then the forks witch gave the customers a little shock. that was funny lol . later there was a mirror maze built to the right ,you could go around to the end and you would be able to see into the ghost train I remember every thing like it was yesterday

TheSarahshaun that's amazing- the ghost train looked like a very interesting one. It's a shame to see some of the facilities such as the FunHouse and bumper cars in the condition they're in, but luckily the park has plans for the future.
