Hannah Louise Poston

Hello, friends! I am a writer, a tango dancer, and a clothing designer, and on the side I'm obsessed with makeup & skincare. I did a NO-BUY YEAR in 2018 to break my habit of overspending on beautiful things, and I created this channel to record my progress. In the wake of my no-buy year I'm learning how to balance my love of beauty with my desire for moderation and financial health. If that resonates with you, hope you will subscribe to my channel!

Me, watching this nearly four years in the future: Glaring Red! That's the revlon lipstick I JUST bought! And I TOO am having a devil of a time changing the label gunk off of the packaging 😂🤦‍♀️ And for anyone wondering, I really like it, but things tend to turn pink on me, so the orange helps balance that out 💄

Have you thought about clinique chubby balms? The regular (not intense) ones are pretty sheer tints... i love the hazelnut its a barely there tan nude

I'm trying to learn, but some of these things... I struggle to see why they are considered "fashion" or "polished"? Monochromatic I get, and I'm behind that all the way, but the chunky knit top with a baggy bottom half... it just looks baggy and sloppy to me? I tend to go by the rule to pair a baggy piece with a fitted piece. So a baggy top with fitted jeans, or a tighter fitting top with a loose skirt or pants.

If you really did like the fat oil from nyx, might I suggest the Tarte maracuja juicy lip. It's very shiny, leaves a thick layer on the lips, and in my experience not too pigmented. I found rose to be a very natural color.

This video is very intriguing! I’ve been studying color theory for years, and I have to agree that some colors simply look more natty. I feel sorry saying this, true summers everywhere are crying 😆 The colors you favor tend to be true or bright winter, and soft summer or autumn if we’re looking at the most science based sci/art color system.

The Burts Bees dahlia is my fav. The Nivea blackberry makes my lips feel dry after a while. I usually put some plain Vaseline lip care over it. That really makes it feel better for me.

Im back to this video a year later because they released "alabaster" in the what the foundation. A new lightest shade! Maybe you will try it? Only because you liked the product so much in this review. I've been thinking about trying it but ive been afraid because im not a foundation girl usually.

I'm very happy for you and looking very much forward to anything that you want to share about the house. I had a move with packers once, because my husbands work paid for it and it was marvellous! In three days every thing was packed up, moved and put back almost perfectly. And I was very surprised that the bill that we could forward to my husbands work wasn't even that high.

I love this content. I love how personal it is in a way. Like when I watch these videos I have to be alone and in my own space because you really make me think deep about the way I interact with the spaces and things I have curated for myself and how to simplify and recognize some of the chaos that naturally occurs and accumulates around me. I love what you said about touch. The things that are with you every day. Like an extension of your soul. It so exciting to wear in your clothing. I love putting on a shirt that is worn in and stretched out in all the right places just from wearing it all the time. It’s like you have imprinted on it. I think that why we like to wear our lovers clothing from time to time. You can feel their body and there impression. There is a sense of comfort and personality. I have some lovely jackets I’ve collected over the years timeless and fit well but I never reach for them. I’m always drawn to my thrifted denim jacked I found in my home town antique store. It was a random day I was spending with my mom. It’s fits perfectly goes with everything and it’s a brand I’ve never heard of and doesn’t exist today. Just pure magic. To anyone else it’s just an old jean jacket but to me it’s home. Anyways, thanks for letting me rant. I really connect with this video and I think it’s time I go through my closet and touch everything and see what makes me feel most like me, things that up lift me and bring me confidence. Thank you!

I'm late commenting, so you must have moved by now- congratulations! This video could have been about my life. I felt an immense amount of guilt for being able to buy a house when lots of my close friends couldn't. Don't play down your own hard work. It's you who made it happen. We also moved when my son was just under one, and in the middle of covid restrictions. I was still on mat leave and even just that, without having to worry about work, was hard enough. I also had post partum depression after my son and it took a long time to shift and that's ok. Be kind to yourself - You are doing so well!

I swear the NISOLO huaraches will fit. Just wear them at home for an hour a couple times and they will fit. I almost returned mine. I have heard they may even stretch out too much at some point (my friend said this happened to her after 2 years of wearing it a lot). Not sure about that but I have been wearing mine a lot and they are great.

I hope you are taking moments to rest and breathe during all of this chaos. I appreciate the courage it takes to share the depth of emotion you have with your audience. Please know that you are not alone in the tumult. <3 I can relate so much to not feeling like you'd ever be able to buy a house and then feeling so lucky to have the opportunity to buy one. My husband and I have been in our house for eleven months now and it still feels so new and strange and wonderful.

I SO FEEL YOU on the trauma of moving house. We moved , more than likely our last house purchase- in January. Just for context, AUSTRALIA. HIGH SUMMER. MORE THAN TWENTY DAYS IN A ROW OVER 32Degrees CELCIUS. Our home is brick, and so was effectively an oven, even overnight, so there wasn't even the respite of a cool night & therefore a good night's sleep. BRUTAL. Even though we booked and paid for removalists, we spent DAYS ferrying pot plants and so forth to New Place. Genuine physical pain and exhaustion. And even though I announced to my husband ( and to the whole street actually), that as a 60 years+ person, I have RETIRED from lifting or moving any heavy items, there was a showdown involving a skip bin, a huge Plasma TV ( which was wanted by no sensible person in the whole universe), and myself. There were tears, and swear words. Six months later, I'm still in a state of mild rage about the whole process. Very fortunately, our new neighbours are delightful, and have made us feel so welcome....including having us over for a 'glass of wine' (obviously, way more than one) that very first night. Sheesh

Also grieving here and in gratitude. My friend shared this poem, which I'm sure you are familiar with. The end of your video seems to echo it. By Mary Oliver I Go Down to the Shore I go down to the shore in the morning and depending on the hour the waves are rolling in or moving out, and I say, oh, I am miserable, what shall - what should I do? And the sea says in its lovely voice: Excuse me, I have work to do.

I am from Southern California, aka San Diego. Here people are dressed usually very lay-back casual (flip-flops,etc). And I remember I was going to have a meeting at work that was Winter/Fall themed, and I was the only one dressed in a peacoat, jeans, red blouse, and boots. And everyone was telling me at work I was over dressed. But for me, flip-flops and tenis shoes, pijama pants, etc are not meeting appropriate for work. So, here we never know what clothes is appropriate for events, here. It's too too lay-back for my old-school style😂
