Hi there! I have been riding for 4 years now and since this horse is not mine I just work him it’s up to the owners to do that I can only ask so much of them right now since I’m still building a relationship with them but since he is not mine I personally don’t want to spend money on him but I have currently been looking into buying him a saddle that fits him I am just waiting financially since I’m only 15 and I pay for everything thing I own (horse wise) so I will hopefully get him a fitted saddle by the end of this year! Thank you so much for your concern!

@@A_HorseGirl_In_the_world here goes. When riding change your foot positions in the stirrups. Put the ball of your foot the one behind the big toe and 2 and 3 the baby toe will be on the edge of your stirrups. Turn your toes in towards the body of the horse. Secondly put your heel down. Adjust your leg to feel comfortable. Stand straight up and set straight down. Should back and square with your body. Elbow closet to the sides. Loose reins if possible we will work on that later. Now back to your feet it will take awhile to get that position mastered. This horse seems to be intelligent enough to move forward with a calf of your leg. We are retraining you memory muscles. When running games you do better with equitation posture. Balance and rhythm is important. When you practice start from the walk. He knows how to run. You want to teach him the course/pattern. You walk beside him throught the pattern. Put different items on the props. This teaches them they will not get hurt. They need to trust you and you full heartily trust them. After the training go for a quiet ride. Preferably not in the show ring or lesson ring. Those places are for work only. Outside it for pleasure. Do this everytime you can. Then I will move you on. The owner of the horse maybe impress as well. At the end of the show season you will be on your way. Remember this little horse needs to respond without harsh aids. Teach by voice. All my games and pleasure jumpers knew the words and voice. And this is what you want. Also teach him to ground ty. That is another lesson in it self. But easy. It taught when you are grooming or tacking up. Even just standing talking with other riders or people. Voice and words. Use the same words all the time. And leave the speed for the show day. If you have question about something you are doing and not sure just ask. PS there is lots you and your horse have to improve on but be patient. Also remember every instructor rider and owner teaches differently. Every person and horse does too. So grasp everything that is told to you. Knowledge what makes riders. Especially when it comes to training. What may work with this horse or person may not with another. Keep a journal everything you do with the horses that you work with and yourself as well.

@@margaretporkolab7166 thank you! My trainer is currently working on my muscle memory! And I do use voice commands for everything ground wise and he knows voice commands in the saddle too! We are working on not using voice commands cause he finds it easier and it helps when we are around other horses I accidentally made other horses go faster due to my voice commands in the warm up (there are no videos of it in this video) so I try and teach him to be less voice commanded in saddle to help others and him.. he currently is super sensitive to leg commands to the point I don’t kick him only when I ask for a gallop and I cant use my inside (or outside leg) to move or bend him so we are currently working on his sensitivity :)

In the first and second clip you can see me holding Bentley’s head to one side to keep him from caving into the arena Depending on what lead he is on I would hold his head the opposite way in order to keep him from caving in Definition of a canter lead: The shoulder going further forward, the one that is last hitting the ground between each stride, is the lead. This help’s Bentley gain muscle and will eventually not be a problem no longer since in most horse’s it is a muscle problem In the forth clip you will see him cave in but also drop his shoulder (Google: Does your horse drop his inside shoulder when you cue him to turn or start a circle? It's a common evasion. It enables your horse to “sort of” respond to your rein cue without having to improve how he's carrying himself.) But in some case’s moving sideway’s is trained you mostly see it in dressage or you see a trainer asking them to do it in order for show or training since it can help with many thing’s 🫶

This strange shaped paddock being used as an arena doesn't look very safe. Having a ride or lesson in an active paddock with loose horses is a recipe for disaster. While I understand that riding space might have been limited, it is safest to separate turnout areas from riding areas. If the paddock had been empty, that would have been ok. Still with the tree stump and uneven shape to the paddock, it didn't seem ideal to ride in. There was little to no rail to ride on and corners looked precarious especially when you were having issues with steering. Your hands were up too high and your reins were too long for proper contact. That may have contributed to the issues you were having. I can see that you are a capable rider and with thw proper lessons, you will be amazing. I couldn't hear any direction from your instructor other than towards the end and there was no indication that it was a lesson other than the video's heading.

I have had horses for a long time now- but there was one mare I loaned some time ago, she was a very sensitive girl, I had a crazy idea one day to go entirely bitless… it turned out to be the most amazing idea I ever thought of. I also had a FrisianXFell pony whom turned out to have ulcers, and he did a couple things like the very active ears, then he would pin them he tended to stop on the spot and then randomly start trotting of head held high- to try and escape the situation. I can’t judge from a video really, but with what you are saying- I think you are heading in the right direction, getting a trainer to help with equitation & simple tasks with him will definitely help. I did also see you may try bitless- it’s a great idea 😊. (I think he is trying to tell you something too as I’ve seen others think the same). I noticed you use a lot of voice cues and kissing/tutting, maybe try and use it a little less frequently as he may be getting mixed messages. When you say whoa- and then start kissing again… I got told by many trainers I had to ask my horse to do something on the lunge, and the second he did it to lay off him as it would tell him he had done exactly what I asked of him. This is just advice, it’s not to offend you in the slightest I genuinely think you are heading in the right direction!! Keep it up ❤❤

Ik I can’t completely tell from just one vid but he looks like he may be a little out in his left hind which could be causing the problems with his lead and stop❤

His stop is good it was just not his day and I do agree with his hip! I am doing my best as a rider who is still learning 😅 but thank you for your feedback! And so sorry the is a really late reply I have found that I am losing track of comments 😂

This damn house needs a timeout to learn some discipline 😂😂😂😂I'm just playing his. I like to find humor in most situations

Take some riding lessons. Relax your body, your legs and hands. You were tight and stiff, bouncing in the saddle. Then you started grabbing his mane and leaning forward. The horse was not comfortable with that and wanted you off. It's not the horse's fault... never is.

I at the time stopped taking lessons for a few reasons now I’m back into them and I will admit this was a dumb decision and I won’t be attempting it for a bit and I never blame anything on the horses I know this is a trail and error sport and that you have to be patient and take your time :)
