I took was diagnosed in September but had not been feeling good for a while ,my sister died and I went into shock and dropped weight, after some months I started losing hair ,then I was diagnosed. I also have IBS and osteoarthritis so I started to look at diet for all 3 combined. I decided on Paleo but still there were foods I couldn't eat ,I don't have wheat anyway,I cut out all dairy ,all cruciferous, all nightshade, then all of a sudden over about 6 months the weight slowly fell off, I'm 59 and weigh 8st 8 llb a size 8/10 at 5ft 4, I take all the vitamins and minerals for Hashimotos ,I can't go to the gym because of slipped discs but I haven't been this size for 13 years I eat healthy, small amount of grass fed meat ,farm raised eggs, sardines, cod liver and a few vegetables I can eat ,I don't eat anything that ferments in my stomach, I actually eat wholegrain basmati rice that is my stable carbohydrate, I eat certain fruit drinks water and caffeine free coffee. You can lose weight but I found dairy a culprit I had no idea I had an intolerance until I dropped it and when I did recently I was poorly for about 8 days. no seed oils that's important.

Read the actual package insert! I had the side effects as a Thyroidectomy patient my Endo had me on 150mcg for years. I almost had a heart attack and defined had hypercalcuria both are known side effects listed in the insert. I went off Synthroid and am now on Armour. By the 3rd week I turned a corner and felt the best I had since my surgery 8 yrs ago. A friend of my husband’s had an actual heart attack at 175mcg. People should pay attention to the palps. I’m seeing a cardiologist now because of being overdosed. Fckn pisses me off.

So help us out! Since are you dying, comes in a bottle with a dropper, are we talking 2 to 3 drops? I’m confused about how to translate your quantity to a simple dosage through the dropper.

I’ve been doing the hashimotos protocol created by Dr. Izabella Wentz, found in her “Hashimotos Protocol” book. You do 3 phases to cleanse your liver, then adrenals, then gut. I’m currently on the gut balance protocol and have not been eating gluten, soy, dairy, and grains. I had my antibodies checked the other day. Last year they were at 960, and a few days ago they were at 317. Still not great but it’s definitely made a huge difference. I’m playing around with cutting out eggs now too.

Doc, what are your thoughts on using NDT for subclinical Hashimoto's? My TSH is bumping in and out of hight range,, my ft3 and ft4 on low side of range dropping in and out and I have both TPO and TG antibodies. I'm thinking to use NDT, low dose, to address low thyroid hormone levels along with symptoms while trying to address leaky gut to reverse antibodies. Thoughts on NDT in this scenario?

What’s disheartening is not only having Hashimoto’s, but secondary progressive MS. DMT’s, like Rebif and many others I won’t mention, have resulted in Hashimoto’s. In February, my left lobe became so enlarged and caused extreme swallowing difficulties, that surgery was my only option. Since the beginning of this year, I’ve had four flares, thus am bed bound presently. Maybe if I could lose weight, I’d have more control over this stupid MS. I’m ready for Ozempic…what do you think? I will NOT be in a wheelchair, no matter what my family says.

This was the one thing I changed that really worked for me. 2 months ago I started limiting my intake of dairy and gluten, that didn't make any noticeable difference (but there could be a delay in its effects). 1 month ago I started cutting out sugar completely and within 5 days I noticed: -my weight was dropping significantly, without any effort on my part, other people were commenting on me "losing weight" even though I was putting less effort into losing weight than usual -my moon face was gone (and that was really really bad, you can see a huge difference in my face) -I used to workout 3 times a week and didn't notice my body toning up at all, it felt like working out just prevented me from gaining even more weight, this was super depressing and discouraging because it felt like no effort I made would make a difference -but now when I work out, it actually makes a difference, I can finally feel my muscles toning up after a workout, other people have commented that I've "lost weight", I can tell that if I work out 4 times a week consistently, I would make the same progress that I made before my hashimotos/hypothyroid diagnosis -I've had perioral dermatitis for 4 years now (ever since I started having other hypothyroid symptoms!! And now it's gone, someone else commented on my perioral dermatitis area looking better after only 2 weeks of no sugar -My face now feels incredibly soft and smooth. The improvement in my skin is definitely noticeable. I will note that insomnia is one side effect of going no sugar, and I am experiencing that, but if anything the insomnia just shows me that something is very wrong with our excessively sugar-based diets. I honestly am so grateful that I cut sugar out Keep in mind that I do eat normal servings of food, I eat fruit - am trying to aim for 2 cups a day, I'm definitely not limiting my carbohydrates, and I'm not super strict about checking every single label for sugar content, but I'm generally avoiding anything that obviously has sugar in it: soft drinks, cakes, etc. I eat plenty of gluten-free pasta and stuff like that to fill me up, but I do still generally avoid gluten and dairy.

Now this is interesting. I tested positive for the deamidated gliadin antibody. I have all the symptoms of celiac disease and was initially diagnosed with it. However the TTG test was negative and I didn’t have the celiac gene so they said I only have an intolerance. Fast forward to today and I’ve been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and am waiting for the results for any other antibodies. The way you’ve explained it the gluten could be the root cause. Is this so for non celiac gluten intolerance with a positive deamidated gliadin IGA test? Edited: NVM I think you just answered my question.

This makes so much sense. I really struggle in the mornings because I make myself wait so long to eat or take anything else and that messes with your adrenals which also effect your energy and blood pressure, etc.

I've been tracking my basal body temperature first thing in the morning since about November. With hypothyroidism, it's low, as you might imagine. Once I started taking black seed oil about a month ago, I've noticed that every time I take it (a half teaspoon in the morning and at night) my basal body temperature the next morning is noticeably higher than it used to be. Can't wait to see what my next blood test shows. I've been taking selenium since last September. Before meeting my doctor last September I was taking 10,000 IU's a day of Vitamin D, and with my first test my doctor was worried about me being way too high in Vitamin D, so she wanted me to take Vitamin D once a week instead, let my body adjust. It was six months after lowering my Vitamin D that suddenly I'd developed Hashimoto's. I've started taking more Vitamin D again, so we'll see how that looks on the blood test. I've also done keto since 2017. A lot of the dietary adjustments I've already done.

A woman can't wear shorts?? Why are you distinguishing between men and women? And you certainly can get UV exposure without being in the middle of the day when the UV rays are worst during the summer no less. With a lower angle of the sun, you actually get more surface area exposure.

In my recent research of Berberine I have noticed several people commenting that it didn't work for them initially, but when they took it 10-30 min before meals it worked really well. (2-3x a day). Can anyone confirm if Berberine is also blood thinning? I'm trying to find out if i can take it if i'm taking nattokinase and/or serrapeptase.

I have been on NP thyroid for a few years now. In the process of getting more labs done so I can up my dose. I'm at the lower spectrum of the normal range. My insurance does not cover NP thyroid so it is all paid out of pocket which runs about $90 a month. I don't understand why the price you were talking about in this video are so much cheaper

( I do go to a weight loss clinic, the MD there can't prescribed the new drugs, as I don't have diabetes; a good thing, I know) ... I get real sad tho ... Miss my Armour Thyroid !
