I was laying in a Fl Prison when this came out, a fair ways into a 40yr Prison sentence for fraud. Trying to change my life not knowing i was ever getting out. Long story... The short us this song would just take me away. To all y'all drawing strength from this walking out of or through addiction. Jesus Christ is more than enough for every trial and temptation.

I can remember being high on Xanax and herion. And was playing this song. And had flashbacks of being a teenager with my friends and the guy who I was in love with swimming at this hole and jumping in the water on a tire swing. And running through the grass on a hot summer day. No worries and cares in the world. Being young n and love. It fucking woke me up. I’m now clean 12 years. 🙏❤️

This is my most favorite song, a time when Innocence was the most important thing to have, I had this country life as we lived out of town on a dirt road, by now it's not the same world I grew up in, too much going on, to noisy, the quietness of the countryside has been stolen by superhighways, big trucks that speed down the road not considering safety, too many killings, and drugs have taken over areas you don't want to make a mistake and end up there lost because you could get shot, I remember what we called the good old days, food taste good, water was clean and if you didn't have electricity you did not get looked at funny, the outhouse is a thing of the past , but it was necessary for the time, farm animals, gardens and crops, and fishing was fun and clean, you may not want a fish out the water by now because oil and gas had ruined the water ,lakes and streams, no shoes over the summer but nothing like the smell of new leather shoes for winter, can't find true leather no more and if you do you can't afford them, summer heat ment cutting fire wood, picked black berries for jelly ,jam, and cobbler, if you caught more fish than you wanted to eat or clean you just offered them to your neighbors as a token of kindness, the good old days ment you took care of your older ones , my parents would say to respect your elders, if they wanted something you made sure you did what they wanted without a word or any grumbling, just do it, this generation likes to put their older family members in a nursing home and never come back, that is the saddest thing to me, what happened to this man in this song and video happens a lot and it's because they are sometimes a vet from war and forgotten or no children or relatives left to care for them, it's not always about drugs because hard times have fallen on many without asking for the trouble of not having anything in life soo they medicate themselves to kill pain or heart aches, but the memories from the good old days come back and sometimes that's where you would rather be like the man in this song, I love this song as it brings back memories of my grandmother's log cabin with a fire place, the smell of the wood from a crackling fire on a rainy night with thunder and lighting as the rain hits the tin roof and drips off into a rain barrel outside, the sound of the wild animals you don't hear anymore because the nieghborhood has killed them all, my grand father came home with fresh meat that cost nothing and it was the way got brought up, would not take anything for it, I love this song as much as I love hearing the well bucket going down to pull water out, as you pulled it up full of water it was like hearing chimes as the water trickled from the slashing bucket, and a dipper got me a cool drink of the best clean water ever, everytime I did this chore, oh the good old days.
