looks like you might want to check your capacitors (replace any of the electrolitic capacitors you find) as they are likely to be out of spec and causing some of the problems too.

The Intellivision Flashback came out in 2014 for $39. It kinda bombed but I liked it anyway. Sadly for me, Tommy Tallarico completely ruined my warm feelings for the Intellivision platform and brand, and now I mostly want it to fade away. One last look via the Atari 50 update coming this fall is enough for me.

yeah, this was 1979 vs 1982 for Colecovision I think. Still, love the homebrew scene for all these systems. The Intellivision has received some NES and 8-bit computer ports over the last few years and lots of new original games that blow away what they were releasing back in the day.

Interesting, I never had Intellivision as a kid in the 80's, so I bought Intellivision 1 second hand in 2017 (PAL / Euro version), seller said it's from 1981. Have used it only with crt tv, and it works fine, at least last time I used it (in 2023). Haven't used it with my Sony Bravia tv, and by the looks of it, might be waste of time to even try. I also have the PS2 Intellivision Lives! game, and while I enjoy playing the games in it, and watching the documents, indeed PS2 controller doesn't give authentic Intellivision gaming experience. Certainly would be nice to see modern Intellivision Mini console with original style controllers. I was really looking forward to see what comes out of the Intellivision Amico project, sadly it seems to be canceled now.

I've been using the "Clean Comp" composite/S Video mod from Retro Six. The board solders right to the pins on the back side of the TIA chip, it doesn't require any component removal (except on the Jr. need to remove RF jack on the back), or drilling into the case, and the picture can be adjusted to clean it up if needed. This mod is not as bad as it doesn't require drilling, but it still requires removing stuff.

I played thousands of hours of Intellivision. So sad that I sold it and my 60+ cartridges while saving up for my Amiga back in the day. If only I knew how much I'd have liked to have it in my collection today.

sales don't matter to me because i hate popularity i think popularity is overrated to me i always love prefer unpopularity over popularity that's just me i love my new atari vcs 800 it made me a new atari fan i love it way better than nintendo switch, xbox and playstation i'm just not a fan of sony, microsoft and nintendo i'm only a fan of bally astrocade, sega and atari i think atari vcs is underrated unpopular great best sleeper hit to me in my honest unpopular point of view perspective mindset and that's just my unpopular preference i'm excited about atari acquire intellivison

8:50: Commodore isn't on the list because Commodore didn't make printers for PCs. When Windows 3 shipped and printer companies had to start making their own device drivers for Windows (except HP, which paid MSFT to do it for them), Commodore was well on their way to going bankrupt, was irrelevant in the US marketplace, and as I said, did not make PC printers. Citizen, on the other hand, did have printer drivers in Windows. Should have tried that first.

Something I learned many years ago is that Windows 95 can use 16 bit Windows 3.1 printer drivers. I wonder if Windows 98 and 98SE can? How about Windows Me? 32 bit NT4, XP, or 2000?

Not sure but if you are running the 64 bit version of XP you need to use 64 bit drivers which can complicate setting up hardware.

The old Dot Matrix printers usually had the IBM format or Epson FX or Apple Write emulator They usually had a dip switches setting for the computer your using. The newer ones could be initialized by the drivers from Windows Telling the printer what format to use I remember when 25 pin serial port or the 36 pin centronic There were also some other odd pin sizes The serial port was for unix or other machines, so if you were using a machine like a phone company central office the serial connection could go to a screen cga or a printer It was really cool back then.

Whoa! I use an MPS-1200 and the only difference seems to be it has another Commodore serial port instead of that wide parallel one you got. Recently bought a new compatible ribbon for it too! My "backup" printer is actually an MPS-801! Slow and loud, shakes when the print head slides back for the next line, but it gets the job done. There's so little you can do with its limited features, makes it beautiful actually. Built like a tank.

Wish I had a 1250. I have a Okidata ml320 on my network, that I use with Amiga, Unix, and Win 10. I use mostly use Star C= printer with my 64.

I had a Okimate 120 years ago. It was a beast but did not work very well with the Amiga for me as I was using print drivers provided by Commodore. Things have likely changed since then.
