The Intellivision Flashback came out in 2014 for $39. It kinda bombed but I liked it anyway. Sadly for me, Tommy Tallarico completely ruined my warm feelings for the Intellivision platform and brand, and now I mostly want it to fade away. One last look via the Atari 50 update coming this fall is enough for me.

Interesting, I never had Intellivision as a kid in the 80's, so I bought Intellivision 1 second hand in 2017 (PAL / Euro version), seller said it's from 1981. Have used it only with crt tv, and it works fine, at least last time I used it (in 2023). Haven't used it with my Sony Bravia tv, and by the looks of it, might be waste of time to even try. I also have the PS2 Intellivision Lives! game, and while I enjoy playing the games in it, and watching the documents, indeed PS2 controller doesn't give authentic Intellivision gaming experience. Certainly would be nice to see modern Intellivision Mini console with original style controllers. I was really looking forward to see what comes out of the Intellivision Amico project, sadly it seems to be canceled now.

I've been using the "Clean Comp" composite/S Video mod from Retro Six. The board solders right to the pins on the back side of the TIA chip, it doesn't require any component removal (except on the Jr. need to remove RF jack on the back), or drilling into the case, and the picture can be adjusted to clean it up if needed. This mod is not as bad as it doesn't require drilling, but it still requires removing stuff.

8:50: Commodore isn't on the list because Commodore didn't make printers for PCs. When Windows 3 shipped and printer companies had to start making their own device drivers for Windows (except HP, which paid MSFT to do it for them), Commodore was well on their way to going bankrupt, was irrelevant in the US marketplace, and as I said, did not make PC printers. Citizen, on the other hand, did have printer drivers in Windows. Should have tried that first.

The old Dot Matrix printers usually had the IBM format or Epson FX or Apple Write emulator They usually had a dip switches setting for the computer your using. The newer ones could be initialized by the drivers from Windows Telling the printer what format to use I remember when 25 pin serial port or the 36 pin centronic There were also some other odd pin sizes The serial port was for unix or other machines, so if you were using a machine like a phone company central office the serial connection could go to a screen cga or a printer It was really cool back then.
