My disliked headcanon is making male rover trans just because his black shirt 'looks' like a binder or something like that. I always see that in m/m ships which makes me annoyed cuz i see that all the time. (that pretty much goes to any male mc or even fem mc- they always have to make them trans in a f/f or m/m ship)
I once dropped a fic because it was so clearly written by someone who fetishizes gay men.

For me I really like danganronpa 2 and I know that a TON of ppl headcanon Hajime to be trans (mostly because of his chest measurements) but to be honest I've never really liked that headcanon but I was scared of being attacked by trans Hajime fans so I just didn't speak on the matter. Another thing is when an entire fandom headcanons a sexuality or something on a character so much to the point that they forget it's not canon and attack anyone who doesn't go along with it, this happens with a lot of characters who are widely headcanoned to be aro/ace where the fans will get so obsessed with the idea of the character being aro/ace that they forget that they aren't canonically and when they see that character shipped with anyone (or god forbid presented in a sexual situation) they go crazy and attack the person.
I can not stand when fics refer to the characters as "(insert hair color)nette" I feel like it would be okay if it was just brunette but bluenette, greenette, etc.. Really?? same goes to referring to characters based off of their eye color like unless it's an obscure part of their character that reveals something about them like atp just say their name, And another thing is when characters aren't "in character" AT ALL like I understand if it's like small headcanons or like a little bit because it's difficult to replicate someones personality precisely but if you are straight up changing how they would act and their entire backstory or plot line or even just getting rid of their original personaility in general infuriates me cause then all I can think about in the fic is "He would never say that/do that" until I give up on the fic.

In a chat fic, a character who WOULD NOT SAY THIS and is a grown man, messaged “grrrrrr….” Not even ironically! I gave it a few more lines but when it happened again, I clicked off.
When a character who’s not great, but has depth is turned into a flat villain who is nothing but terrible and has no irredeemable qualities. I see this mostly with characters that have a ton of depth and character development abilities. I don’t mind it in fics that are vent or not meant to be heavy, but in seriously 50k word fics? Bakugou comes to mind most. I get most people don’t like him. I don’t even like him! But damn it he’s a good character with plenty to expand on!
Also, just in general making characters awful and villainous with no regard for their character! Don’t get me wrong, characters can do bad things, but when it doesn’t make any sense I can’t help but go “really?” Again BNHA fandom I’m looking at you. Same with the Batfam fandom.
The most popular headcanon I don't use is Jon from The Magnus Archives being black? Like it's a simple thing and does not matter, and nobody fights me about it, but it's just not how I saw him. It's a podcast, so all we have to go off of is their voices, and i'm not saying Jon cant have darker skin, but also he's voiced by a very white british man, and he has the personality of a very white british man.

My most hated head cannon is that one really popular one about the gemini trolls all having a nerdy "umm actually" voice with the worst lisp around and Eridan saying shit like "that w-was v-very fuckin stupid". Like for sollux I imagine him having an old timey gameshow type of announcer voice as they over pronounce their I's and S's whilst talking pretty fast. Meanwhile Mituna has a similar announcer voice but if he sounded constantly drunk and Eridan I imagine sounds very airy especially when he over pronounces his w's and v's, along with having that German thing where w's and v's are kinda combined and how its a very German thing to over pronounce your v's and w's as well. Hell he just has a German accent in the same way that Flula aka the guy behind "Rock Paper Scissors, Your Logik Is Not Right (6:01am)" video has.
My least favorite head cannon is that Taylor Swift is Gay, sure would it be nice to my favorite artist as a queer identifying person but to speculate about someone’s sexuality identity is morally wrong

I actually know a little bit about this movie. Mainly the behind the scenes situation. M Night was actually a fan of the show! Hence why he wanted to do the movie to begin with. There was a LOT of corporate involvement. We're talking producers legitimately coming on set and ruining a lot of what was originally scripted, cast, etc. I don't know what M Night's original vision was. I don't think anyone will. Needless to say, as someone who only watched his film The Village (which was awful), The Last Airbender was his worst.
this episodes title sends shivers into all ohshc fans “the sun, the sea and the host club” tldr for those who don’t know this was a beach episode in an anime where most of the characters act completely out of character and act very unreasonably towards the main character, to the point where the main character gets sexually assaulted by one of the level headed straight man characters to… prove a point that his friend is in the right??? its a very bad episode by all means and honestly it was probably just either meant to be filler or a fan service episode
Donkey is actually a very important part of Shrek as he's the first person he opens up to, as well as the first person who isn't scared of him. In the sequels he doesn't do much though, as much as i love Shrek 2 and 4
My biggest mistake was making my first fic on an mlb ‘Mari gets pregnant’ AU when I was 13 and didn’t really know how that worked past the basic talk. Didn’t even get 100 words in before I was like “this feels weird, I don’t like this” and started a Pokémon ff instead 😭
i don't get why "X is coded as Y" would be seen as annoying... at least, not if it genuinely has solid reasoning behind it, and the trashing of the autistic Laios headcanon is baffling to me. People don't just say Laios is autism-coded for no reason. It's because Ryoko Kui seems to have genuinely written him to be that way- let me explain. . . Laios is more realistically written than any canonically autistic character I've ever seen before, and there's possibly a reason for that. There's a chapter from one of Ryoko Kui's other works where a character has to make small talk and fails miserably at it, visualizing it as a rhythm game that he's losing because he can't interpret social cues correctly and isn't sure when he should tell the truth and when he shouldn't. It's the sort of thing that makes you feel like the person who wrote it must be neurodivergent themselves, and it's that PLUS Laios' constant, constant autistic experiences in Dungeon Meshi that lead to the autism headcanon being widespread. Autistic people do not get good representation often, especially not in a character who's supposed to be the hero of the entire thing. Ryoko Kui's possible neurodivergency is her business and no one is fit to armchair diagnose her or demand details of her personal life, but to a lot of us, she's someone who truly understands what it's like to be autistic, whether she herself is or not. That means something. We never get to have that. Why is that so annoying? If you don't like the autistic Laios headcanon, that's your choice. People shouldn't be angry at you for not sharing it or including it in your personal fanworks. But there's no need to be a jerk about this unless you're personally getting harassed or something. Sorry if you see it too much, I guess. I'm not gonna stop being excited.
that spider-man one I really like and had in my head for a while, so I'mma share a few of my own Marvel headcannons here 1. Spider-man is actually a good fashion designer when he tries (look at a few of his older casual wear in the comics) and a specially good designer of superhero outfits, just look at his costumes! The red and blue survived the test against time becoming one of the most iconic superhero outfit, and the single most iconic in my opinion (superman doesn't count as he always changes his outfit in one way or another ) and the black costume is slick as hell! And all of the costumes created by him are really flexible designs as well! And thats because he picked sewing up as hobby thanks to weaving webs and spider DNA. 2. Furthering the last one, all the marvel fashion designers have this inside joke of pretending Spidey is not good at designs because it's so obvious that he _is_ and the only one who doesn't get is Spidey himself This would come from friendly banter and a bit of jealousy at the raw talent. Like, he one time changed costumes and made one of comics most iconic arcs of all time, and the design was so good that they created a whole new character with it by simply smacking an ugly mouth in it... And it still looked great! _and iconic_ 3. Marvel heroes have daily hiccups with their powers like us when we wake up weird hair or stubbing your toe, just with using wallCrawling on door handles and stretching your face while sleeping so you look like sc blob fish

One of the characters tropes I personally don’t love is the smart kid who has good grades, top of their class, and is the best at everything. I am a student with constant stress with my grades, and seeing a kid naturally good at everything makes it less relatable and similar to the viewers. Because not everyone is little Albert Einstein. I feel making a kid who is good at some skills but is an average student with mediocre grades would relate more with the viewers instead of making them feel excluded. Sorry for my rant, it’s just so common with these character tropes. 😅
10:11 this! I could never put it into words until now. Just because I ship something doesn't mean I want it to be canon. A lot of mine make absolutely NO sense, so I've never understood people getting actually upset that someone else doesn't ship X or Y.
Any time a fic uses a dialogue indicator other than "Speaking is in between these quotation marks", I immediately duck out. I'm sorry, I can't take using anything else seriously... Also, when the fic has a character with a Chinese name & in a Chinese-inspired setting but the author clearly is not well-versed in how nicknames in Chinese work. Like, it's very nick-picky but I always get thrown when the author nicknames a character by shortening their name to a single syllable (ex; Zhongli > Li) instead of using typical Chinese nicknaming conventions, like repeating a syllable, adding "Ah" or "Xiao" as a prefix, etc (A-Li, Xiao Li, LiLi, Li-er, etc). I won't drop a fic for it, but it always throws me off.
'said is dead' is a statement that should burn in hell. in my opinion dialogue markers should generally not be noticeable. obviously add some flavor (and that will come with time) and i can understand it as a creative practice in like .... 4th grade. but even high school teachers have said that to me (a lifelong writer) and it kills me. trust me, focus more on the dialogue than freaking out about fucking said is dead

Transformers fandom when people have different headcanons than what it more widely accepted in fanon would call it horrid,abusive or "no this charecter is actually..." When the things they say are also popular fandom headcanons that most people accept so they just think everyone should agree to it and thinking something else is ridiculous That and the issue of woobifying certain charecters to making them younger than they actually are,and/or degrading any ship they don't like to that's either sibling or he/she is gay(I don't have a problem with the latter just been said enough times to me I thought I'd mention it) Plus if their fave does something wrong they try to justify it but if another charecter they don't like do something even mildly annoying suddenly there's no one a worse person
Huge ATLA fan, really hate the "Sokka is Suyin/Lin's father" headcanon. Let my boy be happy with Suki. And Sokka would never be an absentee father.

As an italian I would probably drop a lot of fics if they were set in Italy because they are always so inaccurate and rely on stereotypes, but what bugs me the most is when they use random italian words or they overuse pet names in italian, or worse, they make typos or they write them IN SPANISH. I had a jojo phase a couple of years ago and I really liked a ship involving two characters from part 5, which are italian, so... I used to read a lot of stories like that, lol

my most visited fandom is HP and the biggest gripe I have with it is the inability of the fandom to actually understand the characters and their motivations, is like they have no critical thinking to reach a conclusion of their own and keep repeating the same biased opinions of others disregarding any other thing you coud say to them, it also happens that my favourite character is one of the most unjustly hated
My most hated headcannon is Cecil Palmer from WTNV being stupid and a himbo. He is not dumb. He lives in heavily policed surviliance state and is very clear that a considerable amount of his "stupid beliefs" are either the general state of Nightvale's education or malicious compliance. For example is heavily implied that the reason he focuses in mountains so much early is because just like the angels knows they are exist but he can't alnowledge it so he is implilying they do. Cecil is also very good at surviving and at reading people's expressions and while he can be a petty asshole he also can be very kind and empathetic and he learns with his mistakes. A good example is how he stoped hiring interns after the events of "Who Is a Good Boy?" (more specifically after Maureen made his denial impossible). The second argument about him being stupid tho is the one that annoys me the most: Cecil forgetting things is a coping mechanism caused by trauma. It's mainly related to childhood memories but he will forget skills or infomation if he thinks they will put him in danger (a possible result of being reeducates multiple times) or when he is panicking (like in Linear Spaces when he acts as if the reason he can't stop the video is cause he doesn't know how to pause an yt video to not admit he can't). He is not dumb. He is a traumatized man from a city with bonkers education and also unreliable as hell

Laios is explicitly written as autistic, it's not just "coding" or "basically canon". It's a conscious decision by the author.
the one about Laios autism being only a headcanon odd. Ryoko very clearly intended for him to be autistic, and her other work also has focus on autism. its too bad people see it as anything other than canon when its such good (and clear) rep compared to other media.
I do recognise some of these. Not Christmas is very likely something from the Ace Attorney fandom, for example.

When they force queer (or straight) couples into gender roles that they don't fill in the canon to create a gender stereotypical couple, especially putting emphasis on physical features as being "proof" of their gender expression (i.e. hair length, height, body type, clothing)- an example of this is Serius and Remus (specifically in the marauders fandom). I feel like every fic i read the authors are insistent on making Remus a soft uwu boy who is scared of his own shadow and cant protect himself and Serius a masc bully whose all "I'll protect you! 💪" or Serius as a hyperfeminine twink and remus as a huge masculine monster top.
