6L Designs Metal in Motion
Hi, I'm Wolfgang Sixl.
After a very successful career for nearly 4 decades as a highly skilled woodworker/artisan, I started 6L Designs in 2014.
The opportunity to work with metal has ignited a new found passion and a creative outlet in this new venture.
I enjoy the process of developing solutions for challenges that I experience as I work every day in my shop.
Many of the shop tools I have made are a response to these challenges, and they help me to work efficiently and to continue to improve my developing skill set as a metal fabricator.

I’d like to buy the files for this table!
Thank you for your interest in CAD file for my homemade welding table, Nicholas! To purchase, please do the following! Transfer the amount of $38.00 to my PayPal account [email protected] and let me know your email address, and I will send you the CAD file as soon as I have received your payment! Thanks again for your interest and support! I greatly appreciate it!
No doubt it's a central tool in your workshop. 100% professional design and implementation. Gorgeous table! I have a question: what daily practice showed - 5 feet width is OK for you?
Yes, I'm glad that I made it 10' long and 5' wide! The 5' depth has been very helpful in many instances, and I can still reach easily to the center to grab something! I would never go smaller!!!
How can i have this vedio
Can It be used on Stell also ? Like Mild steel and Cast iron. Just for normal finish with near end and not like Angle grinder Finish.
I used it on mild steel many times, and it works great! I can't see why it wouldn't do the same on cast iron!!!
I bought a cheap one and I’m looking for a better quality one but holy hell $900
I know, it's not cheap, but it is worth the money! This thing is a beast!!!
That turned out awesome man! 👌😁
Thank you very much, Corey! It has worked really well for the last nine years! Thanks again!!!
Outstanding craftsmanship and design. Looks like a dream to work with.
It puts a smile on my face every day!!!! Thank you for your nice feedback!!!
@@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217 where did you get the handles for that you use for the vise mount? I have made my own for years but like the versatility and style of the ones you use.
@@clayyerrington6756 You can get them from McMaster-Carr! They are called adjustable handles!
@@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217 thank you sir. I appreciate it
Nice
Thank you very much for your nice feedback!!
I like 😮
Very well thought out and very good craftsmanship. Kick ass job, man!
I greatly appreciate your nice feedback!!!
The setup is just amazing! How much would it cost for the complete detailed designs and drawing?
Thank you for your interest in the CAD file for my homemade welding table! The drawings include the patterns for the drawer boxes in my table! To purchase, please do the following! Please transfer the amount of $38.00 to my PayPal account [email protected] and let me know your email address, and I will send you the CAD file as soon as I have received your payment! Thanks again for your interest and support! I greatly appreciate it!
Absolutely incredible! I am building one this weekend, and now I am questioning the simplicity of my design. Would you mind sharing how much cost you have on materials for a design like this?
When I built this table 4 years ago, I spent close to $9,000.00 in materials, which the water jetted top plate accounted to a little over a third of that amount! Looking back, every dollar spent has paid itself back in increased efficiencies and a lot of fun working on this table on a daily basis!
@@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217 thanks for sharing it is truly incredible...
@@reinaldodavidcorrea You are gladly welcome!!!
Love the technique! Very simple and effective. Thanks for sharing it!
Thank you very much, Dalton! I'm glad you found the video and found it helpful!!!
Make me the best welding table ever.. 6L designs: Say no more
Thank you very much for the nice feedback! You are very kind!!!
very cool table, did you make the drawers or is that something you bought? I have been looking for a similar drawer system
Thank you very much for your nice feedback! I made the drawers myself to maximize storage and to fit my specific needs!
@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217 where can I find the Cad files for this build? Thank you!
Thank you very much for your nice feedback! I greatly appreciate it!! The CAD drawings are available for purchase by making a payment to my PayPal account [email protected] in the amount of $38.00. Please make sure you add your email address, and I will send you the file as soon as I have received your payment! I hope this is helpful! Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
That is slicker then snot if my shop was bigger that would be a definite must have
Thank you for your nice feedback! I know it takes up some space, but it is surely nice to have it!!!
Where did you get the beam from? Looking to make this myself, and if you make it what thickness material did you use?
It's 1/2" mild steel! I made this one myself too!
Was about to ask if you have a background in industrial design or architecture when I noted your channel name and checked your blog and Instagram. Great work man. Great! Truly the most aesthetically pleasing welding table I have seen so far. I will definitely try to steal some ideas for my own design ;) Grüße aus Mannheim
Thank you very much for your nice response! I apply the principle "form follows function", and it has always served me well! Feel free to take any idea as an inspiration to build your own table! Being copied is the greatest form of flattery! I'd be honored if any of my ideas would become part of what you'd build for yourself! Greetings from Farmington, Minnesota! 😃
Do you remember the mofel of rigid miter saw you used for this projcect? I want to do the same with a Fein Slugger cold saw.
The model number was MS1290LZA! I hope that helps!!!
Do you have CAD files for a 4x8 version of this table or only a 5x10? I'm looking at building a new table for myself and really like your design! Thank you!
The file I have is for a 5x10 table. For someone with AutoCad experience, it would be easy to change it into any size desired! Thanks for asking!
Is there a way to pay without a PayPal account?
@@kalebbugay3118 Sadly that is the only way I have in place! Do you know someone with a PayPal account to transfer the money? Others have done so in the past! All I need is just your email address to send the file to, after I have received the payment!
I did exactly that. Thank you, Wolfgang!
@@kalebbugay3118 What is your email address, so I can send the file directly to you!
Love the worship music playing in the background 🔥🙌
Thanks for noticing!!! That's just what I like to listen to throughout the day! 🙂
I like them. Good stands. Im a blacksmith. And im gonna use ur ideals.
Thank you very much, Michael! Glad you like them! There isn't a day I don't use them in my shop!!!
Very nice set up, I wish I had the room in my shop for this. Maybe someday when I move out if California and build a Shopdominium.
Thank you very much for your nice feedback! I wish you the very best, and hope you'll be able to turn your dream into reality!!!!

It is a Vestil Wall-Mounted Jib Crane for Low Ceilings - 1,000-Lb. Capacity, Model# JIB-LC-6
@@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217 oh I see already see on they website. Thanks
Too much money for my cheap ass. Been using a Bosch 4x24 belt sander for over 35 years with various grit sanding belt and non woven scotch brite belts as well with great results on stainless steel
Good for you! I agree, it's not cheap, but now it's paid for! 😁
I’ve been following you now for quite a while and I’ve always wondered how you got that look. I always thought it was just matte clear coat because that darkens steel a little. I’m so glad I found this! Thank you for sharing.
You are gladly welcome!!!
Good job from Odessa Texas
Thank you very much for your nice feedback!!!
what you add in the water that can resist the rust?
I use the product named Plasma Defense, and it has worked well over the years!!

Could you upload a vídeo showing the jibcrane? I think it is a jib Crane, but not sure.
I’ve found it no your Instagram page. Thank you.
Check out the video Sheet Metal Loading at 6L Designs "Metal in Motion". It shows the jib crane in action!
This is probably the baddest ass table I've seen
Thank you very much for your feedback! It's been a ton of fun to work on it evert day and well worth the time and money I spend on it many times over!!! Thanks again!!!
Agreed
@@codykastler4709 Thank you very much, Cody!!! I greatly appreciate it!
AWESOME
Just had to clean my table at work which is without water and 6000x2500mm. It's the best part. No can't wait to get a water table with belts that drives all the slag outside
It's a mess at any rate, but it has to get done!!!
These videos are absolutely great, man! Please keep making these. Extremely useful and valuable information.
Thanks for your nice feedback! It's greatly appreciated!
There are hundreds of options under $300
I'm well aware that there are much cheaper options, but I can only post about the one I choose!
Very nice! Many great organization designs. I love this. Thumbs up from north west Ohio

Goodmorning sir, I would like to purchase cad and pdf copies of this table. Thank you.
Please make a payment of $38.00 to my PayPal account [email protected], and I will send you the CAD files after I have received your payment! Thanks for being interested in my welding table, and supporting what I do by making this purchase!
Looks impressive. Seems like a lot of thought went into how things interact with one another. You have made it fit you and I bet a whole lot of fabricators would be very happy to have one.
Thank you very much for your nice feedback! There are quite a few guys who have purchased the CAD file to make one of their own!
very good ideas, thank you.
Thank you for your nice feedback! Greatly appreciated!!!
Vevor and a few other companies make some smaller electric winches that are not t to expensive, check them out and stop yanking your chain LoL Nice setup though I am getting ideas for my build. I am going to a roller extension on the racks, keep in mind you only need to extend them about 60% of the way to get your lifting magnets on the sheets..
Thanks for the tip! Greatly appreciated!!!
