I'm an old metalhead with a lot of opinions on many things. Here, I will react to music of all kinds, review music, books, TV, movies, and more. I'll go on and on about the music that filled my youth and made me the metalhead I am. I'll try to be insightful and toss in a bit of humor, but I'm no professional entertainer. This is for fun and to share things with other people who may find it interesting. There's enough bad stuff going on in the world. I hope I can help get your mind off of things just a little.

I love Kimi's voice! She can sing heavy songs and also very emotional or even poppy melodies. You really need to dig in their albums to find the songs where her voice makes you thrill. Haru wasn't always the growler of the band. In the first albums, ocassionally, was a guitarist, Misa (not the Band-Maid member), not anymore with them. It seem they really produced very well this album, and I don't mean the others were bad, but this one really BURNS!
Pronouncing the name with a Western accent ("bry-deer") is fine, given that the word's not Japanese, but is a mash-up of "Dear Bride." But your Japanese-style pronunciation is good! This is their best song in years. Mitsuru, now long departed, was their principal (and best) songwriter, and they've only occasionally reached the level of her compositions. But this is as good as anything they've ever done.
I LOVE Haru! Her bass is about as tall as she is. And she almost always has a huge bow on the end. Bridear is one of my bucket list bands to see live. One of the older Bridear song is Ignite. Great tune!
Hanabie. (han-ah-bee-ay) actually translates as "cold flowers." It refers to the time in Spring when the flowers are starting to bloom but it's still cold outside. A similar sounding/looking word "Hanabi" means fireworks. Great reaction. Love Bridear. I was listening to their new album all day today.
I love Bridear. They are fighters. They keep coming back from the line up changes and getting through the pandemic. They were the first Japanese band to tour overseas near the end of lockdowns. They felt adventurous and went to Sweden to record their latest album, Born Again. They also shot this video there. It is one of their best. However, their previous album Aegis of Athena is really good too. The live version is their first as well called Aegis of London...Live
Id say they are more metalcore than power metal.
My recommended song is "Ghoul". This song reminds me of the music scene of the 80s and 90s. Please give it a listen.
Will do. Thanks!
The album is out on Spotify today! It is awesome!
I'll give it a listen!
Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Founded in 2011, Bridear are one of the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have undergone a few lineup changes, and have experimented with various styles, but they always come back to their foundation of hard-driving metal-inflected rock. They have the quintessential twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Here is the original lineup: Kimi-Vocals Haru-Bass, growls Misa-Guitars, growls Mitsuru-Guitars (pink flying V) Kai-Drums In 2019, Kai left to start a family, Misa left to pursue her own musical vision, Mitsuru soon followed, and they had to bebuild. Amazingly, they did so without any loss in quality, finding Misaki and Ayumi on Guitar, and Natsumi, formerly of Telecide, to take over on drums (after a brief trial with another drummer). Second Lineup: Kimi-vocals Haru-bass, growls/metal vocals Misaki-Guitar, audience left Ayumi-Guitar, audience right Natsumi-Drums I saw them live in London just after this lineup came together, and they were explosive, playing mostly stuff from the original lineup. They have experimented with a variety of styles, dabbling in progressive and pop, but they still come back to their metal roots. In “Brave New World Revisited” (kzread.info/dash/bejne/kWphsbqcqbDRiaw.html) they’ve got a masterpiece. It’s also a tour-de-force for their brilliant young guitarist Ayumi, who has also taken on a lot of the writing for the band. In early 2022, Misaki, who suffers from severe stage fright, left the band for health reasons, and they scrambled to find a new co-lead guitarist. They have been joined by Moe, and their first release with her on board showcases some great dual shredding between her and Ayumi. The whole thing is a banger.
Thanks for the information!
They went to Sweden to record this album and from this song it sounds like it’s going to be their best yet. They play a wide variety of styles. The two guitarists have some really fun guitar cover MVs under the name Sukiyaki Sisters. Epic, I'll wait to listen until I can do a reaction.
Hanging In The Balance is great too.
Love Metal Church! Saw them a few times. Mike Howe was my favorite singer. The Human Factor is my favorite album.
Such a positive song XD
If you haven't yet, check out Marcin with Tim Henson, Classical Dragon.
Hard to run in heels
Really, really cool of TDG- shows they've got class, good people, and it's a banger of a song. You keep doing what you're doing- enjoy the chill- great reaction as if we were all just hanging out listening to the music.
U are thousand percent right 😊
You don’t have to use a back track to get the sound of 2 guitars. I use a harmonizer pedal which splits and pitch shifts the input. It’s really useful if you like playing bands like Lovebites and Iron Maiden who do lots of harmonies.
wat a load of crap of an intro, why even start with assumption for a band that you just saw for less than a minute?
David Wayne was a beast!
😂💯🤣💘😆✨🫰🐺🔥💥
I play that clip over & over again & will never tire of it.
metalheads are build different . -
Yoooo reaaactt to motivation by nick nittoli fammm
Muy favorite band...and this is the best concert I have seen in my Life. And Asami....the best singer of metal and the most beautiful woman I have seen on stage. I fall in LOVE like a little lamb ❤❤❤❤
I wonder what you think of the show Babymetal did with Rob Halford?
They did great. A newer and better version is at the Whiskey!
They are speaking in the second language. Spanish is their first language. They are so articulate in English. Their songs are primarily written in English. They do have four songs in Spanish.
Thank you 🖤 Ancient Metaler 🤍 for your 🐷 Ren - Troubles reaction! #ren #verahall #troublesohard #troubles #slaughterhouse #calgary
Ren is a lyrical genius and our Ambassador of Hope. He is still getting treatment for the damage the undiagnosed Lyme disease caused. He is getting better and still pumping out amazing and beautiful music . Subbed for more of your Ren reactions. I wish he could get on the radio
Thanks so much!❤️🫶🏻❤️ I think it may have made you sad just to hear how he suffered so much and having his young adulthood wiped away! 🥺
Ren is an independent artist, and wants to remain that way. It allows him to schedule his work around his treatments and also assures he can say what he wants. The downside of that is there's no huge commercial machine pushing out ads and appearances. As you said, that means he's relying on us to spread the word.
Between part 3 and part 4 we got invaded by Raiders and i was able to raise an army to fight them off. But, they burned down about 1/4 of the village.
I’m glad Ren mentioned the doctor who helped him. 💛
Ren was noticed and appreciated by Russell Crowe and Sinead O’Connor (May 2023) on their respective X accounts.
Excellent.
And Tom Hardy on instagram
Creativity in the face of adversity is the ultimate act of Defiance, then to think of others and try to help them is beautiful.
Exactly 👍
Ren posted 8 Chapters, videos of him reading tbe detailed story of his 8 years of nightmare trying to get a diagnosis and treatment. They are raw, honest. Gut wrenching and beautiful. He is doing this to fulfill the promise he made to the Lyme/Me community when he was very sick. If he got out tbe other side, he would not forget and would use his platform to shine light and hope. He has been in further treatment for 17 months now and will have to deal with autoimmunity the rest if his life. But he can make the most beautiful and important music available now. He's a gift and an inspiration. Thanks you for your thoughtful comments and for giving Ren time on your channel ❤
I am more ancient as U i think...62 old metalhead here and i dont understand what is here not to love...the band is world class and the girls are cute as hell...the mix works for me and i know i am not alone:P
I'm so excited for this year! When Sick Boi was released he said he was at about 70% energy/health and only getting better... I'm really looking forward to his new work! I love this one, and "baby" Ren is so adorable! Overly grateful he never gave up!
Same here!
Hi
最高
It WAS on Long Cold Winter and you need to learn what a music REACTION is. It means that you haven't heard the song before
Okay, so looking at the Live Version 1: I think the vocals audio might have gotten desynced from the actual mouth movements. And for the guitarist unable to keep up in Live Version 2, I THINK they were a fill-in or something. As for vocalists, the first guy singing in Live Version 1 is the main vocals.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I like the song, just won't be doing any more LIVE versions. Too much distracting me to give a fair review.
.....stop interupting the song every two seconds and listening to it...!!
Excellent reaction. Also have to agree that it is about the artist and them on the larger screen works.👏🏻👏🏻
I watched your introduction to The Warning and had to subscribe.
This is one of my favorite songs off of the new album. My jaw dropped when I first heard it. The whole album is top tier, Judas Priest are on a late career high right now. If tgis is their last album it's a fitting farewell.
Saw them live in the UK a few times. Vastly underrated band on every level
I agree, this version is far superior to the one on the album; so good I could listen to it on a loop. So bouncy and full of hope. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ren is such a performer, that seeing him perform adds so much to the experience that when there is no video, you feel a little less satisfied.
So glad that you are helping him raise awareness by sharing this song. The video of him at the time connects it so much more to the time. I will never cease to be amazed by how much tenderness he managed to keep in his heart, especially for others, during those unbearable times. He did not let all that battlescarring harden him. Remarkable. ❤
I totally agree! You can see my reaction when he starts to sing at the beginning. I'd heard this several times by that point, but it still blew me away. Such and amazing voice, but beyond that it is the quality of the performance. Ren, even at that young age, is a PRO.
