We live up in northern Minnesota in a town with a population of 532. We absolutely love all of the nature and beauty that surrounds us. Ali is originally from Mn and has recently returned to the area. Nate grew up in Wisconsin and now calls this home.

Motorcycles:
Nate's Ride is Pearl a 2005 Suzuki SV1000S
Ali's Ride is Ylva a 2021 Honda NC750X DCT

Honey Bees: We currently have one hive of Saskatraz strain that we are overwintering here in MN. This is our second hive and we are adding to our apiary slowly as we want to do it right and minimize our losses.

    How did you pull the wire off the grommet? (at 2:25)

  • @bettertogetheradventures218
    @bettertogetheradventures21816 күн бұрын

    @leonardalcantara1435 there's a plastic clip that separates by pulling up on one half, then you just pop the wire out. Or you may be able to press in the barbs through the front of the cowl and pop the whole clip out of its mounting hole.

    Great job on the initial oil change. I'm curious to know how the engine guard/sliders are working out. Any accidental tip over tests? Strongly considering your model, however there's a set of lower guards made by R-Gaza that also offer good protection for the NC750

    Thanks for the video! I am downsizing because of age from 800lb BMW to a more practical size bike the NC750x dct is one I am considering. The only issue is the leg/foot rest so when i saw your install of the engine protection bars I was thrilled.

    How do you change the DCT (transmission) fluid? I didn't see you adding any fluid for that after you let some out when you replaced the DCT filter. 🧐

  • @TheDistantEnd
    @TheDistantEnd2 ай бұрын

    The DCT and engine share oil, there's just a secondary filter for the clutches. That little bit of oil you see dribbling out is just a little bit more leftover from when it was drained.

    Thanks for posting this chapter of your adventures. I'm a big fan of Wally Wood and his artwork and have traveled to Menahga several times, so I was thrilled to see how y'all captured the look of the countryside. It's a beautiful place and I encourage other folks to visit if they're passing through West Central Minnesota. Also, I was sorry to see how much the "tar snakes" showed up on some sections of road. I don't ride but I can see how irregularly-shaped bumps all over the road would be problematic when you're on two wheels. Best wishes for a great year!

    I was hoping this was the one that showed just reaching through the porthole and pushing the connector up from below. A comment on that other video claimed you can do that and be done with this in 5 minutes. I'm wondering if there's another connector to the switched power further up under the bars, or is there a pggyback connector / method to split the switched power from this point so another lead could be routed up to a GPS or heated grips? Guess you could just cut the USB connector wires and splice in an SAE lead and ziptie it further up for later use.

    We tried connecting without removing the fairing and were unable to do it. I think the plug is in a weird spot. Quite honestly, we were not 100% sure which plug it was, and it was difficult to see under there with the fairing on. As far as a splitter for running power to a GPS, check out our video on adding the tail light modulator. That company we bought the splitter from may make one, and if they don't their customer service is excellent and if you give them the information they need they will build you one!

    Mine was fitted by the main dealer on purchase in 2021. Less than two years later I had to take it off as it was seized due to the lack of grease on assembly. It was badly rusted due to Honda's minimalistic paint job. In the end I decided to leave the heavy lump off and use a paddock stand.
