Next to my love for God, my family, and church, my passion is bowhunting. I hunt in the Western US, Midwest US, South US, Canada, and Africa. I have taken hundreds of animals and dozens of different species of game with a bow.
I use a Bowtech SR6, QAD Ultra MXT Rest, Black Gold Ascent Sight, Spot Hogg Wiseguy Release, Bishop Mammoth arrows, QAD Exodus, Bishop Archery, Afflictor, Sevr, and Iron Will Broadheads, Kifaru Pack, Zeiss Conquest HD Binoculars, Leica Rangefinder, Kuiu Clothing, and Cold Steel Blades.

How about the kreature by ozcut? Love the videos!
I’ve shot most of there models and they all suck. Will break in foam blocks. I don’t recommend any of their broadheads
I shoot the Exodus, just not the swept blades. It does a good job, and the blades are easily resharpened. Always a pass through for me, and good blood trails. 31" draw, 70 lbs, with a 545 grain arrow. Flies well when the bow is tuned properly. I will have them back in the quiver for the next season. Good luck to all, aim small, miss small!
Sanlida should contact LEVI MORGAN and see if they can get him to do a TAC event with their Dragon 10 bow and their Dragon 10 arrows... then their sales would go thru the roof....
Great tests! I've been watching for a long time. I am curious to know what your approach is to the sharpness tester for achieving consistent results. We recently got a sharpness tester in at work, the exact same model as yours, and I found it really easy to manipulate the results by varying the speed and pressure of the actual push down when doing it by hand. I could get broadheads to apply as little as 100g of force by going quickly, even if they were clearly blunt compared to others (not shaving sharp for example). Had me thinking the only way to properly measure the sharpness would be with a mechanical part to push the Broadhead down with consistent speed and pressure.
not hunting if you use a blind. with bait. shame on you
I love this !!! Why can’t I find any? I will order
Thanks so much for the work you are doing. It saves us all a lot of time and money.
Get em on clearance at Walmart for $10 can’t beat the value
Nice
I measured the Exodus Full broadhead cutting dia exactly. It was 31,25 mm, so, more less than 1,25" 😮. But this is excellent head.
Yeah, 2/100” of an inch is good enough for me. You’re good to be able to measure that closely.
I ordered some Evolution heads a few months ago and was very disappointed in the blade edges out of the box. I could see burrs with the naked eye and they did not seem sharp at all. I ended up returning them. Even in your video here you can see that the blade edges and bevels don't look smooth. I feel that there are better options out there.
Yeah, they did have some small burrs. I kept that in the vid on purpose. But I would strop those out east enough.
I'm hoping they make a left bevel 150 with bleeders!!!
They may in the days ahead.
Broadheads are sure improved from the old days when all you had to choose from was either the Ace, Bear or the Zwickey heads. I don’t know if I would go for this one, but the Sevr sure got my attention since I got old and can now only shoot a crossbow!
Yes sir. So many excellent choices, especially for fixed blades.
Great looking head BUT not in 100 grain or no way to purchase other than a 3 pack, so I will stick with My Exodus full blades. Thanks for what you do John , I believe the manufacturers are watching.
Thank you
How would you say it compares to the 2.0?
Well, the video explains that. Just a slightly smaller cut so slightly better penetration. I think it’s a great balance between the 1.5 and 2.0. I took some hogs and a nice red stag with it, and it did very well. The new Hybrid is the bomb.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures you’re right the video did exactly explain that I was just so excited I guess I missed it but picked it up on my 3 or 4th reviewing lol thanks for the response and love your testing 🤘🏽
Wow, just when i think, you couldn't find a better head. This was truly impressive
Yep
Wow what an impressive broadhead!
Yes sir
Being that it’s only 1.75” cutting surfaces and an overall width of 1” cut, don’t think this would be horrible to try with traditional bows???
Yep!
That was supposed to say “Do you think this would be bad to try with traditional equipment??”
More battles please sir lol 😝
What is it you like about the battles? Nowadays, my testing is so consistent, that the scores can readily be compared so any head can be a battle against another head.
Just ordered for elk!!!! Wow, what a head.
Great choice. Hopefully you were able to use my discount code to save a few more bucks.
Top 3 3-blade one piece broadheads?
They’re good, but there are some really nice ones-like the SS3, Ozcut Hurricane and Ozcut Elite 3. All those tests are coming up in the weeks ahead.
@LuskArcheryAdventures i got the ozcuts based on your last review of them, looks like they went all stainless? Will be tuning in!
At 4:26 is that edge chatter from cardboard or just lighting? Awesome broadhead though 👍🏻
Just the lighting :) barely got edge chatter from the steel plate and concrete.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures that's what I was wondering. That must of been some crazy cardboard 🤣
You're awesome! This channel should be watched by everyone who is researching broadheads!!
Thank you. I just want to provide some objective, consistent data points to help people make informed choices based on their hunting needs. I think that’s so much more effective than just asking a buddy or a few people at the boat shop reading the back of a package or even reading articles that have been paid for in magazines.
I bought annihilators last year because of your review. Havent let me down yet.
Good to hear that. Thank you for sharing that.
👍👍
Yes sir
I Kindof Think all these broadhead builders are making they're heads stronger and more durable because of you John..i know they probly watch your videos.
:)
What's your highest scoring and lowest scoring broadheads?
Well, I’ve tested nearly 400. So it’s nearly impossible to recall that. But I do post an excel spreadsheet in the last video of each year, summarizing the scores. They can be ranked in arranged in anyway you want. The one I posted at the end of December 2023, was for the previous two years.
The highest scoring was just a few videos back (Sevr Hybrid 1.5) although imo John has some favoritism w/ Sevr
Wow 10 inches
thats what she said
It was impressive.
I was really not expecting this head to do as well as it did…. It did really well. This head actually has my attention!
Yep
Hey John, can you test the G5 T2 125? Trying to compare that against the other mechanicals on the market. Keep up the good work!
I just finished testing the T2 100 grain. I had the 125 grain backordered for four months. Finally, I just got a refund and ordered the hundred grain and tested it. It is coming out in a couple weeks.
@@LuskArcheryAdventurescan you give any small hints for your loyal followers on how it performed
That was unreal😮
Yep.
always cool to see how different broadheads fly
Yep.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures Mr Lusk do you think it would be a great Hogg buster broadhead. It performed so well and sharp.
That is impressive
Right?
@@LuskArcheryAdventures I like the back cutting edge as well for pulling out of targets. Hope your doing go today after surgery
Cool looking, performed great. But I bet sharpening is a b!tch
Well, with the Stay Sharp Guide C Kit, it's not too bad...they're designed for curved blades.
At 1st glance I wasn't all that excited about it as it seemed to be another gimmick type broadhead. However, it performed very well.
Yeah, Dale Perry doesn't make junk.
@@LuskArcheryAdventures I can see that. High quality products
Never seen these until now, I might have to try out their regular Jekylls, I like the looks of them
Another cool feature is you can use the same ferrule to swap out mechanical blades as well, for a great hybrid head...that's called the Hyde. The Jekyll becomes the Hyde. Pretty cool.
Great video John as always
Thank you!
That thing looks wicked!
Yeah it does.
Great work as always! Looks like a beast.
Thank you...it is.
That must be one of my favorite broad heads , 👍
They are impressive.
Holy crap.
:)
Don’t use holy attached to that word
Flight test best
Ok
Why not reshoot the gel than
This test was so long ago. I don’t even remember it. Test about 150 heads since then.
Always dull
Ok
Don't fly worth a damn. This guys like a kid in love in a candy store. 😂 Anything besides sevr he hims n haws
What?
Slick trick way better asaliant
You've got the library Lusk!❤
:)
any chance you got you’re hand on the smith bros Doom broadhead?
I haven’t. I have about 25 more tests all completed and scheduled to post in the weeks and months ahead. But that one will have to be next year.
Wish I could add a photo of the hole mine punched in a doe last year. Looked like a 300 win mag hit her.
That’s good to hear. Thanks for sharing that experience.
Real world tests would be better
Well, yes, I know. I do shoot as many different heads into as many animals that I hunt as possible. But I test 50 to 70 broadheads per year. There is no way I can shoot that many into animals. And honestly, that would not really reveal much. There would be no consistency of testing if I were to do that. Every animal is different and every point of impact is different. The goal of these tests is to provide more data points than asking your friend what he thinks or reading the back of a package provides.
I wish we would have seen the holes made on the steel plate. They looked like a great size chunk out of it. Out of all the broad heads you’ve done over the years that I’ve watched this one looks to be the toughest and most durable that you’ve ever tested.’
Yeah, I’ve refined my testing quite a bit since I tested this head. It is certainly a good one. The durability of head is based on several factors: the quality of the steel, the hardening process of the steel, The composition of the steel, and the geometry of the Broadhead. This one is great in all those areas. There are some others that are just as tough or even tougher than this. The VPA omega with bleeders is just outstanding. I cannot remember being that durable before. I just posted that video last Sunday.
