Hiya I’m Jess! I make crafting videos about bookbinding, cosplay, and whatever new things I've convinced myself I can probably make. I have often been told that my videos are the perfect balance of chaotic and relaxing, so I guess I have that going for me. While I got my start making stuff inspired by the Minecraft community, I also make crafts based on fantasy aesthetics and different fandoms. I’m also a graphic designer by day so I 100% will judge you on your font choices.

remember kids, make sure the author of the fic is okay with their works being bound, and NEVER take commissions to bind fics or sell any physical copies you make of fics, that is illegal and jeopardizes the ability for fanfiction to exist in the future (that said if things were different i can definitely think of a few fics i would love to have as books)
How much felt did you use for the hat ?
The original binding was better. Now its boring.
What paint did you use for the symbols on the cover?
I agree with you when you talked about how the smaller the details the harder it is the peal the vinyl, my mom has a cricut and it get difficult to peal off those small details. I actually confinced my mom took not sell our cricut after I watched this video and I showed her all the cool things we can do with it!

For the ball inside the star you could use fishing thread like clear and put it on the four ends so the ball would be in the middle also there could be a slight movement if you just put one sting and the other on the bottom. It's hard to explain but maybe you will understand. 😅😅😅😅👍👍👍👍

My favorite fanfic is a POTO fic between Erik/Christine called "So Fair a Gift" by bespin_clouds , I started reading fanfiction again right as this started releasing and I got to read it update to the end, and it's so near and dear to my heart. I'd love to bind it. Also, pretty much anything my wheel_of_fish and MulticoloredRosePetals . Does anyone know what the culture around offering to send the author a bound version of their fic is? I've never bound a book and am not even sure if I'm going to start, but I was curious if anyone has offered the author a bound version of their fic and how they went about that while being mindful of the fact that you're internet strangers Side note: it's positively dangerous how achieveable this looks! You're going to get it in my head that I can have a whole library of fanfiction 😊❤

If I were to book bind a masterpiece, my first thought is always going to be 'Behind the Silk Screen' by eien-no-basho: a 500k+ word WIP Inuyasha fanfiction written by a history major, who fused the Heian era with yokai mythos into a fascinating alternate history based on the events of the manga. Other top picks would be 'Innocent' by MarauderLover7, 'The Ash Connection' by I am Lu, and 'Hero Class Civil Warfare' by RogueDruid. All of them 100k+, all of them rereads for me.
I love Lego monkie Kid and the fanfic. A garden across our collarbone is so good. I'm working on bookbinding my own edition.
As a fanfic writer, it's great to print these for yourself or as gifts for friends, but PLEASE do NOT try and sell binded fics!!! Unless, of course, you have the author's direct permission:)

A tip is to put some fleece or other comfy fabric either on the whole inside or just in places you think would feel uncomfortable or something like that toothpick or whatever you put in there😭 I'm a furry and I make cat masks/therian masks so I'm well experienced

made a listen of everything you need mentioned in this video sectioned into the steps *general* heavy stuff *Book Prep* - find a book with a cover that you like to rip out the paper. - second hand - → easiest is a book with a sticker on the spine and not graved in - dus judge the book by its cover - keep in mind the size of the ff that youre doing! → look beforehand how thick your book is going to be and choose a book with about the same thickness - paper - lat *Page design* - optional: fanart for the first pages of the book or a pic the start your chapter with - word *Printing* - download adome acrobat reader PC - printer - paper cutter/trimmer *Prepping signatures* - bone folder - pencil - cork bord - thumb tack *Sewing* - needle and thread - scissor - any white glue that doesn’t have acid in it - brush *The cover* - 2 black pages (color of the inside of the book) - cutter - wax paper *not necessary but cool* - corner protectors - hamer - make your own sticker for the name of the book and author on the spine
