Hiiii I binged watch your videos before my interview and it really helped me A LOT &&& I GOT THE JOB! 🥺 The formula for clinical scenario questions made my answers more solidified and it showed clarity to my thought process when answering questions which the interviewers complimented me for. Thank you so much for your help!!! 👏🏼

Thanks to you. I have watched a lot of your videos and it really helped me land my dream job.😊
I’ve been praying I’d be able to make one of these comments on your videos, and I am! Thank you for all of your videos and advice Mary; I was offered my dream job as a new grad resident in the OR. I’m so grateful I found your channel. Happy New Year and thank you again ❤
Congrats! You are very welcome!:)
@27:20 I also wore flats. I feel like you can look too rigid and inflexible in heels. I wanted to look like I was agile 😂
@10:10 another great point here. I thought about what stories I had, and the different ways the question could be asked, so that I knew which story to pull. I was asked something like: a time you had to work under pressure, a time you had to overcome a challenge, a time that a patient made you anxious / nervous etc. I already forget how the question was asked but it was one of those versions, and on the inside I was like "yes! I have that card in my deck!!" 😂
I just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your videos, Mary! It was SO helpful. I only went to 2 interviews, but I was MORE than prepared after watching several of your new grad videos. I got offered both positions in less than 24 hours. One question that came up that would have caused me some trouble if I hadn't heard it in one of your videos was "can you think of a time that you worked in a group and not everyone was pulling their weight? And what did you do?" JUST happened to be in one of your videos. It jogged my memory to the QI project I had to do in school with fellow classmates and i kept suggesting ideas but my classmates would just agree with me on everything and say "that's fine with me, thanks for taking care of this!" I needed to get the group on a video call and have each person pick a specific task to complete so that everyone was more engaged.. We agreed to do a follow up chat a week later and everyone had completed their task. I still served as the unofficial team lead, but I think it's important that someone is the leader that ties everything together, and I believe I did a good job of that. We got an A on our project in the end.
Congrats! You’re very welcome!:)
Thank you! Very helpful!!
Glad it was helpful!
I gotta say, I really appreciate the one-on-one vibe your videos have. No big cinematic intros, no scary-happy voice, just straight-up information and how to apply it. Thanks!
@captainveleeta Thank you, you guys are busy! I try not to waste your time.:)
One question that I never heard before and was actually never able to answer was, "Tell us about a time you had to make a clinical decision that you didn't want to make". Honestly, I couldn't wrap my head around that question. I don't remember a time that I may have done that. I couldn't imagine what would have been a good answer to that question or what kind of answer they may have been looking for.
Hi @captainvelveeta It sounds like they are asking for a time you had an ethical dilemma. A common example is when the decision maker's plan for the patient or code status seems very different from what the health care team feels would be best. Ultimately, we inform the decision maker about what each option looks like in a big picture and day to day sense and once we empower them with all the information we can, our job then is to respect and support the decision they make, even if we disagree. It can always be escalated to an ethics committee, and palliative can be looped in if appropriate to help identify ways to help while still respecting wishes. They sometimes ask a question that is similar in NICU interviews like, "Sometimes what the parents want for the baby is very different from the plan that the healthcare team feels is best for the baby. How would you handle this situation."
@@newgradnursinginterviewcoach I never even considered it might be and ethics question...thanks so much for shining some light on the subject.

Thank you!:)
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you so so very much wow!! Before i watched your videos I was not successful in all my interviews. I thought there was something wrong with me because all those i graduated with got jobs immediately after graduation. But looking back, I can say i was really unprepared because i did not know the exact expectations for the interveiws. After I watched some of your videos, i only started watching them about a week to my interview and I did so well in the interview that I was hired on the spot! I wished I has discovered you sooner but better late than never. Keep doing what you do because you are saving lives in these new graduate nurses street. lol!! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much, and congrats!!
What questions you had in your interview

Im thinking it would he nice discussing/mock interview style with you. 😊
Thanks a lot. Super helpful.😊
You're very welcome! I'm glad it helped.:)
The questions about the patient-RN ratio, expectations, and orientation were in my interview. The only question I didn't do well was the example of working above and beyond others." Can you also make a video about the good and bad signs of getting the offer or not?
What about something like: "Are there any issues your staff are currently facing on the unit and if so how is management responding to them?" That way we could understand if the unit advocates for their nurses and resolves problems?
Thank you so much! It is super structured, has no fluff, and to the point. Practical advice and a review of interventions were very helpful.
Thank you!:)
These videos have helped me so much!! Got an offer for my dream job yesterday!❤️
Congrats!:)
Thank you so much.
