@robwilliams24103 ай бұрын
So five of these cities are among Germany’s fourteen largest, all of which are considered Großstädte by German standards, the smallest of these is Nürnberg with a population of more than half a million people. Some small city recommendations from me: Prien am Chiemsee, Passau, Lindau, Regensburg, Ochsenfurt, Sommerhausen, Miltenberg, Aschaffenburg, Meißen, Quedlinburg, Wernigerode.
@ManfredPrefi3 ай бұрын
Addition to my comment This is not to say that a visit to these cities is not recommended. On the contrary. With their history and wealth of magnificent buildings, these cities show that Germany is more than just romantic medieval castles and half-timbered houses.

I've been to Cuba once because I found the culture and the lifestyle fascinating, and I was a young nerdy guy still obsessed with Mafia 2 game vibes. I went with friends on the first post-university holiday. I'd never go back, it's like visiting North Korea. The people there are truly miserable besides the occasional alcoholic-fuelled parties to forget how bad things are. It's exactly like 80s Soviets or Poland. As a Polish guy I just find it morally wrong to spend money there knowing that every single pound goes right into helping the government oppress their own people. I wouldn't know what to do, because I love the 50s vibes, and I also think every country should be independent and free, and that includes freedom from America. However, nothing about Cuba is free. It's misery central. Maybe Polish-style capitalist embracement isn't right for Cuba, I don't know, all I do know is that whatever Cuba has, it absolutely doesn't work. I've been haunted by beggars less in Paris and Kenya (essentially the same place, but hey.)

It's a sad reality for sure and for most people visiting, the experiences are usually on the sandy beaches of Varadero, which is far from what the rest of the country is like. I do try and find the positive in each of the locations that I'm looking at because there is beauty everywhere. There's no question that other countries are less than ideal with how they are run, but it doesn't deny that some of their cities are truly unique. As I always say I'll try anything once. Totally appreciate your feedback and thanks for taking the time to watch my video. Sounds like I need to line up a postcard from Poland in the next few weeks (just don't be too hard on me lol).
