My dad was kept in the hospital the entire time the plaque was placed.

My dad had retinal melanoma in 1994. The doctor at Presbyterian Hospital Of Dallas did the plaque and kept him hospitalized the entire time the plaque was in place. He’s had lots of issues related to the radiation, but he’s alive and well.

What is needed is for pharmaceutical companies to develop an anti-VEGF drug that can be delivered as drops instead of injections.

This procedure looks absolutely horrible. I don’t care what angle is used. Is the patient strapped down in the chair?

Hello Sarah. The procedure is basically painless, due to the eye drops applied. At no point in time is the patient strapped down to the chair. Also, the eye drops do not burn. Currently there are practices that are moving away from the needle, and we are working on less invasive ways of curing eye cancers! Thank you for watching. Do not be scared, as many people have had this procedure and it is just a way of life for them.

This procedure sounds horrible. I just cannot wrap my head around having a needle stuck into my eye ball. I would think that the iodine solution used to sterilize the eye really make the eye burn once the numbing drops dissipate. I wonder how much people get an eye infection even when sterile procedure protocols are used? Usually, it is said that this kind of procedure won’t hurt a bit. Or that the procedure in tolerable by the patient accepting it. Hopefully, a procedure in the future will be developed so that needles are no longer needed to administer medication into an eye.

@@theeyecancerfoundation Do these injections increase a patient’s risk for developing glaucoma?

I see a retina specialist in Alabama. My personal experience is that the injection itself is not a traumatic event or painful at all. I believe it's probably just more psychological for some folks. Have been getting Eylea Injections every 6 weeks now for a year and it has improved my condition considerably.

Hello. The video was informative! I have been trying to search for a KZread vid similar to yours that educates everything in this KZread video. The description at 1:04 is useful. Your content reminds me of the vids from Dr. Ethan. Doctor Ethan's videos are really useful and I learned a lot for my school. He is an insightful health enthusiast on KZread and he explains vitamins. You should check out his YT out and give Dr Ethan a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthanWellness
