Only the factory engineers know the precise airflow is it enters and leaves MAF/Carbon trap section. That being the case, I'm reluctant to monkey around with my Coyote engine.
It's nice to occasionally stumble across an honest video with real-life results in a sea of marketing hype. Well done, Sir.
Thank you!
Great video.Thank you. Hopefully more to come soon
If there are any gain it will at the track , before and after . Thank man.😊
Thanks for the real life video, It's a breath of fresh air. I'm in N/C so I feel your pain as well. (Humid) Videos like this keep things honest. Outstanding!
Thanks for the kind words!
Real person behind the camera that's always good, pretty much what I expected 15 to 20 more horsepower
Yep, 15-20 more horsepower...in Minecraft.
They work just delete carbon traps is an improvement but I bet throttle body extensions would help;) I have on gen 3 and huge improvement plus nine drive throttle control
My hood barely closed with the extension
Where is your shop located ?
Ruskin FL
@@jordanperformance ok you’re not far from me can I get your contact information I wanna bring my S650 to you for parts installation and dyno runs if that’s possible?
@@zl1_antt468 absolutely. I own 2 S650s; 10R GT and a manual Darkhorse. I'm pretty familiar with them :)
hey, found this channel thanks to a dealer close by to you.. They just got me a 24' GT and told me about you.. Will be on the lookout for new vids!!
thanks! Let me know if you're interested in lowering springs or any other mods :)
This type of technical content is 1000 times better than any "gain 20whp now" clickbait type stuff
Thank you!
Here from the podcast with Cooper. Was curious if you figured it out. I'm glad you got it sorted, and im glad i came across this. I also have a Fore Innovations fuel system and run it very low when racing. Luckily, I have not experienced any of these symptoms, but moving forward, I'll be running more fuel to avoid this from happening. Thanks for the update 👍
yessir we did finally figure it out. The fix was pretty wild and not something anyone would have or could have expected. but its fixed now and running better than ever
So around 410 on a mustang dyno. Not bad.
Thank you for your honest and transparent review and testing.

I thought the mt82d4 was 1:1 in 4th gear the older ones were 5th
You are correct but the DH doesn't have an MT82, its has a tremec
This car literally makes 20 more hp than my c6 I make 422 hp and 393 torque on a stage 4 btr cam and cold air intake and long tube headers. Not bad at all for a Mustang I’m impressed love how they look too.
I saw that taking out those carbon paper things in the intakes improves the power by a pretty good number for a $0 modification.
2024 is a fucking Dud…Sorry Ford
tunes are coming for sure, they will be extreme beasts
Moral of the story is the intake isnt the bottle-neck in the gen4 coyote process
Yep, it wasn't a bottleneck in the Gen 3 either; with the 24s, it isn't a bottleneck x 2. Yet most people will still fall for the marketing hype and waste money on hot air intakes and filters that let tons more abrasive particulates into their engines.
I took my s550 to 3 dynos in one day and got within 3 hp .The Coyote is the most consistent engine me and my friends have seen.
I have people trying to talk me into doing an Intake for my S550 and for $800 plus having to flash the ECU, I am not beat... I am going to save and wait and then take the car to Pro's..
If you're in the area, come on by and we'll get you well taken care of
What was the correction factor?
Every manufacturer claims HP gains..it’s a billion dollar biz selling aftermarket..Testing always helps separate rumor from fact
lol you kept swinging that keyboard close to the car and im over here cringing and sweating....
Love this man, I’m looking to get a 24’ GT as a daily. That aside tho I lived down the street from your shop, i have a remote tuned genesis g70 that’s rwd, how much would it be for a dyno run, just to see how much power I’m actually putting to the ground.
Thank you! 3 back to back dyno pulls is $150. Give me a call at the shop when you're ready and we'll get you sorted! 813-419-4981
Love this stuff! Thank you for doing this. Keep it up.
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video. Great comparison.
thank you for watching!
Grande peppermint mocha, 😂😂
only the best!
Glad you got the manual.were close in age,an i just scratch my head every time i see an automatic stang.
agree! While I love the 10r, I feel like this car deserves a manual transmission!
Nothing is better than the stock air box unless you go bigger and then You have to pay for a Tune to do so.... I am not paying a 1000 bucks just for an intake... I Learned that lesson years ago.. And they could have just went with a bigger throttle body and made the same power instead of making 2 more points of failure..
I think I’ll just stick with my Terminator.
Can you tell me how you got the nitrous to come on after the 2 step?
wot switch. Only need 1/4 or 1/2 throttle to hit 2 step rpm. Hold part throttle, let it hit the chip, then floor it and let r rip
Doesn't seem worth it to me. The entire reason Ford went to this dual intake setup was to get the flow rates back up WITH the carbon traps that the EPA mandates now.
Absolutely fascinating video! Thank you so much!!
my pleasure! Ty for watching
if i take these carbon traps off will this void my warranty?
If you are worried about warranty it means you probably should have bought a civic lol😮
@@redstang70 That isn't a logical outlook at all man...
@@burgerbandit3646 never said it was but its still true lol.
@@redstang70 Not in the slightest brother
@burgerbandit3646 agree to disagree.
Probably makes as much real power as a cold air intake makes on its on.
Is there a way to remedy this problem, so you don’t have to always keep it at a half tank with a fuel system?
We're working on a solution right now but it's not an easy fix. The immediate fix would be to cap off the crossover tube on the drivers side and make sure you only have 5-6 gallons of fuel in the car at a given time. Any more will fill up the passenger side and there will be no way to transfer it over. Your fuel level gauge will still work but your new "full" mark is a little below 1/2 tank
Just seeing this video, your honesty got you a sub. Looking forward to more content. I also like that you’re not a “KZreadr” first, you’re a mechanic.
Thank you! appreciate the kind words
Well that sucks that you have to worry about falling below a half of a tank..
Outdated fragile technology
Every time I here you talk I learn something. Need to bring my car back up to you and have you tune it. After two different tuners after header install the car still doesn’t run right. I bet you can figure it out.
come on down. We'll get you right!
Learned about you on cooper's channel. Now subscribed.
Thank you!!
What was the ballast thing about?
The video was shot over 2 days. Since I drive it 20 miles to work each day, I wanted to account for the missing fuel from day 1 to day 2 of shooting
So is a "proper break in period" a bunch of horseshit? I had to close my eyes at a brand new engine getting ripped like that but you're the pro!
I believe proper break in is to drive them how you want them to run.
What I hear you saying is that this problem only occurs in a race environment and only when the car has both sides empty. I have a stock 2021 GT so this is not an issue for an old geezer like me. I've run my tank down to probably 2 gallons or under but I see what you're saying. A lot of effort you just undertook to help out some young buck out there. Thanks for the excellent analysis and all the hard work that went into it!
This is why I'm leaving mine stock for a while..
God bless you jordan
I certainly needed the Lords help on this one!
When I got my tripple pump my tuner advised me to never run it under half a tank. Now I know why.
Holy shit... That's a lot of work for a crazy problem.
Good video. It’s funny how we overlook some of the simple fixes sometimes.
This happened to me after my build. I had dropped in a Fore triple in the tank and I knew there was plenty of fuel in it but the car ran out of gas after almost 10 minutes. Well...I didn't know it was "out of gas" because I "knew" how much gas was in it. So I started troubleshooting OTHER reasons for a no start until I noticed that I was not getting any registered fuel pressure on the gauge and added 2 gallons of fuel and it did the trick. So I keep it with at least half a tank of gas...always.
That sucks that you have to do that.. And this is one of the main reasons I haven't really wanted to Mod mine.. I have seen guy's put something as simple as a cold air intake on their cars and than have the car run funny.. The main thing I want done is a short throw, A Steeda shifter Mount, and the Steeda trans insert too, just to tighten it all up more.. The stock bracket is crappy with a soft rubber which makes for sloppy shifts.. I need to find someone with a lift or just take to a trans shop and Pay.........
Nice.
