Uncle Jon

Uncle Jon

A little about Uncle Jon...

I'm a soap maker, dad, husband, and entrepreneur. This is a place for me to document my life and where you can follow along!

At Uncle jon's Soap, we strive to make soap that is healthy, handmade and all natural. All the soap at Uncle Jon's Soap is hand made, hand molded, hand cut and hand packaged by "Uncle Jon" and family.

We specialize in homemade soaps and offer other fine products including sugar scrubs, soap dishes, hooded children's towels and even laundry powder.

But, we're more than just soap! So, follow us on our journey through every day life. Sometimes, I'll talk about making stuff, selling stuff, stuff I like, stuff i dislike ("Don't Be A Jerk!")... I'm an eclectic kinda guy, so that's how I'm going to format the channel :) Have fun and enjoy the ride!

As always... feel free to let me know what you would like to see discussed on the channel and I'll see what i can do. ~Cheers!

Homogenize it ? You’re thinking of pasteurization. Goat’s milk is naturally homogenized.

Side note: I'd be curious as to what your experience is with the young missionaries demonizing you. I've run into them several times 😊 and have had nothing but positive interactions with them. Kind, respectful, sweet young men and women, in my opinion/experience.

Look up an article called "How Washington destroyed the washing machine". I suggest everybody read it everything that's being said here is true these modern high efficiency washers are terrible. Did you not use enough water and soap to get the clothes clean. This is another failure in the whole green religion movement

You mentioned French milled soap. I LOVE French milled soap. It lasts so much longer than regular HP or CP soap. Even if you put embeds, that will help your soap to last longer also.

Forgot to say I raise dairy goats and I use their milk in my soaps but I have also used powdered milk, there is a difference in the bars. Using the milk raw and freezing it it will not loose any benefits. Whey is important, Your bars are harder using the powdered milk without having everything that raw milk has to.

What they take out is the whey part that is in the goats milk, I kinda agree the powdered is ok but defiantly it looses the extra vitamins that helps our skins out.

So initially I wanted to do cold process soap, I did do a few batches but lately I've been wanting to try hot process just to experience it. I think depending on what kind of soap you want, you would choose either. There's plenty to know in soap making. It's super fun.
