  I like the Filofax better because it looks like it would hold cash envelopes better. It’s sold as a planner though I see it being used more for cash envelopes

  There are many paint removers now in the market, i prefer the jasco spray, you just sprayed and leave it until dry, and the paint start bubbling up, than you just sand, or when are may layers you should consider heater gun especially when is old oil base paint, with that and putty knife it comes out very easy

  It's much easier to remove the doors and use remover then sand with a finishing sand paper and fine steel wool

  Thank you for your honest video & tips and describing your pitfalls as well. Did you at all consider sanding the large faces of the cabinets with a random orbit sander and then using citristrip on the more detailed areas like curves, corners and bevels? I’m curious if that would have worked.

  Yeah..nah...filofax wins. Just looking at them both side by side, filofax looks way better and classic looking compared to the cheaper one. The first wallet looks cheap quality beside the filofax.

  I would try out one for a whole week. Then try out the other for a whole week. Which is more convenient for you, you keep and use. The other you send back or use for a giveaway.

  I'm getting ready to do this with terribly painted 80s cabinets. I've painted cabinets before but never stripped. I have to strip these because of the 💩 layers of latex paint on them 😭 I recommend using sherwin williams urethane paint & one of their primers. The other cabinets I did in my rental the tenant & my neighbor thought they were new cabinets 🤣 2 years later & they still look great!!! Also must remove the doors & hardware to make it easier

  I got mine from Amazon it's a three way cut brand and I love it. It's very similar to urs. I agree after the side by side I don't like the Filofax

  I strongly recommend removing the cabinet doors. Also consider sanding the paint off. sanding the paint off is less tedious

  Hey did U end up doing the whole thing in acetone? It def look more “matty’’ like appearance lol. From that gloss that can be too pungent. Like a calmer blush. Any case it is very very very beautiful turned out great😃😃

  Dang that’s a lot of work removing all the paint just to put paint back on it. Personally I would just stain and finish it.

  I recently striped a kitchen with 5/6 layers of paint it took me 3/4 applications to get most of the paint off then I used TSP to clean the rest. Be careful with older homes, wear a respirator bcuz old paint has lead in it and can cause damage to your lungs. The more generously you apply this product the better it works. Also, if you take the doors off it would have been MUCH easier.

  Wow! They turned out great. I have a 1911 farmhouse/Victorian and they did the landlord special too, painted over my cabinets with multiple layers of white 😑😑 This video gave me a lot of inspiration and makes me very hopeful. Thank you for the tips!!
