I keep one of those Avery push poles on my boat. But they dont make a boat idiot proof. lol
Hi, my name is Curtis. Amazing videos. Awesome lots of great information. Very good stuff. You don’t see other sites I really don’t visit other sites but anyways good info. I’ve been looking at these boats for 20 2417 foot. I do a lot of rivers and I do a lot of what they call. The sounds like the sounds like the sounds of Navarre Beach how does this boat handle with possible rough weather low riding rivers I’m sure it’s just like any other, but how’s the stability and what’s the depth that it sits at? Do you know any of that cause it seems like you really earned this boat thank you so much and I appreciate any feedback before I buy one.
maybe you can help me, so i just put my pro skiff 17 in a boat slip for the first time, all the plugs are in keeping the water out , but what do i do when it rain at the marina ,when iam not there HOW DOES THE WATER GET OUT
Cut 8 in out of your frame looks like u have the room or use a bigger piece of tube steel and slide it over the existing tube to make a sldeing hitch /u would have to use 2 tractor pins each time to lock it in place , if have enough space.
It’s the 2023 same bilge design ?
Does your live and bait wells getting water and drain fine w/o any air lock issues like everyone having?
How is it holding up today? Any cracks or weak spot? Would you still recommended? I am thinking about doing with mine soon.
I'm totally trying this! What size hook did you use?
Really neat! Thanks for sharing
Too cool! Only in Florida!
you could always pay it off sooner
Hey Damian, I have a 2022 Mako 17 Pro Skiff and I’m having issues with my bilge. It’s under warranty but Bass Pro Shop in Dania Beach is 4 weeks behind on work. Plus they won’t let you leave a phone number to call you when they can get you in. To me it’s crazy to not have a boat for the 4 weeks plus however long it takes them to fix the issues. I was using mine like you had explain because the boat isn’t self bailing. Now I have no power light on the switch and obvious the bilge isn’t working. I took the panel off and check the fuse to the bilge and it was in good shape. I cleaned around the unit itself and was wondering if you might have an idea. I know it’s hard to take a guess without seeing it. I’m not really mechanical friendly so that’s why I wanted to ask somebody that has the boat. Thank You for any suggestions. Shawn Fort Lauderdale
I use kitchen rubber Mat the stuff w holes in an aluminum it helps w cold insulation but u won’t slip when wet
Do you still have the boat
Just wondering what is the material core made of when you cut the hole for the front seat?
All you guys looking to buy a boat like this need to look hard at a Gator Trax aluminium boat , you can design it the way you want and you won't have any of these problems . They ain't cheap and you gotta wait but you don't go fishin to save money and the time you're gonna wait is saved in headaches
Camera would be better if it was closer.
very eye opening thx
Least you were honest. Standing ovation for the guy who is brave enough to do the work himself. Cheers. I find myself in the same situation but I will go for it.
looks like a perfect fit to me
I’m go try this out tomorrow
I have the same boat...she's been good to me. I've taken all over Florida from the keys to the pan handle. Just lost my lighting circuit tonight so I'll have to troubleshoot it next week.
How shallow was this?
Thanks for the tips. I wanted to get the Mako 17, but had the same space issue. So I went the the Pro 16 skiff instead. That allowed me to put the hinge on the trailer neck and fit it straight into my garage (total length of the garage is 19' 6") with about 6 inches to spare.
This is good to hear. I'm trying to find something that will fit into a 19.5' garage and looking into the Mako Pro's....reckon I'm going to check out the 16's. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Joe, looks like according to your length boat and garage. I will be able to fit a 19 Mako Pro skiff into my 22 ft garage. Is your boat parked straight in or is at an angle?
@@catchandreleasetrout Straight
A little unrelated, but, I've got a 2012 17' pro skiff and wanting to add the live well that you have in your 2017 to my 2012. However, part can't be pulled up without a SN# since I don't own a 2017 proskiff, I don't have a way to order it. Could you send me your sn# or a number or 2 off and see if that will work.
Idiots
YOU ARE A GENIUS. That live well trick with the impeller is GENIUS
Did that void the warranty on the boat. I’ve heard if the boat is under warranty and if the dealer doesn’t do something like this it can void the factory warranty. Thanx.
I have a 2016 17’. The live well IS small. It also has a flaw where the livewell overflow drain isn’t big enough to handle a full flow is water coming in. It causes the tank to overflow. I’m removing mine this spring to increase the size from 3/4” to 1 1/2”. This should fix the problem.
What was chewing on that fish
It looks like you've installed a couple of rod holders, could you post about them and your ideas for rod holder installation and placement on the pro skiff. Thanks.
Good video. Would this boat do well in the Indian River running from Sebastian to M.I., and the Banana River?
is this not an unsintable boat just like the boston whaler?
I have been looking at these boats... and they listened on the website under specifications it says - Storage Length=22' 4''
Honestly I have never known anyone who stored their boat in the garage. Storage is usually in the driveway or back yard under a cover or in a yard shed at most, just a suggestion.
HOA's....
Good video..check out some of our videos...we fish alot of the same places keep on fishing
I love that they kids enjoy fishing with you. Nice fish!!!
How has your ownership experience been - have you had any big issues with the boat or the motor?
Where is this I live in San Carlos Park! I’m looking to catch a tarpon! I’ve never caught one!
I think hes on the road leading to 3 forks conservation area
@@SWCFLORIDAI live right next to there, you know where the other area is?
They advertise self bailing. Is that a lie?
I looked at the Mako boats at Bass Pro. Anything you would do different? I saw some Carolina Skiffs too, they sure are proud of them. Thanks!
I would have educated myself more on fish finders. As for the boat. I also looked at the Carolina Skiffs. One of my goals was to have a boat that can carry my family of 5 if we decided to go to a sandbar or camping. The same size Carolina was not rated for the weight and also was not as wide. The wider hull makes for an extremely stable boat. However, I do feel these Mako's are under powered. I see the new models come with a 75hp Merc now. I have not had the pleasure of riding on one yet.
@@BrevardFishingLunatics Thanks for the reply! I'll remember to do the 75 horse upgrade if I go with the Mako. Tough choice, they're both nice boats.
Awesome catches! How do you navigate to get to the open body of water you guys are in?
The first couples times I had someone familiar guide me. After that I just started going on my own. In this location the primary canals have stayed the same but you have to be careful. Palm Trees and other floating objects are everywhere. My hull is fiber glass.. not something I wanted to risk in the shallows at first. ;)
Go fast.......check out the way I go in and out
Good well built boat I've fish several times. For the money they are hard to beat.. Just know that they will sink, they do not have positive flotation.
If they are not positive flotation equipped that is a deal breaker..
dealbreaker for anything coastal imo. Still makes a good lake/river boat
How deep do you have to be to get a hole shot in and back on plane?
Enjoying the videos. Great job on the 6 pounder👍😎🔥
Do you have the issue with water pooling where the channel for routing the cables?
Thanks for the trash pick up. Most people would have drove right by. Good vibes. My first time there will be Friday.
Pull the plug while underway and the water will be sucked out.
I’m planning on going to three forks Jan 22 2020. Have you been there lately?? What’s water level like
Good info. Thank you sir. I’ve been debating on this for days and the info you provide is beneficial.
